Stand by Me
After learning that a boy their age has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four boys decide to go see the body. Gordie, Vern, Chris, and Teddy encounter a mean junk man and a marsh full of leeches, but they also learn more about one another and their very different home lives. Just a lark at first, the boys' adventure evolves into a defining event in their lives. From TMDB

His production company also made movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Before Sunrise and Michael Clayton. The film industry has lost one of its titans.

unlabelledView post →Rob Reiner had one of the greatest movie runs in history. Look at these classics. 5 in a row. Doesn't even include This is Spinal Tap. The Sure Thing was between Spinal Tap and Stand By Me, and was a fine movie. Huge talent. And now it's appearing to be a homicide.

unlabelledView post →I don't think we need to worry much about Stephen King's place in history, not only for his own work, but for the fact he's been so widely adapted in film/TV, and that at least three of those 60+ adaptations (The Shining, Stand By Me, Shawshank Redemption) are widely acknowledged all-time classics.

This was a fun movie! tbh it had a ton of vibes in it, it was funny, it was tense, and it was really sweet 🥹 the animation looked really good as well, and I liked the vibrant colors! The movie had a good message to it, it was a nice watch 😊

unlabelledView post →Aug. 22, 1986: Stand By Me opened in theatres. 🎬❤️ Based on Stephen King’s short story, The Body, the film took its new title from Ben E. King’s classic song — which returned to the Hot 100 chart thanks to the movie. 40 years later, both remain timeless.

The movie continued a plot point from the original installment, and it was mostly a relaxed trip revisiting the world of Doraemon 😊 it had some sweet moments in it as well, it was a nice experience!

unlabelledView post →Rob Reiner did such a great job adapting Stand By Me, legend has it that Stephen King sold the rights to Misery to Castle Rock Entertainment only on the specific condition Rob Reiner direct the film. King went on to praise Misery as even better than the book. RIP to the absolute legend.

As a soloist, King is best remembered as the singer and co-composer of "Stand by Me", which became a US top 10 hit, both in 1961 and later in 1986 (when it was used as the theme to the film of the same name), and a No 1 hit in the UK in 1987. #BenEKing
