Mostly positive with strong political disagreement.

Many players praise the game's addictive management mechanics and cyberpunk theme, with one noting they played for 24 hours straight. Others highlight the satisfying power fantasy of manipulating governments and media. [3][7]

However, a significant number of players criticize the game's overt political messaging, calling it a "leftist" or "socialist" agenda that feels forced. Some also find the gameplay repetitive or shallow after the initial hours. [1][31][29]

This game oozes potential. From its premise to its simplistic, yet surprisingly deep gameplay, Spinnortality is great. However, just like its name, there is something off about it the deeper you get, until you realize this game is nigh unbeatable...and not in that good, strategy game way; but instead, due to frustrating bugs, poorly thought out mechanics, and unbalanced agenda trees that make 2 out of the 4 victory possibilities impossible beyond easy mode (even then it's a pain). RNG is…

This game is fun until it's not. The most interesting part of the game is going through the tutorial and learning the game's mechanics. Then, once you've learned the basics of the mechanics you've run out of money and start a new game. Then by the time you have a grasp of the mechanics, you realise that the game is incredibly short and shallow, and has an immediately glaring problem preventing you from effectively reaching the meat of the late-game and plot. And that is "relaunching". You…

A decent game, and quite addictive for a few hours, but it is entirely infused with leftist politics. All throughout it relentlessly mocks conservatives as xenophobic fools that just sit in echo chambers - perhaps the irony is lost on the developer, sitting in his own leftie echo chamber. There's also the inherent assumption that higher taxes are an universal moral good, lowering taxes leads - I kid you not - to violent anarchy. Now a few negatives/points that could have been improved about…

I found this game extremely frustrating to play, I assume because I just don't get how you're supposed to play it. You're playing as a megacorp at what I assume is the beginning of a corporate dystopia. You research products, then research marketing angles for those products. If you pick an angle that aligns correctly with the country you release the product in, you make money. Simple, in theory. The money you make per product goes down over time. In order to stay in the black you have to…

It's an okay game, I was definitely leaning closer to 5/10 than 4/10, or at least that was the case until the game started attacking my political demographic. Now I'm around the 3/10 mark, and here writing this negative review. I understand that it's difficult to create something without letting your personal feelings (in this case bigotry) show through, especially in literary works such as a book or video game, but the Developers failure to guard their personal feelings has put a serious…

The game involves releasing products where morality and damage to the society are ignored. This ranges from the mostly harmless tools to programs that will effectively control your whole life. While an interesting concept on paper this game boils down to "re-launching" products to gain money which is in turn used to pay your way into controlling the region. Attempts to aid in this to allow players to focus more on the changing the world in the game were poorly implemented. Automation is a…

The game could have been fun, if it wasn't for a single, terrible design idea. Your corporation becomes weaker every turn. That's because the income from your products gets lower and your workers' discontent grows higher. So, to contrast this you're forced into one of the most tedious micromanagement loops I've ever experienced. You have to monitor your products across all countries, delete them and then relaunch them. Then you've to raise the salary of your workers, so you get less and less…

Game does not calculate the turn's predicted revenue correctly... Kinda important for a business game :/ Edit : Important to note, this is sometimes to the degree of hundreds of millions of dollars late game and includes everything from the prediction in the bottom (-34 + 298 does not equal -2) to the predicted profits from launching product

I recommend it but just barely Pros: It is dripping in Cyberpunk theme It has low-key humor Good gameplay What other Cyberpunk management simulator are you going to play? Cons: The author has a political agenda and being beat over the head with Liberal Socialist politics gets annoying (and I'm not a conservative) The graphics aren't impressive Making the correct choice is as simple as figuring out the political bias that one teacher has and just conforming to it. Its not very strategic.

Really wanted to like this game, but... Firing rapists from your company in the game is wildly expensive. Punitively so and way out of line with the costs of everything else in the game. In contrast, you buy and sell employees on a regular basis as a core mechanic. Making firing this specific set of people so much more expensive cannot be justified by game mechanics and so feels like a pro-rapist political stance.

Love the concept but this is a casual game. It is not balanced and certainly not competitive at all. Highly competitive mode is a total waste of time. The board missions are broken. bug 1, board asks me to move culture and then an event happens: chaos, or special events (like contacts trying to get me reverse decision) breaks the board mission and forces me to fail it (EVEN IF I JUST FULFILLED THE BOARD REQUEST IN THE SAME TURN) bug 2, board will ask me to research incredibly late game tech…

Spinnortality is the rare business sim that doesn't just gamify capitalism—it condemns it while letting you wear its skin. The systems are rich and rewarding: manipulating public opinion, crushing competition, bribing governments, and selling immortality. It’s disturbing in the best way—and it’s all mechanically sound. The satire lands hard, not with a wink, but with a slow, well-documented collapse of ethics. I’m revisiting this game with a full intention to pursue every ending, and it still…

I really like the themes and aesthetic! But overall it's just too much clicking around minmaxing numbers - I don't feel like I'm getting to make enough meaningful decisions. I expect in a lot of companies the CEO is actually just pushing numbers around it's not really what I'm looking for from a game. (Also, the Board might have been better presented as investors - that way you could have had a COO etc to feature as NPCs! - but I'm just about self aware enough not to complain about lack of…

I never write reviews but this one just demands it. The game play is decent. There need to people a few balancing tweaks on the pace that you acquire tech vs agenda. Other than that the game play is fine for the price. The problem is that this game is rampantly progressive. There is a part where you are going to do a fly by of the moon and you are asked what you should quote. One of the options is play fox news and it is described as racist, homophobic, etc. You get all these instances where…

So, after reading a few reviews about it not having "depth" etc, I was a little wary to begin this game. I'd bought it a while back (I have a few games in my list to play...) and cyberpunk has always appealed as a setting, so I was preparing myself to be a bit disappointed. I started playing yesterday noon and apparently I've played for 24 hours (it's 10pm now...) I've played this game for 20 hours which I guess is pretty good considering I paid $10. I really like the game, the aesthetic is cool but even as it is there are some really bad balance issues. The major one being Authority, it is really "hard" and slow to get, really hard, I played 20 hours and I barely got 4 upgrades for my Authority. The next issue is money, if you micro-manage you'll have a lot, making most of the Agendas worthless--if you even get them. You need agendas to win and so I…

The game is not that balanced, you struggle even on "easy mode". Explanations are very lacking. First task I got was "Move convenience bar at 1 point". How to do it??? Which law or task would be reponsible for that? No answer, I would need to try all possible laws/ buttons to find how to do it or read some guides. That is not respecting my time.

LIKE PLAYING PLAGUE, INC WITH ONE SCENARIO ONLY As much as I like the game I can't recommend it. It suffers from several critical flaws that make the game nearly impossible to win and real grind to play. - Unless you micromanage the societies to where their graphs look like everything is thrown to the extremes, it's unwinnable. It's still almost unwinnable because the projects that make enough money to win all require you to stop all OTHER projects halfway through the game and manipulate…

The ideas are great! But nothing about this game has been executed well enough. The storylines update haphazardly and at a snail's pace. There's barely any semblance of choice because you're forced to research increasingly immoral products no matter what. Several important game mechanics are locked behind the perk tree. Random events undo player progress about as fast as you can make it. Just a great idea that was clearly beyond the skillset of the people trying to make it.

Simple and fun little game. Felt like they could have done a lot more with it, and the end drug on well past when I had 'control' and was just passing turns waiting, but the core was fun. Should be noted that if you are really over-sensitive and your identity or self worth is caught up in political ideologies, this could offend you (as noted by some other reviewers). But to a generally sane and well adjusted normal person, there's nothing in this that's unreasonable or extreme.

It's pretty basic... and you might operate under the illusion that this is some megacorp sim set in a cyberpunk universe... but then you end up researching things like "Social Media" and rooting out "SJWs and closet gays" as undesireables.. and you're expected to believe it's 2064? Just full of cringe in the flavor text.

Initially very interesting, but quickly falls off. The gameplay becomes very repetitive, and it's pretty simple to pick the optimal choice in most situations. Unlocking new "tech" on the tech tree doesn't actually provide new gameplay most of the time, so it becomes incredibly tedious. The flavor text isn't enough to pick up the slack.

Short version + Gameplay - "Story" Long version (Very vague spoilers) The game itself is relatively solid in its gameplay. For the messaging however it's a very different story. Instead of letting you play the game and draw your own conclusions, the game uses an event system to force feed you the "correct" message (capitalism bad). You can play the game in the most "ethical" way ever, making sure to choose every choice where you put ethics before profit and you will still have the same story…

I'm only a few hours in, but I can confidently say that if this game sounds interesting, then you should get it. It's only $10, and you will easily get more fun out of it than a few coffees from Starbucks. In its nuts and bolts, this is a business sim -- with one key, critical difference. In a normal business sim, factors like government regulations and customer demand are external, over which you have no control. It is very different from other "world domination" game, even dictator ruler can't shape everything, but megacorp in dystopia world can manipulate almost everything, including culture( people mindset ). Unfortunately, this game is currently is an extremely broken state. The game didn't do as well as the dev hoped, so he was unable to provide as much continuing support as he'd planned. This resulted in a patch being pushed out without adequate testing that has rendered the game not-quite uncompletable.
