unlabelledView post →Thinking about movie titles that are broad enough that they could apply to basically any movie. So far I have: - We Live In Time (2024) - Life (2017) - Some People (1962) - Snakes on a Plane (2006)

unlabelledView post →In celebration of @avclub.com's 2006 week, I wrote about 2006's most 2006 movie: Snakes On A Plane, Hollywood's would-be test balloon for the burgeoning social media landscape. www.avclub.com/snakes-on-a-...

My shirt is worn out now so it's time for a new one. Yours probably is too. Only available through August! topatoco.com/collections/...
unlabelledView post →The last time you had any excuse for thinking a joke premise that made your friends laugh could sustain an actual movie was the week before Snakes on a Plane came out
unlabelledView post →Snakes On A Plane. I remember basically nothing about the film but the house was packed and every one of us was ready for exactly the nonsense that we got
unlabelledView post →I've been to THE ROOM and I've been to ROCKY HORROR, but the only time I've ever done that kind of wild call-and-response thing at a normal movie screening was SNAKES ON A PLANE, and I felt like such a tool afterwards because, it turns out, not everybody in the theater was as terminally online as me
unlabelledView post →1) Snakes on a Plane premiere. Shit got rowdy. 2) Avengers: Endgame premiere. "Rowdy" can't even describe it. 3) Only person to watch Ingmar Bergman's final film Saraband at an arthouse theater. It was HAUNTING. 4) First saw Monsieur Hulot's Holiday while fighting severe depression. I'm indebted.

unlabelledView post →Snakes on a Plane was the greatest movie of all time, but only if you saw it in theaters on opening weekend
unlabelledView post →Currently watching Flight 7500 on #Svengoolie. This is the film that asks the cinematic question "What would happen if you took the film Snakes on a Plane and replaced the snakes with unlikable jerks?"
unlabelledView post →Do they show the movie Snakes on a Plane on planes?
unlabelledView post →Go see this movie. Prove the higher-ups wrong. Unlike Snakes on a Plane or Morbius where people didn’t show up despite the online buzz, this has good reviews and people seem to genuinely like it.
unlabelledView post →I think there's a case for SNAKES ON A PLANE being the first "meme movie." Like, every of us watched the movie with the promise of being the dumbest shit possible. They did re-shoots to match our collective craving for the dumbest shit possible.
unlabelledView post →Snakes on a Plane (2006 720p). Snakes on a Plane is a 2006 American action thriller film directed by David R. Ellis and starring Samuel L. Jackson. The film was written by David Dalessandro, John Heffernan, and Sebastian Gutierrez and follows the events of dozens of venomous snakes being released on a passenger plane in an attempt to kill a trial witness. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakes_on_a_Plane
unlabelledView post →I've mentioned it before but Snakes on a Plane opening midnight showing. Only people in the theater were me and my stoned friends and a group of drunk frat boys and we spent the entire movie just riffing and laughing together. We even all stood up and said the iconic SLJ line in unison when it came
unlabelledView post →So one of my many crack theories is that this was the movie they stole the idea for Snakes on a Plane from. It's plot is almost 1:1 I cant prove it but its true. I can feel it.
unlabelledView post →It sounds like the marketing of BOAN is what's worth studying, not the film itself. Like SNAKES ON A PLANE.
unlabelledView post →The fact that they clearly got Samuel L. Jackson to say the line we all demanded from Snakes on a Plane is the "Say the line Bart" of my movie going experience. Honorable Mention: James Cromwell being the first person to use the phrase "Star Trek" on screen.
unlabelledView post →For context: "SNAKES ON A PLANE" was the first movie that got made explicitly because "It had internet buzz." A producer posted on a "Stories about stupid script summaries" forum that the goffiest one-line summary he'd seen for a real screenplay was "Snakes on a plane;" a nerd site got obsessed...
unlabelledView post →In 2006 there was a website that allowed one to make a synthetic Samuel L. Jackson call their friends and berate them into seeing the movie "Snakes on a Plane." The Gen Alpha mind simply cannot comprehend this.
unlabelledView post →Oh my god, the credits to SNAKES ON A PLANE roll while a music video for a shitty song about the movie plays. The title of the song is "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)" by Cobra Starship, The Academy Is..., Gym Class Heroes, and The Sounds. Holy Fucking Shit. Welcome Back to 2006.
unlabelledView post →Snakes on a Plane was a great cultural moment. It's really sad that the movie didn't actually deliver the capper in the way it could have. Seeing Black Panther on opening weekend was better. Easily the best cultural payoff ever.
unlabelledView post →"Trump is kind of like the movie Snakes on a Plane. Sure the idea is entertaining. But an actual snake on your plane would be terrifying. And that's what's happening now. The plane is American democracy. And the snake is Trump" -Seth Meyers
unlabelledView post →When I went to see Snakes on a Plane the theatre flash flooded and we had to walk out in ankle deep water. Actually never seen that entire film to this day.
unlabelledView post →Why is it that the only movie they ever show on Air Force One is Snakes on a Plane?
unlabelledView post →One of two extremes: 1) Opening night for Avengers: Endgame. HOLY HELL, that place was *electric.* I've never been a part of an audience that wild, and I was there for the opening night Snakes on a Plane antics. 2) Being the only person in the theater for Ingmar Bergman's final film, Saraband. 📽️
unlabelledView post →Also it doesn't have to be dinosaurs, honestly. You know how SNAKES ON A PLANE was basically a movie where the title was also a pitch, how about a movie called MONSTERS EATING BILLIONAIRES
unlabelledView post →I saw Snakes On a Plane opening night with a crowd determined to MST3K that movie. Nothing will ever be able to equal going in not expecting a rowdy, smart ass crowd and getting more than I expected out of it.

unlabelledView post →www.avclub.com/snakes-on-a-... I disagree with the premise that Snakes On A Plane was a failure. It’s a B movie and not a blockbuster, it earned triple its budget back, and Warner Bros are notorious for their Hollywood accounting (they still consider HP & LOTR financial failures!). SOAP did fine.
unlabelledView post →Watching the Everything Wrong with Snakes on a Plane YouTube video from CinemaSins and they gave the Movie a sin for putting snakes on the plane because it wasn’t “realistic”. That is the WHOLE MOVIE! If they hadn’t done that we all would have been rightly pissed for being lied to!

unlabelledView post →Snakes on a Plane. On. I mean, they were technically speaking in the plane but that’s not the name of the movie.
