37 of 37 · most liked firstthis brought a cursed long-buried memory back to me, of the ending to the Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson vehicle Shanghai Knights when they say goodbye to a rascally kid who had been helping them all movie OWEN WILSON: I never got your name. RASCALLY KID: The name's Chaplin. Charlie Chaplin.
unlabelledView post →Aside from that, if I were craving punching and kicking action, I'd just randomly pick a Jackie Chan movie I hadn't seen yet, because my god is that man the best to ever do it. Shanghai Knights, for instance, is a bit of a doofy movie, but I love the fight scenes in it.
unlabelledView post →I was watching Shanghai Knights recently, not exactly the most prestigious film I'd ever claim to have seen, but I remember thinking how brightly lit and colourfully warm it looked compared to so much contemporary movies.
unlabelledView post →Three: to escape a summer heat wave, we decided Jackie Chan’s Shanghai Knights was a good excuse for some air conditioning — and I fell absolutely in love with that goofy, weird, anachronistic film. Saw it three times in theaters that week, worth it for the choreography alone.
unlabelledView post →20. Shanghai Knights (2003 movie) It's honestly everything that made the first movie so fun multiplied tenfold. Once again proving that Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are a great dynamic duo and the choreography is a highlight. It's a super memorable movie that's on my highly recommended list! 4.5/5

unlabelledView post →I want to say the first Jackie Chan film I saw was Shanghai Knights, lmfao.
unlabelledView post →speaking of silly movies, i watched Shanghai Knights and no movie has ever been as 2003 as that movie is 2003. oof. i had the idea though that Owen Wilson might make a good Rincewind, spawned by a single moment in which his character Roy O'Bannon is justifying something cowardly. ehh i could see it
unlabelledView post →As a kid I saw a copy of Shanghai Knights, and I assumed Owen Wilson must've been another martial arts film star like Jackie Chan.
unlabelledView post →If you watch it for anything have it be for the fate of Donnie Yen’s charcter #film #movie #letterboxd #ShanghaiKnights boxd.it/b6mCwv
unlabelledView post →Shanghai Knights This is a lot like the first movie, but slightly more British. The change in setting is neat, but it has the same quirks including the fight scenes with weird choreography. Owen Wilson says the word "wow", so it's worth watching the film for that alone. 4/5

unlabelledView post →Not HK but I think Shanghai Knights is actually his best Hollywood film (they allocated more time to shoot fights) and it has an English villain who fights with a sword so of course there's gonna be a swordfight later... ;)
unlabelledView post →I really love Shanghai Knights, it’s like a don knots/tim Conway movie with kung fu.
unlabelledView post →After gaining regional exposure and popularity in Asia through film and television productions, she became the first Singaporean actress to break into Hollywood, playing Chon Lin in the 2003 film Shanghai Knights. She married actor Christopher Lee on 29 September 2009.
unlabelledView post →The Jackie Chan movie Shanghai Knights an interesting twists on the fights. Some of Jackie's opponents had threatened a kid so they got severely punched in the face. Others were just doing their jobs so they got peacefully locked behind barriers or tied to poles. No punching. Good writing.

unlabelledView post →My reasons for this shipping? Well Tom Fisher and Aiden Gillen had worked together before, 2 times in fact! First in the film “Shanghai Knights” (2003) (where Tom Fisher played Sir Arthur “Artie” Doyle and Aidan Gillen played Lord Nelson Rathbone respectively, as shown in the first picture)
unlabelledView post →yes! Shanghai Knights (2003), i must admit i did like the first one more (maybe just from seeing it more) but its a great sequel, definitely worth a watch if youve never seen it
unlabelledView post →Did you know there is a movie where Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen fight? And dod you know that movie is Shanghai Knights?!

unlabelledView post →Hercules with Lou Ferrigno is the only movie I have walked out on. Highlander II I saw on opening day in a theater packed full of excited nerds like me. We watched in silence then filed out like witnesses to a grisly murder. I would’ve walked out of Shanghai Knights but I was too angry to move.

unlabelledView post →Wilson and Chan are a great comedy duo. Love this movie. Shanghai Knights is fun too.
unlabelledView post →In the movie Shanghai Knights, actress Fann Wong played a lady attracted to Owen Wilson, so she knew kissing would happen in the script. But Owen hallucinates kissing gone wrong, so Fann played a wild, wild yet entirely PG scene. Did it mess with her head? Curious.
unlabelledView post →The movie 'Shanghai Knights'. About five actresses did a scene where they weren't...real...they were playing hallucinations of themselves. I wonder if that messes with their head. They weren't doing scenes of actual people, they were doing scenes of some guy having nice PG-13 thoughts.

unlabelledView post →I had this weird realization today that I'm like 75% sure I saw the movie Shanghai Knights in theaters and I have no idea why and no memory of it. Like I was in college at the time so it's not like my family dragged me to it, and I didn't take drugs, so that's not it either

unlabelledView post →SHANGHAI KNIGHTS is maybe Jackie Chan's only American film where the fights truly feel of a piece with his Hong Kong work. Not quite at that level of quality, but the variety, the staging and pacing, the editing rhythms, it's all right on.
