unlabelledView post →remembering back to this time where some friends and family were all at the table having a light debate about the movie Shallow Hal and how it was messy/problematic and my dad chimed in like "it was about seeing inner beauty and how being shallow is bad" and honestly, he was spittin
unlabelledView post →A silly movie poster based off Shallow Hal (2001), a cute romantic comedy about seeing people for their inner beauty. 😆 Have you watched it? #baldursgate3 #bg3 #halsin #astarion #baldursgate3cosplay
unlabelledView post →The irony being the phenomenon he describes was the premise for his film “Shallow Hal” over two decades ago
unlabelledView post →All right, loves, today I'm gonna: *ride the exercise bike *listen to our Shallow Hal podcast *watch a movie (maybe Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain?) *make dinner (pork tenderloin with roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts)
unlabelledView post →That or a long form adaptation of the 2001 film Shallow Hal starring Clifford (everyone’s favourite Muppet.)
unlabelledView post →Remember “Shallow Hal”?! That movie didn’t age poorly it was really horrible the very day the concept was formed 😩
unlabelledView post →I'm watching this video and realizing all of these people look like their true selves, just like the movie Shallow Hal. The ugliness in their souls becomes the true face they really wear, and the one we all must suffer seeing.
unlabelledView post →Shallow Hal was a "sympathetic" movie.
unlabelledView post →“Sometimes I feel like Jack Black in the movie Shallow Hal marveling over Gwyneth Paltrow's beauty while everyone else around me thinks I'm crazy.” - cybertruck owner Simply incredible.
unlabelledView post →Only SHALLOW HAL has also elicited the question "Is this movie evil?"
unlabelledView post →I tried to explain it to someone by saying it's like reverse Shallow Hal (but TBH, I've never watched the movie, just seen clips). I expect myself to be in a larger body than I am in. I am shocked when I look at myself - especially my face. So, this is where we come back to the Biggest Loser doco.
unlabelledView post →i worked as an usher in a chain movie theatre when "Shallow Hal" came out and the only good thing about that movie was "Comfort Eagle" playing over the credits while we cleaned. it was tight as hellll.
unlabelledView post →#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched Finally saw prey, I liked the idea of having a native heroine. Shallow Hal was neither Jack Black's nor the Farrelly's best film. The Wild Robot was a friend's recommendation which I really enjoyed. The Asterix movie was still fun to watch.
unlabelledView post →i mean i'm the person that wrote the third most popular review of Shallow Hal on Letterboxd where i basically say "this movie is deeply problematic but also strangely endearing to me" the most popular review is scathing as heck, and it's all true lol, even if i still like the movie

unlabelledView post →Your tv is showing the true reflection of the person’s soul. The movie Shallow Hal comes to mind. 😳😂
unlabelledView post →So far struggling in finding Movies to watch for Movie Night. - Hope Floats was not for me. - The Day the Earth Stood Still was too scary. and now I'm trying Shallow Hal.
unlabelledView post →"Shallow Hal" kink movie/comic/story/etc where a guy with unrealistic body standards gets "cursed/punished" to become absolutely obsessed with enormous fat whale-sized folks for all to see, worshiping them in a crazed trance. They keep him as a feeder/pet before eventually swallowing him whole.
unlabelledView post →Listen, I know it’s a bad movie. But that bit in Shallow Hal where the dude cuts her a small slice of cake, only for her to take the whole cake instead is hot as hell
unlabelledView post →It's wild how celebrities always die in threes. First Malcolm-Jamal Warner, then Ozzy Osbourne, and now A Vermont man known for his role in the 2001 film "Shallow Hal".
unlabelledView post →I was listening to Maintenance Phrase talk about Shallow Hal. I forgot how bad that movie was.
unlabelledView post →Gwyneth Paltrow completely betrays the moral of her greatest movie, Shallow Hal.
unlabelledView post →Every time Instagram feeds me some clip of Jason Alexander talking into a microphone it dawns on me that I haven’t seen him act in a film since Shallow Hal.
unlabelledView post →SHALLOW HAL remains the only film I left the theater during.
unlabelledView post →Watching Shallow Hal for the millionth time. I love this movie.
unlabelledView post →The Doc and I saw some SHIT when we dated: Shallow Hal, From Hell, Scary Movie 2. But in retrospect 24 years on, it’s definitely Harry Potter 1.
unlabelledView post →If MAGA took over Hollywood, every TV drama would be another iteration of Walker: Texas Ranger except more violent. Every sitcom would be the ugliness of the movie Shallow Hal presented in earnest.
unlabelledView post →I couldn't remember the name of the movie I Feel Pretty so I called it reverse Shallow Hal. Don't think it's wrong. This is also where we learn Shallow Hal came out 2 mo after 9/11 & that's what the nation needed to heal: Jack Black making fun of fat women. No I'm not explaining how we got here.
unlabelledView post →What about Shallow Hal? I loved that movie!!!
unlabelledView post →In the movie "Shallow Hal," Paltrow's fat body double wore a dress I owned at the time in one scene and I threw the dress out that same day. It never turns out to be cool!
unlabelledView post →Shallow Hal, a 2001 film by Brothers Peter Farrelly & Bob Farrelly, Mauricio (Jason Alexander) explains to Hal Larsen (Jack Black) you can't make a comeback after 8 seconds and you have 3 or 5 seconds tops. "That's why they call it a quip, not a slow."
unlabelledView post →it's ok because Shrek is also unattractive. Even in most beauty/beast films the ugly male is transformed to match the woman's beauty. Shallow Hal is the ONLY movie I can think of that ends with the male character in love with his girlfriend even if she is understood to be less attractive than he is.
unlabelledView post →I hate Jack Black mainly cos of Shallow Hal cos that film and everyone involved in it belongs in the cold wet ground but also because he really did serve to make Jackson's King Kong as shit as it could possibly be.
unlabelledView post →Gen X is a cesspool as some of the most scummy cynical and bigoted bottom of the barrel pop culture ever. Eminem, South Park, Limp Bizkit, The Man Show, Jackass, Shallow Hal, Scary Movie, Duke Nukem, Cannibal Corpse, Dane Cook, HTF, Newgrounds .etc A generally toxic and hateful era for media
unlabelledView post →Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie from the year you turned 18? okay, yes, I'm cheating, but there were too many good choices also, my nemesis movie from the same year: Shallow Hal
unlabelledView post →See the thing about Shallow Hal is the Mise-en-scène in this film is better than any other film ever made.
unlabelledView post →I have seen SO MANY bad movies in theaters due to other people dragging me to them. A list: The Ladies Man Shallow Hal What the Bleep Do We Know Doom maybe Date Movie? one of those The Fountain (this one alone might suck less as a whole-ass adult; unclear)
unlabelledView post →I always think of the movie Shallow Hal
unlabelledView post →Guy whose favorite movie is Shallow Hal
unlabelledView post →Remember the movie "Shallow Hal"? 😉👍

unlabelledView post →in high school I met Roger Clemens before we all went to the movie theater. he saw Shallow Hal and I saw Monsters Inc
unlabelledView post →Remember Shallow Hal? How the fuck has anyone involved in that movie still got a career, jesus wept.
unlabelledView post →Shallow Hal isn't conventionally attractive (sorry Jack), and Gwenneth is portrayed as "beautiful/skinny" for most of the movie. The "twist" was an unattractive dude fell for an unattractive woman via magic deception (or w/e, not genuinely). Does not fit. 💁🏼♀️
unlabelledView post →Briar was even kind enough to come back and bring their partner @shellcollector.bsky.social (our first ever two guest episode) to talk about Shallow Hal, a film that we described as ontologically evil. The episode, though? Ontologically great!
unlabelledView post →Two months ago, I saw a provocative movie on cable TV. It was called Shallow Hal, with that girl from the box
unlabelledView post →That part of the movie Shallow Hal when he sees people’s inner beauty, but the opposite.
unlabelledView post →Maybe the movie takes place in the same universe as Shallow Hal and they could have got Tony Robbins
unlabelledView post →Shallow Hal is such an insane premise for a movie even on its own terms. A guy's gonna learn a lesson about being shallow by...always being able to see the innermost value of a soul as represented in conventional attractiveness?
unlabelledView post →Reminds me of that Shallow Hal film
unlabelledView post →Comedy in the 2000s was when things got really desperately unfunny. Shit like Shallow Hal, The Dictator/Borat, Trailer Park Boys, Little Britain, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Ugly Betty, Scary Movie, anything from those Farrelly Brothers wanksocks. and most notably Friends and FUCKING SOUTH PARK!
unlabelledView post →Shallow Hal was made 2000/2001 so even if it was shot on film, it was probably transferred to digital and edited on an AVID. Your point stands, but I'm being a pedant.
unlabelledView post →Shallow Hal was shot on film.
unlabelledView post →Yeah it's like the movie Shallow Hal. If we saw her as she really is on the inside she'd look like the personification of Trump's neck vag.
unlabelledView post →and I think it's valuable to think about how these narratives were also simplified and amplified through media at the time. Shrek, Supersize Me, Idiocracy, The Simpsons Movie, Shallow Hal, "The Itis" ep of the Boondocks, and Wall-E, to name a few all were born from and react these sentiments.
unlabelledView post →Has Jack Black seen the movie Shallow Hal?
