positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shadow of the Tomb Raider offers the best game of the trilogy. While the jungle might be a place of death, the game really comes to life with a nice balance of puzzles, combat and exploring. A true ending to a awesome trilogy.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spent over on hour on a physics puzzle to no avail thinking I was losing my mind, thinking I must've softlocked it somehow --and even if that was the case that would've only meant that it was a badly designed puzzle anyways-- but it turns out that it was a case of the "physics" part of the puzzle just completely breaking after a certain amount of tries. I understood the puzzle correctly, knew exactly what the solution was but the only "sofltock" I got was more or less a bug. This game is seven…

unlabelledView post →First off let me say that while this is a negative review, SotTR is not a terrible game. It's a well polished AAA that just happens to have enough issues to make it a disappointing end to the reboot trilogy. Steam does not let me rate a game out of 10 and I'm unwilling to give it a thumbs up, so here we are. Let's start with what the game does well. The environmental design in this game is superb. The variation isn't huge because there's no globe hopping in this game (you'll be seeing a lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After going through this trilogy reboot in a week and beating all the main story content, I truly have to say that this series of the reboot tomb raider games have to truly be the best 3 games I have played back to back in a very long time, I wish I got to it alot sooner than waiting years to play them. All 3 of these games were not missing at all the story, combat everything about a game just gets better and better each game you play, they are all bangers and filled with amazing thriller…

unlabelledView post →Beautiful, But Not Better Than Rise! It is a great looking game, but empty. The story kind of doesn't have a point, no memorable characters, boring quests, not to mention the gameplay which didn't changed in any way from the previous two, it kind of felt worse to shoot than Rise to be honest, a wasted potential. I really wished they kept the quality from Rise of Tomb Raider (the best in my opinion), that game was perfect, from the exciting plot, to the action and gameplay, everything.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Am playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider from eight years ago and it's a game that looks like it was released yesterday. Eight years in the 90/00s was a lightyear in graphics. Today, its inches. You'd think this plateau would lead to an explosion of stylistic choices to stand out and yet...

I wasn't a HUGE fan of Shadow of the Tomb Raider honestly, I still loved the game but it's far on my favorites list. However, the design was one I was really excited with 🥰 📸 @erikarts.bsky.social

I haven't finished the game, I'm at 81% as of writing this review. Cons: - Story is terrible. The bad guys have very little screen time, compared to the first or second game. This makes the game like it has no real purpose. You see glimpses of them, then its just killing random npcs. - Relationship with Jonah makes no sense, why do they include a conflict…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Tomb Raider, the 2013 reboot, a couple of years ago, and it blew me away on every level. Mature, fun, action-packed, and graphically? Over 10 years later, it still puts 90% of new releases to shame. Then came Rise of the Tomb Raider: great game too, but mostly more of the same. Shadow, however, is a downgrade in almost every respect, including visually. You heard YouTubers praising its graphics? Me too. They lied. The story? I’m not even sure what it’s about. It’s mostly Lara…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →January 1st. Time to start a backlog game today! I’m thinking one of the Tomb Raider games. I have Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider on there. Probably gonna play Rise since it came out first.
unlabelledView post →One of the prettiest games I’ve ever played. And a massive upgrade compared to the last game. The only thing that wasn’t great was the story, kinda all over the place, I think Rise of the Tomb Raider did the story the best, but the exploration and tombs here easily made up for it.

I will say its the best in terms of cinematic shots and visuals in the series, every part of the peru was thrilling, it was very engaing, i liked the pacing too it was good. I will recommend it to the people who want to play some action adventure game, u will love this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an exhilarating and unforgettable experience that captures the very essence of what the franchise has always promised - adventure, exploration, and awe-inspiring discovery. From the moment you start, you’re thrown into a thrilling world of climbing, crawling, diving, shooting, stealthily sneaking around, zip-lining through canopies, and hunting in dense, atmospheric jungles. The story is compelling and mature, with fantastic performances across the board.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shadow of the Tomb Raider has a braid in the game files and I modded it to her head here. Unfortunately it doesn't actually work (it has no physics) but if you line it up just right it makes a great photo.
unlabelledView post →I already fell in love with Tomb Raider after the first two games, but Shadow takes it to another level. I saw people saying the story isn’t as good as the previous games, but I honestly don’t agree. For me, this was one of the strongest stories. It builds on Rise, shows more about her family, and just keeps you interested the whole time. The graphics are amazing, side missions are fun, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Same as the first two, 10/10, just love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The masochist plays another modern Tomb Raider game. I actually liked this one a lot at for a bit. I easily enjoyed this one more than the second entry, but for me I find this franchise stays so bland despite any changes. To get some positives out of the ways, I finally wised up and played at a difficulty above normal. I played at One With the Jungle and it is such a major blessing to have Lara shut up during puzzles. Anything at that difficulty and above, she doesn't give constant feedback…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the second game in this trilogy a lot and thus I was eager to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Yet, unfortunetly, I did not reach the same highs as the previous game. The atmosphere is stunning, yet it got disturbed by an enormous amount of bugs. Many bugs were visual and audial, which broke the immersion a lot, and there was even one bug that hindered me passing a puzzle. The latter one is simply to say unaccpetable... Besides that, I realy enjoyed the stealth mechanic! It was…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →in this game the focus was clearly put on cinematics and direction. the characters feel more believable, more realistic, and it’s much easier to emotionally trust them. but in exchange for all of that, the game completely lost its original charm. there’s no longer that amazing level design, interesting tombs or excitement from exploring the world. the game basically turned into a regular story-driven experience. weapon and skill progression - meh. i never actually felt the need to upgrade…

unlabelledView post →Although not a bad game that was okay enough to play to completion, I can't recommend it. Too many game breaking bugs. Literally preventing progress at one stage unless you set graphics settings specifically to 60 FPS with sync. The dialog is pretty meh at times. Lots of places seem to have been poorly play tested and setup, sometimes as bad as just not jumping towards the next ledge along and instead just jumping straight into the abyss, or throwing the rope wildly in a random direction,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Within about 2 hours of actual gameplay I've already encountered two massive bugs one of which literally prevents you from continuing the game. It started with an audio dialogue bug where the characters decided to stop speaking (which also meant subtitles no longer functioned) the fix to this was to download the German voices so that I could swap to that (which fixes the problem) and then swap back to English. The 2nd bug breaks an entire MAIN STORY puzzle from functioning making it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rolled credits on Tomb Raider 2013. This was such a good game, and now I can see why modern Tomb Raider is so beloved. I will get around to playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider at some point in the future.
unlabelledView post →Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the end of the trilogy and it’s honestly just more of the same. The gameplay is still peak. The stealth is the best part—stalking guys in the jungle like a mud-covered predator is badass. The tombs are also the best they’ve ever been; they’re actually complex and fun to solve. Plus, the game looks incredible. But the story is a total mess. It’s a melodramatic apocalypse plot that’s hard to care about, and the pacing is dragged down by way too many forced walking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just boring? I can't explain why. The combat seems really low stakes, preventing the end of the world is a dumb story, the enemies are super dense and very forgiving, and the dlc weapons solve all problems you could ever have, and the movement/exploration is so janky that they just let you reload to the moment right before you died. I liked the previous 2 games, they were solid and the game handled everything well enough, but the hidden tombs in all these 3 games kind of just suck... and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a beautiful way to finish Lara Croft’s journey. The exploration and tombs are easily the best part of the game. The environments look amazing, and finding hidden locations and solving puzzles never gets old. The story also has some really emotional moments and gives Lara’s character more depth. The combat can feel repetitive at times, and the stealth isn’t always perfect, but the atmosphere, visuals, exploration, and soundtrack make up for it. Not a perfect…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the first 10 hours, I was really confused why this was considered the worst in the trilogy, sure some of the side missions are pointless filler, but once I got to Paititi, that's when the cracks started to show. For those who are unaware Crystal Dynamics was about halfway through the development of this game, until the publisher Square Enix got the license to make the marvel's avengers game. Riding high on the peak popularity of the marvel movies, they tasked Crystal Dynamics to make that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Forced walking segments. Cutscene after cutscene after cutscene. Nobody ever shuts the ♥♥♥♥ up. Completely meh characters with a story that totally fails to hook you at all. Only plus is that even 8 years later it is still visually gorgeous, but everything else is a vast downgrade from the previous games. Should have let Crystal Dynamics make this one as well. Legitimately one of the most boring games Ive tried playing in years, I couldnt even stomach making it halfway.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to like the Survivor trilogy, I really did, but no amount of nostalgia I might hold for this franchise can conceal the tepid feelings I have regarding these games. Before you jump down my throat, it's not that I hate Shadow of the Tomb Raider, nor is it a bad game as such, but it strikes me that it doesn't quite know what it wants to be. In its striving to set itself apart from its closest competitor - the Uncharted series - the franchise seems to have lost its identity in a game design…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve played every Tomb Raider game, and honestly? This one is hands down my favourite so far. The story pacing is spot on. It never drags, never rushes, and actually lets you enjoy the ride. I love being able to freely explore and stumble across all kinds of goodies. Hidden tombs, relics, some challenging puzzles, treasures, basically catnip for completionists. The gear and skill system is great too, earning skill points via XP and some abilities are earned by completing Tomb Challenges.…

unlabelledView post →Some things are better than in two previous parts, some are worse, but still awesome game. However, after all that years, there are still many bugs, random freezing, crashing, audio and subtitles are not working during a lot of cutscenes, there are workarounds to fix it, but still, very annoying
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shadow of the Tomb Raider keeps alive my hatred of dealing with human enemies in any Tomb Raider game. Vast improvements over the older games, but I still hate this. The swimming mechanics are peak - especially since she can still swan dive
unlabelledView post →An amazing adventure game set in beautiful Mesoamerican jungles. Pros: Atmosphere: The world in this game is absolutely amazing. Scenery, authentic spoken languages, and wildlife significantly add to the weight and immersion of the game. Exploration and Puzzles: Combined with the great atmosphere, collecting all sorts of artifacts while running around the map feels relaxing and not tedious at all. The hidden puzzle areas are much better thought-out and harder this time around. You might get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really satisfying one to 100%. The tombs are the highlight again clever, challenging, and fun to figure out. Exploration feels great, and the jungle setting adds a cool atmosphere the whole way through. Some collectibles take patience, but overall it’s a rewarding completion that feels properly earned. 🏆🌿
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had to absolutely game it out today but got past the 50-min barrier in Shadow of the Tomb Raider! Can go lower but I'll take a 49:54 for now!
unlabelledView post →The game contains a lot of bugs. The puzzles sometimes get stuck, and I often have to restart the game. Also, when Lara rappels down a rope, the rope sometimes completely disappears or glitches. The graphics are good though. Overall, I would give the game a 5/10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game. I had a great time playing with my daughter on Steam Deck. The overall action is very cool, also the puzzles and the platforming. Great game! And it runs great on Steam Deck. I set the graphics quality to medium and got a stable 60fps through all the game.
