60 of 141 · most liked firstSerenity: Universal was hoping for its own Star Wars; Joss Whedon delivered an art film metaphor about networks and studios controlling art and destroying artists. Cowboy Bebop meets Millennium Falcon fanfic shouldn't be the single greatest movie EVER MADE... but here we are. #FilmSky Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
unlabelledView post →You’d think the part of Serenity that aged worst is Joss Whedon getting to make a movie but it’s actually that broadcasting proof of an atrocity is the undoing of the people who committed it
unlabelledView post →There's a scene in the movie Serenity where 'the Operative' comments to another character something like, "in some cultures, a man who failed as completely as you have, would fall on his sword, rather than bear the same of it." Not sure why that just came to mind.

unlabelledView post →It's only now that I am older and Wiser and aware to the sinful nature of Man and Joss Whedon in particular among men that I have become fully aware of quite how much attention Summer Glau's feet get in the film Serenity.
unlabelledView post →About the unproduced Firefly/Serenity animated feature "I wanna stress that it's not an adaptation of the film. It's a prequel. You know those little animated features like Animatrix and the one for Chronicles of Riddick? They wanted to do one of those for Serenity. Brett Matthews, an..."
unlabelledView post →Oh I finally saw Serenity. No not that one, the one with Matthew McConaughey. God I knew the infamous twist ahead of time so the movie wasn’t as baffling an experience as it could have been. But it really makes NO sense when you think about it for like. five seconds.
unlabelledView post →Honestly, the most disappointing news about the Firefly reboot that I've heard is that it takes place before the 2005 Serenity movie and not after it. I realize this is probably so Wash and maybe Book can take part, but I kinda low-key loathe prequels.
unlabelledView post →The key here is not only an untold part of a story, but the vehicle for that telling, which is always characters. A "new" Firefly set between the series and Serenity is the same bunch of people and whatever they do, we know they all get to the movie.
unlabelledView post →Still hoping to see Serenity Rose in movie form someday. Live action, all medium shots, indifferently lit, with the intricately-rendered CG city of Crestfallen sorta blurry in the background. This is the way.
unlabelledView post →Serenity is a good movie with an all time villian and the show was just an ehh but promising thing that could have been (but probably would’ve been bad)
unlabelledView post →What's everyone up to this Saturday night? I just finished watching Serenity, the movie based on the series "Firefly". Such a great movie! I really wish the series lasted longer and caught on more.
unlabelledView post →Watched Firefly with the kiddo, so today we watched the Serenity movie. Kiddo just came up to me, "look, I made the front of a Reaver ship!"
unlabelledView post →watching Serenity and: -This movie is 20 years old -Dennis from always sunny is the guy that river points out who gets captured by reavers and shot by Mal in the opening
unlabelledView post →After ‘Firefly’ was cancelled, the fandom made it a point to support any and every project featuring actors from the show to boost the profile of the series and the ‘Serenity’ film. That’s going to be me in reverse with the new Harry Potter series. Any established actor who signs on is dead to me.
unlabelledView post →My first Serenity Rose student film from 1999. Ripped from a VHS tape, I believe. I wonder if CalArts has nicer copies of this stuff... (Probably not?) www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbMd...
unlabelledView post →"The proposed series is set in the timeline between the original 2002 television run and its 2005 feature film continuation, Serenity, " Put aside whether or not you like Firefly or not, but this is inherently self-limiting and shows a lack of wanting to expand the playground in any way whatsoever.

unlabelledView post →Picking a (not so) random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Year 2, Day #257 "Serenity" (Joss Whedon/2005) Yes, Joss Whedon is a giant douche nozzle but God damn this movie kicks so much fucking ass! Check it out.
unlabelledView post →Seeing that movie blind on opening night in a theater full of women thinking they were getting a Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway dark erotic thriller and instead getting Serenity (2019) is one of my favorite movie experiences

unlabelledView post →more serenity drawing from 2017 Serenity and Tim drawings on 2017FEB24, FEB15 , FEB03, and JAN13 Tim's an aspiring film maker so there was some joke about him making pornos. He is a big guy who is kind of self aware but also lack confidence, so I emphasize with him more then with some other pairings

unlabelledView post →And besides all that, Firefly was of its time, the film Serenity was a good closure and people need to stop falling for nostalgia and let things go. 4/

unlabelledView post →"The attraction of a film like Serenity with its 'get out the signal' storyline is that it sells the idea of a single dramatic, high-stakes moment as the catalyst for wide-ranging systemic change." Good essay. (Spoilers for Serenity, The Matrix, Children of Men, & Superman (2025).)
unlabelledView post →I knew I was going to like Backrooms, but what Chiwetel Ejiofor does with his performance is on another level. Ever since I saw him in Serenity I've loved him in pretty much everything he's done. In Backrooms he basically carries the entire movie on his shoulders. It's a tour de force in acting.
