60 of 85 · most liked firstSecret Files 3 treads on very thin ice. It's short, it's got an overly complicated plot line and just doesn't have the charm of the first two games. Not to mention the ending involved watching a 5 second long cut scene and finding out what happened after the end of the game with some images and text. Then, for no reason other than to add some 'levity' they tagged on a terrible 'outtake' reel. It fell right through the ice and died a death. At the moment, I'm not looking forward to 4/Sam Peters…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still playable but worst of the series (haven't played Sam Peters yet). Recommended for 5 Euro or less Pros: Decent voice acting – third time around they’ve finally managed to get it more or less right. Very nice backgrounds and some interesting camera angles Mostly logical puzzles Good music Cons: Character animations for performing actions – or actually lack of it. It’s really big downgrade since previous installments Plot-wise its weakest of the three Very week secondary characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a fan of Secret Files, but this game was just a disappointment. The puzzles were a bit more realistic, but the game was ridiculously short and the story was lacking. Not worth the 5€ I spent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Third time's a charm they say. After another total replacement of the voice cast, they finally nailed it. The new voice acting may not be award-winning, but at least it doesn't annoy and distract anymore. Also, object interactions have a lot less "quest logic" and more life logic this time. In fact, this was pretty much the first adventure game in a long while where I didn't have to resort to any kind of extra help. This is the first game in the Secret Files franchise which I fully enjoyed and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The same overly unrealistic puzzles you know from the first two games, except that these now have ones that will punish you if you misstep and have you repeat the same tedious stuff just in order to provide filler material and make the game seem longer than it is. Unless you're really prepared to suffer just to play another installment of the series just because you've endured fownsides of the first two, do yourself a favor and use your money to buy a different game instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another less than impressive entry in the Secret Files series. At least they replaced the annoying voice actors, but otherwise the game felt way too run-of-the-mill and rushed. The story doesn't make much sense, skips exposition when it wants to and ends very suddenly. Yes, we finally get at least some kind of answers, but at least I thought those answers were pretty dumb. It's a better game than the suckadelic Part Two, but still a good measure below average.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a quintessential old-school point-and-click adventure. Although the animation and graphics may seem somewhat dated, it's still enjoyable. It will appeal not only to fans of the series but also to those who enjoy this genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a bad game. I hate to say this, but this is a bad game and an even worse adventure game. I still like Nina and Max is alright, but it was a struggle to power on through this game. Most of the situations are totally abstract which the developers use to excuse their needlessly odd solutions to puzzles. The "minigames" all have the option of easy or difficult. Easy is tedious and boring and difficult is the same, but you have to do it longer. Oh and this game is weird. I sigh, but I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Technically superior from the previous iterations, with a more than decent voice cast this time around, solid riddles and puzzles and a somewhat ridiculous (unfortunately not in a good way) storyline. Recommended with caution.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Secret Files 3 is really under the two others. Graphics are not as good and the game is really shorter. But i liked playing it. For the fans of this serie...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is easily the weakest of the SF + Lost Hirozon games. Ironically, playing this games demo was what made me buy them in the first place, as I really enjoyed the point and click puzzle solving. There are many complaints I have about this game as I felt very dissapointed compared to the first two. They really took away the good things about the earlier games and tried to drag out this short and unoriginal story the easiest way possible. The mini-games in this game are tedious and boring.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have mixed feelings about Secret Files 3. While the voice acting got better, and the environments look beautiful as always, the other aspects of the game have drastically decreased in quality. The story is boring and feels rushed, the puzzles have been lowered in numbers and quality which is a shame because those were my favourite parts about the previous titles along with its goofy, self-aware humour. The playtime is also shorter, and there aren't much memorable moments. We also don't get to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, Secret Files 3 falls short of its predecessors in many ways. The game's storyline lacks the intrigue and excitement of the previous games, and the characters and dialogue feel uninspired and unmemorable. The puzzles are also lacking in creativity and are often frustratingly difficult without providing a satisfying payoff. The game's visuals and sound design are also disappointing. The environments lack detail and are often bland and uninteresting, while the sound effects and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Secret Files is a strange series. Secret Files 1: Tunguska had a very good story, but awful voice acting and nonexistent logic. Secret Files 2 had a slightly worse story, but slightly better logic and voice acting (though still not good). Now Secret Files 3 has pretty good logic almost all throughout the game and actually enjoyable puzzles, but the story is incredibly short, awfully told and the ending is so quick, you might miss it if you blink. The voice acting has been further improved and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game to complete the series. Sadly it is rather disappointing compared to the first two games. If you feel the need to finish a game series I'd still recommend it, otherwise try to stay away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is quite short and the story isn't as well as the past compared to the two others titles. But the game is still good and fun. Also, we finally have some answers about past characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the only secret here is why this game got a good score i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hated it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After replaying yet again I changed my review from positive to negative. Secret Files 3, the third and final game of the Secret Files series (minus the short Sam Peters game they did) Honestly, this game is not good. The first 2 games in the series are much much better, I would put this as mixed if I could. I love SF: Tunguska, and I like SF2, but this game falls short in a lot of ways. And if you like playing Max like I do, you'll only be able to play him for 5 to maybe 10 minutes. I can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros + high quality and polished pre rendered graphics. the backgrounds being particularly beautiful and well-designed + a intriguing sci fi story mixed with history + there are many different locations + enjoyable puzzles. they are not too easy or overly complicated. there are also inventory puzzles you can combine some items + enjoyable mini games with two difficulty option + Nina is an likeable protagonist + decent voice acting + good looking character models + fun to watch and well made…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →short with a bunch of cut scenes and talk scenes but still recommending.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Introduction "Secret Files 3" is a 2012 released, german point-'n-click-adventure developed by Animation Arts and serves as a direct sequel to "Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis" and "Secret Files: Tunguska". As of 2026, it marks the final entry in the main saga centred on Nina Kalenkow and Max Gruber. One last time, Nina sets out to uncover a world-spanning conspiracy and save not only her fiancee, but the entire globe... Story The game starts off in the year 48 BC, in the besieged city of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a Point & Click adventure game, it's ok, way to short and the story feels rushed compared to the previous titles in the series, and it doesn't help that while beign short it feels they padded parts of it with a dream segment that you need to redo the actions 5 times as a puzzle. As a Secret Files game it's the worst in the series by a good margin, while voice acting in the english version got better, the story got worse, much worse, and that made the game feel rushed. The ending also is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Marriage is bad. Christianity is bad. Apocalypse (reign of God) is bad, and all of that can and must be avoided - that's what you are taught in the first ten minutes of this "game" (?). Your character is ruthless and totally stupid, and your "mission" is - well, I do not spoil, but maybe you can guess it. And if you like the premises of the story and you like playing unlikeable characters? Well, be prepared for boring casual stuff and some unsolvable puzzles - unsolvable not because they are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl;dr: decent point-and-click, bat**** plot, 6 hours to beat, more emphasis on unique situations or set-pieces, four endings but with little difference between them. A decent point-and-click, somewhat shorter than the previous two games (6 hours compared to 10-11 for SF 1&2). The plot is even more of a stretch than in the previous games, now firmly in the bat**** territory. This sequel is also more varied with its gameplay. Departures from the standard adventure fare (walking around collecting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was far too short, the characters that were unique to the game were poorly developed and the writing was mediocre at best. I am a huge fan of The Secret Files and I love adventure games in general (been playing them for 20 years) but I was very disappointed with this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disappointing story. Very short (took me less than 4 hours, not counting replaying a major part of the game after a crash), annoying and repetitive mini games. Some fun moments, but doesn't get anywhere close to Secret Files 1 and 2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not a bad game and its a good continuation of the first game secret files: Tunguska but I think it could have been longer considering my first play though of it was under 3 hours and the first game (which I had on disk before I got a steam account) took me a good couple of weeks of play. Despite its short run it is a good game to play and the voice acting in this one compared to the other two is I think spot on.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short in comparison to the first 2 games but the storyline is just as good and some of the puzzles are simple yet head scratchingly difficult. Wasn't keen on the "dream" stages though, keep it realisic devs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →storyline was really awful. lots of busywork ( repeating actions over and over and over again - literally turning back time and adding another step, x5, alternating between lights or power and having to keep going back to flip the breaker for each UGGGHH, etc), and still a short game at under 5 hours. yikes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recently finished Secret Files 3 on Switch. It was fine, for a point and click type game. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it either. #19 of 2025 #SecretFiles3 #NintendoSwitch #Nintendo
unlabelledView post →Only recommended for devoted fans of the series or point and click adventures in general. This game is short and way too easy. The puzzles are absolutely uninspired, the story is far fetched and many developments are abrupt and insufficiently motivated. It tries to be thrilling and funny but fails on both accounts. Also some puzzles offer a "challenging" variant which is never challenging at all, just tedious. Apart from those and some unnecessary repetitions the gameflow itself is almost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately disappointing and lackluster
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The main character is less of a pick me girl in this then the ones before it. Sadly it makes it worse as I enjoyed that she was so annoying it became fun now she is more bland. Otherwise it's meh. For a pound I would buy them but not for much more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Казалось бы, третья часть у меня точно запустится ввиду своей новизны. Но нет. Фанаты считают SF3 худшей из всех игр в серии.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I purchased this game years ago and never played it, as I wanted to play the Secret Files games in order and lost interest after getting into SF2. Yet for some reason, Steam has recorded a whopping 150 hours of playtime on my account. This would make sense if I had opened the game and let it idle, but I never downloaded, let alone opened, the game to play it in the first place. I can't return the game after so many years and "hours played" and I can't get rid of it from my list, so I'm stuck…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horibble action adventure ♥♥♥♥, avoid like hell!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What the hell is this stupid sh!t ?? The designer of the game must be a mentally retαrded person with abnormal logic, while the protagonist's voice player is a dull and stubborn person. The game has produced three, but it hasn't been improvement at all, and it's still as bad as the first generation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10. Relatively simplistic but still improbable puzzles, a story that leans into scientific elements but rapidly becomes outlandish, and characters who seem less and less relatable. To damn with faint praise, more enjoyable than not. Secret files 3 closes out a trilogy of games featuring Nina Kalenkov and Max Gruber. As such, you're probably best served playing the other games first. Technically, it's not anything special. You've got a config window like the previous games where you can set…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable game for fans of the series but considerably shorter and easier than the previous two efforts. Also that ending was...it felt like they forgot to make an ending and tagged it on 5 minutes before the final deadline. I recommend the game but only if you can get it on sale for a couple of dollars.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1. What is Secret Files 3? Secret Files 3 is the third part of the secret files trilogy. It´s an adventure game developed by Animation Arts from Germany. There´s another game after the trilogy called "secret files: Sam Peters", which I didn´t play yet. 2. Technical Details It runs fine on my windows 10 64 bit machine and it needs 3 gb space of your hard drive. Sometimes the game threw me out on the desktop, because I clicked at the corners of the screen (multi-monitor-setup). After that I had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh, nothing special. Worse then the 1st and 2nd part. (played in offline mode)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This got a lot of bad reviews because of the length, (It only took me 5 hours with only the occasional walkthrough lookup), but aside from that, I thought it was quite good! Pros: +I really liked the story, I thought it was much more engaging than the previous titles. I was actually invested and curious about what was going to happen, and the stakes for most of the game were very engaging. +I really liked all the meta humour about her being an adventure game character. +Nina's voice actress…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, but shorter then the previous games, and certain story parts seemed very rushed, and not very well explained.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent follow up to Secret Files: Puritas Cordis. Story is not as long as previous games. Game is around 10 hours long. Visually similar to 2nd game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story of this game is really bad - even for Animation Arts. I have played the two first games of the series and remember them as decent enough to buy this one, but I will not come back for more. Voice acting is mediocre at best, so the only ok part of this game is the graphics which is nice I guess. Spend your money on a better game. If you want to try an Animation Arts game try Lost Horizon. It's not perfect either but I didn't start thinking I was wasting my time halfway through like with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A typical Secret Files game, with Max and Nina. Felt like it was a bit short, finished it within 4 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good story however the game felt short compared to the first and second and I am deeply disappointed by the way it ended!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I installed Secret Files 3. I haven't even started the game, and it's already so dumb I'm going to die. It's perfect.
unlabelledView post →The finale of already mediocre adventure series, with the quality going downward. Nonsensical plot based on sensationalist misinterpretation of history and math, unlikable, selfish main protagonist, stale humor, and endless uninspired inventory puzzles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Secret Files 3, developed by Animation Arts and published by Ravenscourt, serves as the concluding entry in a trilogy known for blending conspiracy-driven storytelling with traditional adventure gameplay. It sets out to deliver a grand finale, expanding its scope through multiple timelines, global locations, and a more cinematic narrative approach. While the ambition is clear from the outset, the execution presents a mix of engaging ideas and uneven pacing that shapes the overall experience.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The plot is confusing, plays a lot with really horrible conspiracy theories and thinking of playing this one again triggers my gag reflex. Secret Files is one of the greatest point and click series but this one just lacks behind. The writing and story telling are just garbage. Play the other two - even the shorter installation called "Sam Peters" is better. Feels like the developers had not a single coherent thought while developing this. It's sad that it had to end this way. I'm basically just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good click and point game, but quite short (under 4 hours without walkthrough). Plot is kind of weak compared to earlier entries.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is very bad game. Very short. Not logical game. Four different endings. Too easy. Secret Files 1 Tunguska is better than Secret Files 3.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I loved Secret Files 1 and 2, the series took a nosedive with part 3 and I will never understand why. It was made by the same people and had two really good predecessors so the foundation was there. But the second sequel just can't reach the high bar the other two games had set. While the graphics have improved again, the locations we visit this time aren't as pretty as the last times anymore. No European places or pretty nature spots, we mostly spend time in jail cells, labs or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bad game dont buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better voice acting, decent plot and the same self aware humor you hopefully loved in the previous games. It's considerably shorter, but enjoyable throughout. While the music is good for the time, I'd turn it down because the voice balance is very low sometimes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was okay and quite entertaining. But the different endings were all a bit unsatisfying. I actually got a bit more out of the game as it crashed on me twice and I got to replay a lot of the progress
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda short compared to the previous titles...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy those classic adventure games. They have something relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is generally ok. Quite short, but it's nice to see the characters growing to be less annoying than in previous Secret Files. The story is a bit bonkers, but the puzzles make sense.
