SAS: Red Notice
An off-duty SAS soldier, Tom Buckingham, must thwart a terror attack on a train running through the Channel Tunnel. As the action escalates on the train, events transpire in the corridors of power that may make the difference as to whether Buckingham and the civilian passengers make it out of the tunnel alive. unlabelledView post →I decided to write a movie for Jason Statham in which ICE invades the small midwestern town of Tinyville and EX-DELTA FORCE SAS NAVY SEAL SHERIFF MASON MCKILLCHAIN must choose between the law and revenge, but not for long.
unlabelledView post →um, hate to be "that guy" but he wasn't the inspiration for Bond. he worked for the guy who was the inspiration for him though. Lee was one of the group who would later become the British SAS. here is a movie about the guy who inspired Bond. www.imdb.com/title/tt5177...
unlabelledView post →I have been very critical of SAS’ lackluster movie offerings in the past, deservingly so. It has improved a bit and now one of the main IFE menu options is simply “Clint Eastwood.” It has 20 movies in that category.
unlabelledView post →ESPN is really going to great lengths here to avoid giving a clear shot of the two dudes in the Dumb and Dumber outfits with what appear to be pictures of Perk and SAS on their chests. I'm about to go full Zapruder Film here.
unlabelledView post →Great cyberpunk/neo-noir film. Was available as an inflight movie on SAS a few years ago and I was very pleased.
unlabelledView post →Oh, a new ep of Day of the Jackal has dropped, every time I mention this there's usually some cranky old bastard who says the book was better and the movie was excellent as if they were a sniper in the SAS in 1987, so Eddie Redmayne is bloody marvellous and his cheek bones are to die for.

unlabelledView post →The cast were given weapons training by ex- SAS members Andy McNab and Mick Gould. Kilmer trained for months, practicing to load and reload quickly. The moment he does this in the film has been shown to marine recruits as an example of how to reload quickly under fire. 40/46
unlabelledView post →Movie about the Special Relationship (narrowly about a shared military campaign) where the SAS guy is a Texan doing his best Yorkshire and the Navy SEAL is a Yorkshireman doing his best Texas
unlabelledView post →Movie night (binge-watching SAS Rogue Heroes) with Lamb Curry with Roasted Shallots. Full recipe over on my Instagram page.
unlabelledView post →Watched The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare on Amazon Prime. Henry Cavill demonstrating he could be Bond. (Star Trek pals, Doctor M’Benga stars too.) It’s SAS: Rogue Heroes meets Inglorious Basterds, but not quite as strong as either. Still, great for some B-movie gung-ho action.
unlabelledView post →movies were better before everyone in every action film had to be ripped like a bodybuilder and undergo SAS training in the interest of 'verisimilitude'
unlabelledView post →As one who realised late in life that a catnip film genre for me is dramatised real wartime adventures (see Operation Mincemeat and SAS Rogue Heroes), I heartily recommend The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Currently on iplayer.
unlabelledView post →Thanks for the warnings! I will be skipping #GH tomorrow. 🚫🧱 🚫SAS for me. What movie should I watch during that time instead?
unlabelledView post →Watched The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare on BBC iplayer. I very much enjoyed it - if you liked SAS Rogue Heroes, you'll love this too. To give him his credit, I didn't realise it was a Guy Ritchie film until the end. It's only on iplayer for another week, so make the most of it. Recommended.
unlabelledView post →Searching for images of Judy Davis in an evening frock with a Beretta M12 in WHO DARES WINS (1982)* I stumbled across this deranged dance number, which I don't remember AT ALL. (*reprehensible pro-SAS film that conflates CND with terrorism, though it might have acquired kitsch cachet over the years)
unlabelledView post →Need a lot more on Shawn posting Caitlin Clark/Ed Sas numbers as a movie watcher
unlabelledView post →Tonight's film. Russel Enoch is in the SAS.
unlabelledView post →BBC’s SAS: Rogue Heroes is topping streaming charts in 12 countries. Created by Steven Knight — known for Peaky Blinders and confirmed as the writer of the next James Bond film — the series tells the story of the SAS’s WWII origins. With Paddy Mayne, portrayed by Jack O’Connell. Highly recommended.
unlabelledView post →The cast were trained by SAS professionals and learned drills, how to handle weapons, and work as a platoon. Al Matthews (who plays Apone) was a former Vietnam vet and helped as consultant on the film too. 34/51
unlabelledView post →Mandingo- see bbc- also a especially egregious one based on the roots of the term. The movie mandingo- is a story set during chattel slavery where a yt woman SAs a blk man using her status and blackmail, and ends up pregnant. The rest of the story gets worse for the title character.
unlabelledView post →Sir Ranulph Fiennes was kicked out of the SAS after trying to blow up a dam to flood the set of Doctor Doolittle (1968) as he believed the film was ruining the village it was being shot in. The film lost so much money for 20th Century Fox that they might have been better off if he’d succeeded.
unlabelledView post →What colour are the doors to the SAS boathouse? ... I love that movie.
unlabelledView post →This afternoon's movie is SAS: Red Notice. Sam Heughan is basically playing Captain Britain and honestly, he'd be good for the role as long as he can nail the correct level of tory shithousery required.
unlabelledView post →also if we really wanna get film nerd about it, he only changed because a) he woulda otherwise been beaten to death after repeated SAs in prison b) a Black man took pity on him and schooled his ass c) he didnt wanna stay there and had to be a presentable human -- the "change of heart" was downstream
unlabelledView post →Been watching SAS: Rogue Heroes because World War II small-unit commando action is a top 5 premise for TV and film. Man, it is a huge bummer when a TV show thinks its protagonist is way cooler than he actually is.
unlabelledView post →you'd be amazed by the number of big productions where someone forgets this basic thing I was on a set of an all-British (!) film that didn't have hot water, the SAs walked out.
unlabelledView post →OTD 55 years ago, PLAY DIRTY (1969) hit UK cinemas. A #WW2 mission movie it centres on the exploits of an undefined unit that is inspired by the #LRDG or perhaps #SAS. It was hardly an original film, though. A thread on special units doing daring do in the desert... 🧵 1/9

unlabelledView post →That Ranulph Fiennes was fired from the SAS for attempting to sabotage a feature film is a piece of trivia I feel I should salt away for when it might be useful.

unlabelledView post →We finished watching season 2 of Rogue Heroes last night. Crikey, what a show. Yes, it's gone for a tonne of fiction (great variance from docos and a movie I've seen about the SAS) but it's highly entertaining. If anything, season 2 was even stronger on the horrors of war than season 1 was […]
unlabelledView post →Came here to say this. Loved this movie because the entire point was to just have gratuitous Nazi killing. Fuck the SAS tho.
unlabelledView post →Sounds like an episode of Only Fools And Horses meets a Guy Richie/Jason Stratham SAS film.
unlabelledView post →I want see a movie where we get some guy giving a whole spiel about "this man has trained with the CIA, NSA, Air Force, Marines, Green Berets, even the SAS. You are not ready for him." And then the rest of the movie follows a 40+ IT guy who was doing cybersecurity presentations to special forces.
unlabelledView post →We filmed the ending if [REDACTED] with 500 SAs (Supporting Artists), in the film we look like thousands. After extensive post-production of course.
unlabelledView post →Con O’Neill (5’ 8”) played a good Monty in SAS: Rogue Heroes. Guess he wasn‘t available for the movie.
unlabelledView post →watching Rogue Heroes, bit of derring-do and all that, how the SAS began in the second war; it made me think of The Dam Busters with Michael Redgrave, which was/is such a brilliant movie, maybe the best war film after All Quiet on the Western Front, which isn't a war film so yeah...
unlabelledView post →Great film (especially for those f us with a competency kink). Great scene: the eyeroll is perfect. And the opportunity to compare/contrast this film's Montgomery with Con's Monty in season 2 of SAS Rogue Heroes. (See particularly scene of Monty adjusting Paddy's beret rather..... seductively?)
unlabelledView post →Oh good lord… when they made this film, do you think they were aware that by calling it 'He Who Dares', they were referenced Del Boy Trotter getting the SAS motto wrong? www.imdb.com/title/tt2740...
unlabelledView post →I think: Behind this FREE book link is the basis of a good SAG-AFTRA movie budgeted at 80 days, that requires just an armourer, a few Stunt performers with a handful of SPACT & SAs In my head it really hangs on location Scouts & the Assistant Directors Have a look 🇺🇸 www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKNLBYV6
unlabelledView post →Hi Sas! Glad you enjoyed the film! 🎥 💫
unlabelledView post →Yep. An uncle was SAS. He hated Yanks with a passion, the same passion I hate those dumb arse Yanks with. They think a Top Gun movie and big battleships is how ya win wars. It ain't. But that's just ya typical dumb arse Yank. All show, no fucking go.
unlabelledView post →Been watching SAS: Rogue Heroes, there's some really effective uses of modern rock and heavy metal in that show. (Airbourne, Motörhead). Same goes for the movie "a Knight's Tale" (the David Bowie dance number, for example.) That sort of thing should happen more often.
unlabelledView post →We really enjoyed this film. And I second SAS Rogue Heroes as well.
unlabelledView post →Since I saw the first episode of SAS Rogue Heroes on Amazon Prime, I find the writing of several scenes would be perfect for a new James Bond's film. Lo and behold: www.bbc.com/news/article...
unlabelledView post →That said, there was that not bad Netflix action movie SAS: RED NOTICE where the hero was a (very) thinly disguised version of Prince Harry (and named something like Tom Buckingham!)
unlabelledView post →(I also have a memory of getting home from a matinee showing of "Empire" to see the SAS had gone into the Iranian Embassy but the dates don't work out, so I must have seen some other film that day.)
unlabelledView post →My favourite film genres: • Britain’s only action hero plays a Brit/yank who’s retired from his role in SAS/Navy Seal but must use his latent skills to slaughter everyone, sometimes shirtless for no good reason
unlabelledView post →If you enjoyed this movie then If you get the chance, watch the BBC series ‘SAS Rogue Hero’s’
unlabelledView post →Given the material and prevalence of secret operation films, it's perhaps surprising that there are few other depictions of the SAS in #WW2. The unnamed unit in PLAY DIRTY (1969) is perhaps the closest film portrayal, but it's not a perfect match. 🧵 3/10 #SAS #RogueHeroes
unlabelledView post →we kept watching DIE HARDs by skipping to #4. This changed its title from LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD to DIE HARD 4.0 in international markets, for I guess the same reason the SAS action movie WHO DARES WINS was retitled THE FINAL OPTION in America. What a mistake? Or is that just the American opinion
unlabelledView post →this sounds like some sort of action movie starring like Idris Elba as a retired SAS commando just trying to get through tax season as a CPA when he has to singlehandedly fight an entire biker gang to idk save xmas for a little girl
unlabelledView post →I wonder if people like The Final Programme yet. I believe Moorcock thought it was garbage. But among all the crazy scenes in that film, the human scale pinball machine stands out the most. Also former SAS parachute commando wearing frilly lace blouse and velvet jacket is full of win.
unlabelledView post →Weird thing about the Canadian border patrol agents I’ve noticed over the many years of crossing from BC to WA- they’re all martial tens. They all look like they were pulled from a movie cast about supermodels who moonlight as SAS.
unlabelledView post →Tiktok is such an unserious place. Idrc abt the movie bc i dont like the author or her writing, but i hope they handle things w care. She herself said zade SAs addie but ppl are calling it cnc bc they dont understand basic kink terminology and the book isnt CNC PER HER OWN Q&A
