The Great Master of the clan of True Honor has appointed Tsuramaru as his Art of War advisor and this move seems to have turned the tide of this war towards his clan. However, the plan to infiltrate a rebel threshold on his own province has failed and this gives a slight hope for the Horizons clan! And that’s not all . . . there are few twists to discover in Samurai Riot! Samurai…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very barebones co-op beat'em'up with oldschool difficulty and flair. Beat up lots of identical looking enemies with way too much hp and little to no variety. Get it on sale and don't expect too much and you may eventually have a good time.

I wouldn't say it's similar, but it definitely reminded me of playing games like Double Dragon or Battletoads back in the day, just with better controls, nice artwork, etc. If you like "Beat 'em ups" this one is worth the $15 IMHO and if it's on sale consider it a steal! Being most games usually give an intro/tutorial on the controls (this one doesn't currently), I feel it's worth mentioning the PAUSE menu is your friend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun beat 'em up game. Game wants you to make a choice at the key points of the story and according to your choices, you'll encouter with 7 different endings. Gameplay is simple, yet really fun. You can choose one of the two characters at the beggining. Also, game has Local Multiplayer. Online Multiplayer would be better, but it's still good. Just like the other Beat 'em up games, you encounter waves of enemies and proceed to next stage. It can sound repetitive, but i didn't got bored…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have tried this a few times now. Loaded up fine, was pretty good played two players with Xbox one controllers. The control scheme is great the theme and art style are complimented by a cool soundtrack. but the game crashes on the regular. Sometimes after a minute, sometimes after a full level. One thing you know for sure though is it will crash and when it does it is a bad freeze your PC crash, refuse to close the programme through task-manager crash. Reboot your PC and punish you for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky controls, cringey weeaboo writing, music puts me to sleep. Why can't I remap the shoulder button actions to triggers? (they are remapped, but still work only on buttons) Instead of a grab or a throw you get a weird immobilizing chain move. The moveset seems limited even for a beat'em'up, unfortunately. It's just a lot of running through repetitive and needlessly empty environments, beating up annoying enemies. Not all are bad, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the kappa. And when you think it's over, they…

The controls are easy to grasp (though I know some people are still gonna say a tutorial would have been nice, and I was a little surprised there wasnt one, I found myself not missing it all that much). The art style is quite good, the sound effects are competent, and you can tell the devs really care about this labor of love. If you like beat em ups, youll love this game. If…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mixed feelings at best, but id recommend. The game has an interesting story with endings that you earn with your actions changing almost everything. Also the story makes sure the choices you make are hard ones. there are no right answers, no clear path, just your honest to god morals where you always lose something. in this case the game is fantastic! Except the enemies, and there lies the biggest problem. The enemies themselves never change regardless of the story. Took down the revolutions…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full review: https://cublikefoot.com/2017/09/20/samurai-riot-game-review/ I love playing co-op games. Some of my fondest gaming memories come from playing such games. I also like samurai, be that in film, games, books, or just in general. So I was very excited to see a game combining those two very things into one package, a beat ’em up game by the name “Samurai Riot”. The game features some nice co-op elements and a branching storyline where player choices actually matter. However it lacks in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being a 80's kid myself i've played a whole stack of beat em ups in my time, growning up playing the likes of Streets of Rage & Golden Axe so its nice to see a new game coming out in 2017 with a updated version of a classic game genre & i think they pull it off well. One thing they did do which i really liked is they put alot of thought into the storyline, instead of making it very linear they actually have it so when you get to certain ponits in the story you have to make moral choices,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →music is really nice, shame that everything else is just so, so bad aerial attacks are useless, grabs are almost non-existant and also useless, special moves are meh at best, AI is cheap and will constantly spam a single move and stunlock you to death, enemy variety is also almost non-existant but yeah, music is cool i guess either get it on sale, or just skip it, you won't miss much here
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No v-sync, no lock fps. My GPU GTX960M runs this game on 500 fps, why I need my GPU working 100%. I had to make a workaround to lock the fps.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Kevin Smith made an indie Samurai Beat em up game and based the main character off of Justin Long lol :P Full Controller support, fun, simple...Give it a go peeps. I enjoyed it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →love this game well worth the money and is best enjoyed with a friend. Huge replayability value. as points are earned and can be saved to buy better class options for your fighter for example the rhino fighting class grants you the ablility to break enemy blocks and phoenix style gives you an extra life. alot of options to fit your play style. and story has many paths you can choose.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Barely found this game last night and all I can say is that this game feels great. Story doesn't feel generic and has enough variety to keep me wanting to replay. Each of the schools provide different ways to play whether it'd be aggressive or defensive. The variety of enemies are mainly just recolors but much like the characters you play as they derive from different schools meaning they will fight in different ways whether it'd be poke game or just full on attack. The controls feel somewhat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, plus you get to make choices about which group you will stay with and who you will kill. Not every beat em up has these kinds of choices to make the game even more interesting! This game is a bunch of fun, you can't go wrong with this one if you like the old school side scrolling games ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if ya wanna play the game on keyboard, you need to know: "wasd" for moving - nope change controls - nope "esdf" for moving - yeah lots of identical looking enemies too much hp little to no variety It's easier to beat bosses than basic units
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun game. The controls are not hard, and easy to get used to. The soundtrack, is amazing as well. It perfectly suits the theme of the game. I would recomend this game to anyone who like beat em up games, and side scrolling games as well.
