positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics and sound are nice, but game play feels really restricted. You can only move and when you can interact with something or need to take an action with the one button. Sometimes there is a pinkish colour to signify you can use something. What's not communicated is, that you need to hold up and the button to get into cover. Lot's of timed chasing scenes require button mashing to progress. Just hold the direction an mash away, it's the only thing to do. Otherwise - with the few options…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who lives in a sh*thole country vulnerable to climate change this game really impacted me. What an impressive idea and what a great implementation! I really enjoyed this game. Perfect music, beautiful art style and amazing gameplay. This game touches at the heart and importance of the need for environmental awareness. The moral of the game is that one person can change the environment for the better, so we have all can contribute something. The game presents the grim reality of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a boring game, all you do is keep moving right and then once in a while pressing a contextual button. What makes it worse is that sometimes you get a little bubble to warn you to press a button but other times you have to figure it out for your self. The animation is lackluster and the environmental message is as subtle as a flying hammer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is hard to recommend this game in the state it is in, but if you're interested and can cope with its flaws, you may get something out of it. - it is a walking simulator. It may look like it plays like INSIDE/Little Nightmares or the likes, but it's quite different. To begin with, there is no jump button. Instead actions are VERY limited to pressing a button when you're close to certain objects. Much worse, there are many quick time events with occasional button mashing sequences mixed in. -…

Let the ocean current take you on a semi-realistic journey with fantasy twists. Samudra is a storytelling sidescroller with puzzle & platforming elements focusing our attention on the effects of the pollution in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game. Positive + This game has beautiful music and the graphics are very well done and provide many beautiful moments. + The story is told without words but with a few minimalistic pictures, which I really like. + There are many challenging puzzles, which were, for the most part, enjoyable. + The atmosphere is very successful Negative - The most challenging part of the game is probably the chase scenes, which are sometimes extremely difficult and therefore really…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amanita meets Irrational meets Playdead in a game with some good ideas and a noble purpose, but which fails to be as beautifully deep as the sea it brings to the screen. It makes me a little sad to leave a negative review for this game, because it tickes many interesting boxes and the premise seemed encouraging. Unfortunately, having reached the credits, I feel I can't do otherwise. In Samudra, the player takes on the role of a boy who has fallen into the depths of an abyss, and now seeks a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well that was one hell of a slog. The movement is very restricted(you can't even jump around to ease your boredom) and slow, yes I know the game takes place underwater but you can't deny the annoyance it gives. A ton of pointless stages requiring minimal interactions, and God, it goes on and on and on at a snail's pace. It feels like at least 3 times of its actual length. A third of the game doesn't even have a background track to accompany your dull journey. I experienced fair number of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Art's great. Other reviewers have pointed out the flaws and there's not much to add. Idk if the animation scene is harder to break into than the indie game scene, but many of these types of "games" would do better as short movies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game have deep story and lore about post-apocalyptic that the kid (Main Character) live in the underwater and explore what is really happened to the ocean across the world. Plus, visual style is great and game mechanic is easy to play (You know just focus on press spacebar, arrow keys, and combination with the these two type button on keyboard). The game is created by local game studio from Indonesia. So, I am respect and salute to people that work hard in the game studio with vision to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the games, music relaxing & nice animation. The goal is to journey to the surface, while on the road save marine creatures. Spend a lot of time to solved the puzzle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the worst games I have ever played. It does not respect the player's time. The movement is too slow, and the checkpoint system makes you rewatch each and every theatrical scene whenever you die. The challenges are on the two extremes. They are either no brainer, no skill "push the button" walks, or you have to find the one and only solution and execute it perfectly or you will miss the solution so you have to do everything all over again. For the achievement hunters: The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ artwork, kinda reminds me of the trash mermaid comics - gameplay its a walking sim.....a weak one at that 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the idea and presentation of a global problem - ocean pollution. Beautiful soundtracks, the game itself too. However, the actions and tasks become the same (especially with puffer fish), it gets a little annoying and makes the game somewhat boring. A bit disappointing that both endings are the same - whether you save the fish or the world. I wanted to see some kind of improvement - the factories stopped working, the world was a little cleaner. I’d recommend you to play once. Especially…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super clunky and slow. I can appreciate the art design and see the passion from the developer. I did not enjoy this, though. At one point I think I fell asleep with the controller in my hand.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kinda wonky, not in the entertaining way i died a lot due to control mechanics, so the suspenseful moments and chase scenes were pretty meh you need to be 100% on time and it doesn't always feel possible on the positive side, the music and ambience were cool and some art choices are also pretty good
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wanted to Like this Game so badly. Nice atmosphere, nice music, nice visuals - but the Gameplay... Nope. I'm usually very much into underwater games, but playing samudra Feels Like something's trying to drain your Energy. After completing chapter 2 Its simply Not fun anymore.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love the art of this game. The color, the soundtrack, animation, all of the background and character design (especially the puffer fish, my fave) just beautiful~. Although, i want to give some critics about the game controls, it's nice just having to focus on the movement and all interaction just have to press space bar, but it kinda frustrate me because the character was so slow in everything and sometimes the controls not activated in a crucial timing so i gotta smashed my space bar…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The immersive atmosphere in this deep sea exploration is absolutely stunning! Amazing details if you pay more attention to the environment! (especially Indonesian legends)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice puzzles, interesting style and story (told without words); I did two playthroughs to get both endings and collect all the trash. Some bits were a little frustrating, and the controls didn't always feel responsive. Also, I think some of the puffer-fish achievements may be broken, as I saved them all, but didn't get all the achievements. Oh well. Nice music too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with simple mechanics. Underwater post apocalypse (?) vibes are well done. Only major downside is areas hard lock on progress. So if you're not sure you wanna go left or right you can't just take a look and go back the other way because of invisible walls that hard lock you in the 'new' area. Really annoying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Beautiful Game that left me wanting more. "Samudra," an underwater side-scrolling puzzle-platformer, combines the mythical fantasy of the oceans with the grim reality of pollution. While the game wears its message about environmental impact clearly, it falls short in terms of gameplay enjoyment. The game follows a young boy in a diving helmet exploring the gloomy depths of the ocean filled with human-generated debris. As you navigate through 2D levels, you perform basic platforming tasks,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just don't... the slowest, most tedious "game" I've tried in a while.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks good, but do not be deceived, as it is mearly a wolf in sheeps clothing. This game is awful. First of all, it is very boring, whole game is basically holding D and occasionally pressing space or spamming the sh*t out of it. The game tells you when to press space most of the time, but sometimes it just decides not to which is quite often confusing. It tries to be so much, but doesn't do anything well. It tries to scare you, but the jumpscares are pitiful. It tries quick time…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When narcissists make a game and don't respect the player's time. You have to watch the credits for 5 min before the game starts, and after that you have to walk for another minute on an empty road before anything happens... then it became a walking simulator where you need to push the action button when you see something white... Just no.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An awesome game that needs more influence. This is one of the best underwater platformer games out there. You may have played a lot other type of platformer but this game is not only gives you an awesome gameplay experience it also makes you aware of environmental pollution, mainly which is causing troubles for underwater life. This game gives you a different experience which you can not gain from most of the games that are getting released these years. This is targeted mostly at underwater…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The movement of the character was too slow, I started to lose my patience especially on the 5th chapter like I almost threw my console???? Help???? I badly want to recommend the game to everyone but this is just meh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hate to say this, as I think the game has a lot of potential, but I just found it uninteresting. I appreciate the pollution message it's trying to say and love the art style. However, everything else fell flat for me. The worst part is probably the movement; the character feels janky to control. Furthermore, the fact that the game only uses one button to interact with everything makes the gameplay feel bland. Most of the chase sequences play out like this: you run to either side while…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, it has a nice, creepy atmosphere and sends the do not pollute the ocean message, but the gameplay and controls just ruin it. Let me start with the controls keeping in mind the only buttons you need in this game is Left/Right (sometimes up and down) and A or Space, first of all, I begun playing it with a controller, since it is a puzzle-platformer, and ohh boy that was a regret. For some reason it is utterly broken (and I played Hollow Knight with this X-box…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one word: confusing. there are no clues of what to do or where to go. if you want to make it challenging, you shouldn't be agonizing. but over all, i like the message of this game. tho i hope, the story could be more relevant to today's situation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked "Inside" you'll enjoy this. Beautiful art and music, soft game play that's more about timing and dodging things and puzzles just tough enough that you feel good solving them without the frustration, I beat it without any walkthrough in about 4 hours with about 22/35 collectibles -so it felt short, sweet and moving.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Samudra, which means ocean in English, is a very graphically beautiful game. It’s like a walking simulator with puzzles to solve, some mandatory and a few optional ones. The art is very well done, although sometimes the animations are a bit stiff. I did encounter a few issues while playing, mostly having to do with the game not registering some waste pickups. The music adds so much to the atmosphere of Samudra, it really compliments it. There’s two different endings, but the animation for after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was initially drawn to purchase this game due to the art style. I enjoy adventure games and I thought this would play similar to point and click style adventures. However the puzzles felt more like a mix of quick time actions in chases combined with button mashing, which is difficult when the action button has a delayed response. If the creator mixed up the button layout (Space for jump, E for interact) it may make some of these encounters more bearable. There is no margin for error in any of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got soft-locked multiple times on the "blowfish" puzzle that has lava/ garbageshoots. Using the "respawn at checkpoint" option would spawn me at an area of the puzzle I could not leave (had to do puzzle again and was soft locked a 2nd time). Had to exit the game to get out of puzzle. Tried to refund and was denied due to having this in my inventory too long. More CONS: - unresponsive inputs - enemies can "detect" you when not looking in your direction - ladder and other interaction mechanics…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game doesn't feel polished. The art is nice, but the movement is not fluid. There is some music, but not all the time. The actions you need to take to solve a puzzle are Often unclear, and it gets very frustrating to play because of this. I've had to look up tutorials/walkthroughs on multiple occasions, only for ti to become clear that I either missed something that wasn't highlighted in game design, or that the mechanism was just really janky, or that your timing has to be so precise its…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything about this game is horrible.... No story, controls suck, couldn't take more than a 1/2 hour... deleted!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's an ok game, not recommended. it was supposed to be a very short game but it's so boring, plus missing important things that any game must have. There's no setting in this game! * there's no sound setting which will lock you in one master volume for everything. the music is too high and u can't hear the FX. funny enough the game is asking u to use a headphone. * there's no control setting: yeah, it's one button smashing game. also laggy. maybe it's ok with a controller but if u are…
