Runaway Jury
After a workplace shooting in New Orleans, a trial against the gun manufacturer pits lawyer Wendell Rohr against shady jury consultant Rankin Fitch, who uses illegal means to stack the jury with people sympathetic to the defense. But when juror Nicholas Easter and his girlfriend Marlee reveal their ability to sway the jury into delivering any verdict they want, a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game begins. From TMDB

60 of 163 · most liked firstUnderrated Gene Hackman Movie Nobody Seems to Be Talking About Today: RUNAWAY JURY, his third John Grisham adaptation, is still one of the best Grisham films. Smartly plotted, topical, fantastic cast. Hackman plays a jury fixer who meets his match: a juror selling the verdict to the highest bidder.

Twelve white-male jurors try to reach a verdict in a murder trial -- a case involving a Puerto Rican teenager from the slums who is accused of knifing his father to death. Eleven jurors agree that the defendant is guilty...but one man, believing the boy is innocent, sets out to convince the other jurors he’s right by building a case for acquittal." *** I've been aware of this great Hollywood classic pretty…

unlabelledView post →so that movie Relay, the one with Riz Ahmed, it's pretty entertaining, but it's a classic example of a movie not being produced and directed correctly for its type and budget it's a Runaway Jury schlockfest gussied up like it's Michael Clayton and done on a budget too low for either one
unlabelledView post →Watched the movie Runaway Jury (2003) in honor of Mr. Hackman, and it kinda rules -court-case thriller based on a Grisham novel -about the firearm industry’s culpability in American gun violence -John Cusack & Rachel Weisz have insanely hot chemistry -Dustin Hoffman is a well-meaning lawyer -💯
unlabelledView post →Having a Gene Hackman marathon today and started with “Runaway Jury.” He’s so elegantly sleazy in this and I love it. Can’t find a GIF from that movie. Boo.
unlabelledView post →Step into an alternate world where Hollywood’s new sensation is a cinematic universe of legal dramas, including a movie where Michael Clayton has to wrangle a Runaway Jury
unlabelledView post →There are worse actors to do a movie marathon of than Gene Hackman. In the last week I've watched: Get Shorty The Birdcage The Firm Hoosiers* The Runaway Jury Mississippi Burning* Postcards from the Edge No Way Out The Package* and now Crimson Tide (* indicates first viewing)

Big part of my job was arranging travel, and the star of the movie was one of the worst dicks I dealt with in all my time in LA, so I don’t remember much about Gene Hackman.
unlabelledView post →Though I most recently became somewhat obsessed with his 1974 film The Conversation—and I will forever love him in Runaway Jury (2003), Mississippi Burning (1988), Night Moves (1975), and Bonnie and Clyde (1967)—my favorite movie of Gene Hackman’s continues to be The French Connection (1971).

unlabelledView post →Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's YOUR #LastFourWatched? The Taking of Pelham 123 Get Shorty Thunderbolts Runaway Jury Pelham is a reliable rewatch. Get Shorty my favorite movie about movies. Thunderbolts is becoming my favorite Marvel movie. Runaway Jury was worth a second look.
unlabelledView post →Watching Runaway Jury (2003) on the Criterion Channel. It’s true how we used to take these big budget Hollywood courtroom dramas for granted and we see them now and think, this is a movie! I mean the cast here, Hackman, John Cusack, Rachel Weisz, Dustin Hoffman, plus loads of great character actors
unlabelledView post →i have been on a little streak of lawyer movies which means i am watching John Grisham movies - so far i've seen The Firm, The Client, and Runaway Jury unrelated i also watched Disclosure (kind of a lawyer movie?) which i thought was incredibly weird and bizarre for a mainstream Hollywood type film

unlabelledView post →I avoided the #Oscars tonight. My friends and I watched a Gene Hackman film instead. We had options: The Firm Unforgiven Runaway Jury Mississippi Burning Superman French Connection The Replacements Bat 21 Unforgiven We went with "The Quick and the Dead" because it's just awesome. 🥰 RIP, Gene. 🕯️
unlabelledView post →... 2003's Runaway Jury. It is probably on a streaming service or two
unlabelledView post →Runaway Jury (2003). Sunday matinee rewatch. I liked this even more second time round. It has heart. Hackman, Hoffman, Weisz and Cusack, and it was written by Grisham; who could argue with that? #FilmSky
unlabelledView post →From good guy to villain, if Gene Hackman was cast in a movie, it was always worth watching. RIP My Hackman top 8: The Quick and the Dead Unforgiven Mississippi Burning Narrow Margin Heist Runaway Jury Crimson Tide The Birdcage

unlabelledView post →Happened already. John Grisham wrote a book about it, then a movie was made (Runaway Jury).
unlabelledView post →Gene Hackman, amazing actor, Dustin Hoffman, amazing actor, John Cusak pretty good. How can you get that cast and make a film as bad as Runaway Jury?
unlabelledView post →If you don’t want to use Amazon Prime 😬 see Netflix: I just watched Runaway Jury. Totally forgot what the movie was about and then remembered 5 minutes in. Such a good movie.
unlabelledView post →Pleased to announce I am directing the remake of beloved Gene Hackman\John Cusack political thriller 'Runaway Jury' This new version will be called 'Runaway Juri' and the Rachel Weisz character will be replaced with Street Fighter's Juri Han, whom the film is now about Please look forward to it.
unlabelledView post →#LastFourFriday #Filmsky #Letterboxd Been on a Gene Hackman kick. Watched a couple I never seen, The Conversation & The French Connection. Also Runaway Jury and Heads Of State which is a new movie.
unlabelledView post →I highly recommend the book (not the movie) "Runaway Jury - John Grisham" It walks you through how big tobacco creates lifelong smokers starting at around age 13. These same tactics are used to create paranoid gun owners. It's an addiction, just like drugs or smoking.
unlabelledView post →I’ve been looking for a Gene Hackman film and Netflix has Runaway Jury on my “recommended” list. Not sure how I missed it when it came out. Hoffman, Cusack, Weiss all excellent but Hackman is a class apart. The plot is what you’d expect from Grisham but it’s top entertainment.
unlabelledView post →Runaway Jury - all of you were great in that film! GH, truly awesome actor.
unlabelledView post →Just a few.. and they are all over the map 🗺️: Runaway Jury The Guilty (Danish movie) Primal Fear Caché Dead Calm
unlabelledView post →Favourite role; Dimitri, Anastasia. Favourite film; Runaway Jury. Courtroom drama with a side of thriller. Hackman as an absolute bastard. Hoffman doing his finest shade of affable but passionate. Everything after that is just icing on the cake.
unlabelledView post →My favorite movie you’ve starred in: Runaway Jury! Have a great night!
unlabelledView post →Watched RUNAWAY JURY. Gene Hackman was quite the actor. And what happened to John Cusack? Feels he was random Leading Man for about 8 years in the early 00s - looking and acting like the same character in every movie - then bounced straight to petrol-station DVD rack stuff for 20 years instead.
unlabelledView post →Watching Enemy of the State, probably my fave Gene Hackman film (although I find Will Smith hit and miss). Other faves include No Way Out, The Royal Tenenbaums, Runaway Jury, The Conversation, Mississippi Burning and The Firm.
unlabelledView post →So what Gene Hackman film are we watching tonight? I’ve gone for Runaway Jury.
unlabelledView post →Runaway Jury (2003) this was one of his final films as I recall but I've always had a lot of affection for this thriller about a team hired by the gun lobby to steal a jury in a high profile lawsuit, it's a sister movie to Phone Booth with Hackman in the Kiefer Sutherland role
unlabelledView post →R.I.P. Gene Hackman! From the 1st movie I noted his talent-"Mississippi Burning"-he near-dominated the silver screen in the late 80s-90s. Some of my fav action tense drama films: Unforgiven, the Firm, Crimson Tide, Get Shorty, Enemy of the State, Runaway Jury, The Chamber, Behind Enemy Lines, Heist
unlabelledView post →Runaway Jury is a bad movie I have watched numerous times just for Gene Hackman
unlabelledView post →Just rewatched Runaway Jury, a 22 year old movie starring the brilliant, late Gene Hackman as an unrepentant and villainous jury consultant. He's ultimately taken down and threatened with exposure to various federal agencies for his crimes if he doesn't retire. If made today, he'd say, "So what?"

unlabelledView post →It’s not on par with “Runaway Jury” - a novel about the tobacco industry’s influence over lawmakers and mainstream media adapted into a film about gun control - but in terms of an adaptation missing one of the core points of the novel, JP is close.
unlabelledView post →On a completely different not, just watched Runaway Jury last night. Great movie!
unlabelledView post →Watching Gene Hackman and John Cusack in the movie Runaway Jury.
unlabelledView post →Runaway Jury is my favorite Grisham adaptation because it’s so well acted. As a movie fan, I’m grateful y’all got to work together. What an incredible body of work he’s left us ❤️
unlabelledView post →Tonight’s movie. Watched Runaway Jury a few nights ago
unlabelledView post →Murder one, series one is brilliant. Presumed Innocent, the movie and the tv show on Apple. I like most things by Grisham and Runaway Jury is a great film/book. American Crime Story about OJ Simpson. A Few Good Men And weirdly… I would put Amistad on this list as well!
unlabelledView post →Rewatched the early 2000s John Grisham adaptation “Runaway Jury” whivh I first watched during a on TNT airing years ago in the middle of the night and it’s funny how much it perfectly exemplifies “movie you get sucked into watching on cable in the middle of the night”
unlabelledView post →A lot of people think my favorite movie is Event Horizon because of how often I talk about it. But, while it's my favorite horror movie, it gets #2 overall. My favorite movie surprisingly isn't a horror. It's Runaway Jury. If you haven't seen it, you should.
unlabelledView post →My comfort movie is the Runaway Jury. I’m always confused as to why no one clocked John Cusack’s character, particularly since he was living in a very expensive apartment in the French Quarter even for 20 years ago while working a retail job.
unlabelledView post →Your movie selections are excellent! I didn't see Runaway Jury when it came out, and I was really surprised that the depiction of New Orleans didn't suck the way most films set here do. If Hoffman was aiming for a New Orleans accent, though, he gets an F.
unlabelledView post →The 2003 movie "Runaway Jury" has a character Lydia Deetz, who's a young, goth-looking woman. Dear friends, this seems to imply a future trajectory for the Winona Ryder's character of Beetlejuice.
unlabelledView post →I feel like Netflix has figured out that what made movies on cable great was not running great movies or terrible slop it was hammering the B+ movies over and over again cause basically everything they got now is a solid B+ cable movie like Runaway Jury
unlabelledView post →I've been summoned for jury service! It's my first time. So, to get up to speed and looking for tips, I'm binging "Runaway Jury", "12 Angry Men", "A Time To Kill" and of course, the film with that iconic line...... youtu.be/9FnO3igOkOk
unlabelledView post →Watching 'Runaway Jury' with Gene Hackman, John Cusak, Dustin Hoffmann - Definitely read the book years ago, but never watched the film. Seems quaint. $10 Million to swing a Jury in a gun lobby trail. Nowadays I'm guessing the fee would be ten-fold
unlabelledView post →I do love me a good courtroom movie... And a bad one. Just had to watch Runaway Jury with Gene Hackman. He's fantastic (as usual) in this movie.
unlabelledView post →Watched The Runaway Jury last night as a little homage to Gene Hackman. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed that movie. Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, and John Cusack, yes please.
unlabelledView post →My favorite guilty pleasure genre is 90s/early 00s courtroom dramas. A lot of fun and doesn't try to pretend to be something it's not! And a STACKED cast. #Filmsky My ★★★½ review of Runaway Jury on Letterboxd boxd.it/94jDIx
