Before Midnight
It has been nine years since we last met Jesse and Celine, the French-American couple who once met on a train in Vienna. They now live in Paris with twin daughters but have spent a summer in Greece at the invitation of an author colleague of Jesse's. When the vacation is over and Jesse must send his teenage son off to the States, he begins to question his life decisions, and his relationship with Celine is at risk. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →The Wolverine trilogy. Logan is a legitimately great film, not just a good superhero movie. Toy Story 3. Before Midnight.
unlabelledView post →Finally... sadly, the woman who inspired Linklater, Amy Lehrhaupt, passed away in a car crash before Before Sunrise opened. Linklater learned of her death in 2010. As such, the final film in the trilogy, Before Midnight, is dedicated to Amy. 34/34
unlabelledView post →The film was a success on its release, taking $22.5m from its meagre $2.5m budget. It quickly became a cult classic and led to two sequels – Before Sunset and Before Midnight. 32/34

unlabelledView post →a) a direct sequel to both the Errol Flynn Robin Hood and Lion in Winter b) the movie everybody who isn’t me seems to think Before Midnight is c) bizarrely parallel to both Jaws and From Russia with Love?? d) like 3 - 5 incredibly famous actors giving probably their greatest screen performance?

unlabelledView post →All I want for 2028 is a fourth installment of the "Before" series, telling us where Jesse and Celine are 15 years from the last film. Bceause "Before Midnight" was so incredibly acted and well done, but it was also fucking painful, and I need them to be happy. #BeforeSunrise
unlabelledView post →Just realized that Blue Moon is only Richard Linklater's 4th film ever (out of 23) to receive *any* Oscar nominations, after Before Sunset (Screenplay), Before Midnight (Screenplay again), and Boyhood (6 nominations).
unlabelledView post →Supposedly they were offered the chance to write the soundtrack to a movie called Home Before Midnight in 1979. I don’t think it was a success. Jigsaw couldn’t put the pieces back together. #AT40

unlabelledView post →All-time favorite was their review for Before Midnight, with one guy in the section who thought it was the review for Hangover 3 and got confused why all the comments were so sappy. Stuff like “this is the most beautiful film I’ve ever seen and I want what these characters have” I’ll never forget it

unlabelledView post →Tangentially related, I was telling my therapist about how I mildly disassociated watching Before Midnight this weekend and how that movie needs a content warning. Which is on topic for therapy, but we talk about neurodivergent stuff too, so I should bring up Murderbot.
unlabelledView post →Before Sunrise is a great film, but Before Sunset surpasses it in every way. Before Midnight was a hard watch, but very real. Jesse + Celine forever.

unlabelledView post →For the record I could easily get the Before Midnight script. But is it silly the sap in me only needs that film confirming the end of Sunset? Like it's genius and it still has the potential things will work out. But I like thinking everything is okay at the end

unlabelledView post →#TheInvite is a work of cinematic genius. Hilarious, insightful & too real. Best movie about relationships since Before Midnight. All four actors are great but Cruz is on a level that I didn't know was possible. The best motion picture of the year thus far!

unlabelledView post →Home Before Midnight, a Pete Walker attempt at a serious socially aware drama, so basically an unbelievably sleazy film about disgusting family dynamics just without murders; Deadly Strangers, with Hayley Mills as femme fatale!; and the indescribable weirdness of Gonks Go Beat

unlabelledView post →OK, I need to talk to Richard Linklater. Before Sunrise came out in 1995. Before Sunset came out in 2004. Before Midnight came out in 2022. I have come to expect a new Before film every 9 years. He is 3 years late. I understand there was a pandemic, but he needs to get it together.

The silly romantics are all grown up and waste no time examining their relationship along with their own purpose and accomplishments. What a charged way to end the trilogy I loved every second of these movies ★★★★★
unlabelledView post →Omg! Okay it’s a part of a series of movies Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004) and Before Midnight (2013). It follows two people who met by chance on a train in Europe, who had a one night stand (film 1) and who continued to love each other through diff stages of life (2 & 3)
