60 of 93 · most liked firstBeing a Russian myself I’m confused to name a good reason for a non-Russian speaker to buy this game. If he’s not really deep into Russian pop culture of course. Puzzles are… weird. Really weird. It has some kind of logic though. Totally drunk logic. What else? A Soviet/Russian mix of absurd jokes or better yet to say Absolut jokes. Seriously. Characters seem to be drunk or a bit high all the time. Every single one of them. I’m not surprised it was that popular in Russia back then in late…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: Fun point & click game with some flaws, but totally worth the money. Can be completed in 7-8 hours. Recommended for: Players who can handle crude humor, some pixel nudity and for lovers of the point & click genre. The good: + Interesting characters, world and storyline + Well animated + Voice acting is good (in Russian, adding to the atmosphere) + Good port to Unity with plenty of achievements and trade cards + Alt+tab works fine, and so does the Steam overlay (even in your native…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded The two russian mischiefs Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev and his friend Petka are looking for the stolen russian red flag, that was stolen by the White Army. Almost all of my russian friends have very fond memories of the original that was released in 1998. But I haven't played it back then. Sooo I can't really say what exactly was improved, as I personally have not played the original. The humour is somewhat funny, in a quirky way. Still some jokes can only…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know that many people would disagree, but I can't really recommend this game. Yes, gameplay-wise, it is a classical point-and-click adventure game with a lot of good and difficult puzzles (and with excellent Russian voiceovers). But in regards to the story, it is like an epitome of platitude! There are stupid jokes, there are dirty jokes, and there is nudity and nakedness and then even more nudity. A little bit of it could actually be funny, but put in just too much of it - and it would look…

There are so many puzzles and things to explore in this game that you won't really get bored of it. The…

Almost 17 years on, we bring you back the true Russian video game industry classics, remastered for modern platforms. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded is the remastered version of Red Comrades Save the Galaxy which was released in 1998. It's a point'n'click game with the main story happening in Russia during a Civil War, where our characters go in a recovery mission for the lost flag, and they end up saving the world, at least for the moment. The main protagonist are Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev(in the subtitle Chapaev won't be mentioned) and Pete(like this his name is translated...I think in the old game he…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was actually a bit conflicted whether to write my review in Russian or in English. Obviously in Russian it would be preaching to the choir. As I presume most of the Russian-speaking people playing this game played the original, and see nostalgic value in this game. So I decided to write it in English. Even though most of it will probably be talking about things around the game, and not the game itself. So let’s start with some assumptions. If you’re reading this, I’ll assume you: 1. Don’t…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Point and click adventure game with a quest to find a Russian symbol. True to it's Russian nature you'll see a lot of Russian stereotypes and clichés which can be fun and annoying. I do wonder whether I'm walking through some sort of mini-Russia with drunks on the streets and being poor with almost everyone asking for money and many things just broken or in a worn down state. To come accross Very rude and impolite people is something I didn't expect, actually. The game has a very usable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me just start by saying that it's not a BAD game, just a game I don't particularly like. I think to really enjoy this game you need to be at LEAST one of two things: - a fan of point and clicks - Russian Unfortunately, I am neither of these things. I mostly bought this because I like things related to the USSR, but I don't think I have enough first-hand knowledge to find this game all that funny. It has its moments, sure, but overall it feels like a joke I'm not in on—which makes sense,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A strange but different combination of Sam & Max Hit the Road and Full Throttle meeting slightly off the wall mid nineties post Soviet Russian humour. The characters are basically over the top versions of Soviet folklore fighting in a cartoon over the top version of the Russian Civil War which when you think about it is a strange but very endearing concept when it comes to settings. The comedy whilst slightly dated is translated well (the dialogue is subtitled and you can speed read it if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow this game is super. Very strong storyline makes it stop useless. I personally like cartoon graphics like this so much and a lot of jokes makes it a very good adventure game. "get the key that is in the bottom of the aquarium and guarded with a hungry fish " Thats phenomenal. I really recommend this game if you want to laugh so much and enjoy playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Red Comrades Save the Galaxy is retro looking point & click adventure that reminds of ooold Russian Folk Tales. I would probably love it if it had full english audio, but this way reading subtitles all the time is too distracting. Pro's: +Beautiful retro graphic +Funny as hell +Cheap Con's: -Fully enjoyable only to people who understand Russian -To many interaction options
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has original graphics scaled to modern resolution. Animation is horrible, everything is so slow, I dont recommend to by it at all. Dont waste time and money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quirky and funny... this adventure PnC game delivers. Solid puzzles, excellent Russian voice acting, excellent graphics and animation, and memorable characters. Lot of cutscenes toward the end. Nice work with the subtitled translation. Although I do not know the language, the translated subtitles were clearly understandable, and they had enough of the weirdness that it matched the gameplay. I enjoyed getting a bit of cultural insight into this historical period, in a very humorous and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded is a remaster of a classic RU point and click adventure, the very first big(ger) budget one, which was so influential it essentially borne a new sub-genre of typified "Russian quests" ("quest" being how "adventure" genre was known due to Sierra series) - wacky pop culture heavy parody adventure games. And yet, despite always having a soft spot for adventure titles, this was my first ever time playing it, simple due to how incredibly pop-culture reference…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A must buy for any fan of point and click adventure games. Great story, humor and gameplay. Game is great for people that aren't as good in old school adventure games as me. When you have item you collected you will know when and where you can use it, so you will not have to run in circles not knowing where to use something just to progress in the game. That way all frustration is gone, making this game more casual experience but that nice feeling you get after beating a puzzle stays. You also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice puzzle game with some nice hand drawn artwork which is pleasant to the eye. The audio of the game is in Russian but there are subtitles which you can read at your own pace. It's a fun point and click adventure with a clever story. It's a good story that little kids can pick up and play. Recommended!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escessively anacrhonistic and tasteless humor. Boring story with little incentive and motivation to complete the story. The end goals are poorly defined. Poor voice acting. A lot is lost in subpar Russian to English translation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crude game. No english vocal option, but there are sub titles. Just feels rough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was okay. The story didn't really engage me but P&C fans will like it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And that's why Communism will save us all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I played Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded, i had a small wee wee, no friends, no girlfriend, depression and absolutely no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why but my first impression it looked pretty lame... But I ended up loving it and just bought the second. Highly recommend to point and click fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im not a fan of point and click, but this piece of work is a... real piece of work! In the Russian civil war, heroes like Vasily Chapayev and Petka, have to answer the call of motherland. Fighting the whites is not enough for them, they also take head-on with some mean greenies from outer space! Low budget point and laugh game, with some very valuable history lessons, which are really very inaccurate... Buy it CYKA!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an ugly, unpleasant experience. This game is neither fun, clever, or interesting. It's simply and utterly ugly. No better way to explain it. Visually, story wise, puzzles, and "humor". Simply ugly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has some of the worst nonsense 90's adventure logic I've personally come across (It's nowhere near the worst, just from what I've played, it's bad). I can't tell what parts are meant to be satire and which parts are just offensive, but since this is from the 90's, I have to assume most of it's just poor taste. The movement is so painfully slow, and since you'll have to leave and reenter so many rooms it adds practically an hour onto the playtime moving from one side of an area to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found this game funny when i was 10. -toilet humor -bad subtitles -bad game Stay away from this dumpster fire.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was not what I aspected. Being a fan of point and click games from the early 80's like Larry, Police Quest etc. I bought this after seeing the good reviews, the original concept and because it was on sale. My conclusion; although the idea is fresh, the game has no good settings options and plays weird. The all round esthetics of the game is poor. Lastly (although less important) the game is Russian voice acted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic point & Click adventure аbout two heroes of russian anecdotes. The game is a collection of clichés, jokes and gag about Sovet Russia. And greatly exaggerated. It is worth and fun to play. For non-Russian speakers: The game has lost a lot because of the translation. Petka and Vasily Ivanovich speak very flowery, many phrases with double meaning. In the translation all this is not present, it translates only the meaning of the phrase not the style and feelings. Many phrases simply omitted…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is in Russian. There is English subtitles, but the signs in game still in Russian and some text doesn't translated. You will miss a bunch of jokes because of this. If you speak russian and you love PnC games, you will love it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well This game is a total vaste of money and time. After few minutes from starting the game it jus freezes. Dont know how it performs in windows, but on linux it just dont work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic Russian quest on a new engine and updated graphics. Fans of such games will love it. :) By modern standards humor is toxic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfunny poor humour, terrible graphics, disgustingly bright and oversaturated colours... The humor is built on vulgar jokes that won't even make most people who decide to play it smile. I don't want to play this awful game. The only plus is the cards that somehow detract from this pain
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game, while mechanically being a classical point and click adventure, is probably oozing more slav-spirit than anything I have ever played before. This is on a level of politically biased that it becomes one of the most hilarious pieces of adventure gaming I have seen in the last 25 years. I don't speak a single word of Russian, but the syncronisation was highly hilarious all the same. And even although the game isn't that long, it sports a lot of content, considering its actual age. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great story line, funny dialogs, great artwork. The game revolves around many elements of the Russian folklore, I'm not sure if someone who doesn't have a Soviet background will understand, the English translation is not very good, the puzzles themselves are not very hard though they all make sense, no moon logic, the game is not very hard but you do have great time while playing,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Russian adventure game set in Russian civil war. Except alcoholic beverage and boobies. + Fascinating story + Great humour + Russian voice acting + Suitable music - Some wierd gaps/pauses in middle of dialogs - Some sprites are drawn in worse quality than others - Minor errors in some translations/mouse over labels Overall rating ☭/☭. Let's drink to that!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →26 лет спустя, прошел эту игру второй раз в жизни. Все такая же отличная штука, как я ее запомнил. Спасибо за счастливое детство. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wants to allocate >4GB disk space, Local Files occupy 3.2 GB, but it only downloaded 433MB (which makes sense for a game like that). So i hope that Russian Spyware is at least funny! :D But sadly the English translation is already a bit disapPOINTing (get it?!): Satanists instead of Anarchists, really?! Even if it's just for a cheap pun...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →all the voice overs are in russian. For me, that got annoying quick. If you have multiple monitors, the game will display on your left most monitor no matter which you have set to your main monitor. The writing is poor, and the dialog when you click on an item that you may not be able to actually pick up or use is sort of vague and unclear, like asking "Why?" when you click to open a suitcase. Does that mean I'll be able to open it later? Does it mean I should ignore it and keep moving? This…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've never played this before, there's absolutely no reason for you to buy or try playing this. But man what a great time this game was.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two times I have tried to finish this and I just can't. I did not like this game at all. Whoever did the art is obviously talented but it looks so unpleasant - the garish colors and the chaotic way everything is put together on screen (but I find a lot of 90s P&C games are similarly ugly, this is just not my taste). I didn't like the humor at all (which is a huge part of the game) but I feel that is largely in part due to it being from another time, in another culture. The translation is poorly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best adventure games I've played, and anyone who likes the genre must play it. That said, there are a few small spikes of intense racism, act 2 is way too horny, and the game is overall not good when it comes to portraying women. But it's still incredibly good!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good P&C, classic style. Specifics of this one are: - Russian-voiced. High quality. - Verbose. Might annoy someone, but Russian sounds so good I drank it all. - Slow. Transitions can become bothersome. A quick-access map solves most such occurrences. - Tons of red herrings, i.e., loads of interactive spots, loads of unique dialogue lines. - Gamepad-friendly, because it's a modernised version. Best part for me is the character design and writing, but I enjoyed all aspects of the art. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-Василий Иванович, а это точно квест? -Конечно, Петька. Просто сначала нужно поговорить со всеми… по три раза.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bunch of nonsense with annoying main characters. The comedy malfunctioning 90% of the time in a game that has nothing else to offer is kind of a big deal. The art style is very inconsistent. Nostalgia should be listed in the tech requirements. The game doesn't work without it. 100% Completion time: 9 hours 36 minutes 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story did not convince me and I kinda just dragged myself from one spot to the other :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bored me to death. I like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle, and this can't compare. The humor is old-time Laurel and Hardy style, which isn't my thing, and probably isn't your thing either.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved it since I was ten. Thank you, devs, for reloading this project.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't know the existence of this gem. I'll be honest; I kinda found it because of the last Steam summer sale. I was browsing for cheap point-&-click games, since I'm saving money for a new desktop, and current using my old laptop from the year 2k04'ish. So, after I've read the description of the game, and check the minimum system requirements, I knew I had to have it on my steam library. ...and what can I say about this Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded? It's a fun, irreverent…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old school game, nostalgic...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave this a go for 3 hours ... but I'm finding it very tedious ... life's too short! I am usually a fan of point & click games, but this one just didn't have it for me.
