So you are stuck waiting turn after turn after turn after turn to take cities, slowly wearing them down, while the AI chain defends them with multiple armies that will never run out of men. So defenders advantage is present in 1 on 1 scenario. And you can't utilize superior forces for a 2 on 1 scenario. Utterly ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot endorse this game for the following reasons: - The game is shallow so it can get boring quickly - The combat is ridiculous. Trying to manage morale is the main reason for this. You can be winning a battle and dead certain to win if your troops keep going only for them to retreat due to the moral bar hitting zero. It happens nearly every close fight. - The diplomacy is also poor. Trying to maintain relations so that you aren't at war with 3 or 4 factions at the same time is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Developers love the game. I'm sorry for the negative review, the game is not good for me due to broken expectations. Some other people may love it. The tag in the game description says it is casual, yet it enforces savescumming. The game provides extensive save management, hotkeys and gives 2x - 5x multipliers to your performance if you use savescumming. If you don't, you are handicapped. If you do, the game becomes a hard grind, especially in coin-flipping minigames. The game is hard. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The early game is fairly fun. The end game is horribly tedious to the point that it began to drive me mad. Loads of money got siphoned for eternity even at the greatest tech level (some tech lowers siphon by a tiny bit). Getting tech involves waiting forever, or getting new tech twice as fast by playing the same minigame OVER and OVER and OVER again. There's immortal bandit camps which haven't added a speck of fun even in the early game, and it clearly confuses the AI as well. There's so many…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the artstyle and a simplified 4X game seemed like an interesting concept. But all the minigames just don't cut it for me, and Jesus Christ, the dialogue is verbose and uninteresting high school humor.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plebby Quest serves as a great introductory experience for those who are interested in map-based grand strategy games. I played and enjoyed this game immensely before moving onto Crusader Kings 2, and now CK3 and Total War are my games of choice over any other genre. This is the definition of a gateway game. I will likely never play this game again, as I have better experiences in other games of the genre, but I highly recommend this title for anyone remotely interested in starting their…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth it in 2025? On a sale I'd say. Here's my pros and cons... Pros: - simple, but good grand strategy gameplay e.g. waiting for strong enemy to have weak armies then attack with your well rested ones to take a couple of cities was fun - how you set out your army affects outcome (not just levels of troops, but combinations of units - some work well in combo and can beat stronger types. Some are better in attack, others in defence). - I played for 18 hours, gave up, then just came…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good alternative for someone who wants to play Crusader Kings but not so deep. This game has taken more than 8 yrs to be made and used to be a good example why crowdfunding sucks to Korean gamers. Well the result is pretty good anyways. Similar to CK but totally irrelevant to real history. Pretty kind&fun tutorial to the beginners and scenarios that make you laugh. Design is so cool and no lags...in short,,lighter version of CK People who play CK real serious with history context might not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Figured I'd try this game out, and the tutorial caused an auto-loss (had no sugar left after upgrading troops, so couldn't heal, and troops don't heal without taking the Rest action)... Tutorial was taking a LONG time to get through and find out more about the game, and Steam only allows refunds for 2 hours. Sadly, this policy means that you only have 1-1.5 hours to sell someone on your game, and losing half an hour because your tutorial self-destructed is embarassing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is pretty unique, but its also boring as hell and progression feels like its gonna take 2 generations to get somewhere. all in all i dont recommend this game. especially for the price it is!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very unsure on whether to recommend this game or not, i really want to like it on one hand i can see that love and care went into this game and i really like certain aspects of it, but on the other hand there are some glaring issues the combat feels pretty uninteresting as far as these types of games go, and it gets old fast get it on sale and try it out for yourself
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - Great visual component. The way everything is designed - my respects. - The game mechanics are simple but engaging, which makes it fun to play. Cons: - Every little action take aaaaages to do due to small unnecessary dialogs. I can understand this for the first time, but having to click through five interactions just to enter an inn is frustrating! - The AI makes illogical decisions and seems to operate under different rules than the player. For instance, even if the whole world…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy-to-play strategy games, so exciting to conquer the world by my military!! Very addictive!! (Look at my hours!)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is interesting, but let down by some weird design choices and takes many turns to get to anything interesting. First off it can take quite a few turns just to get to tier 3 units. This is a problem because tier 1 and tier 2 units arent that interesting, but in order to upgrade a unit past tier 2 you have to have another tier 2 unit to upgrade it (and it is consumed). It takes a little while and can be quite expensive if you dont have a lot of money. Just dont lose a battle with them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't like this one. The humor is unbearably bad, and the fact that the developers don't use English as their first language and didn't bother getting someone that actually did to fix the dialogue and texts is painfully noticeable at times. The minigames are boring and the combat system is whack. I think you would be better off playing CK 2 and dealing with the complexity than wasting time with this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weak thumbs-up for this game. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Did I play it for 155 hours? Yes. But many strategy games run into a really common problem: the game is overly simplistic at the beginning, extremely fun in the middle, and then an annoying, frustrating grind at the end. Plebby Quest exemplifies that problem perhaps more strongly than any other strategy game I've played. The middle section is so fun I can't in good conscience give it a thumbs down, but... yeah, 155 hours of play and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unending streams of 5th grade humor (with the grammar of a 5th grader to boot) sprinkled with a bit of a mobile strategy game. haaaaard pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sense of humor and dialogue fall flat for me. Unfortunately this game is really heavy handed with extra dialogue. I found myself not knowing what to do in the tutorial because I got bored and tried to skip some dumb jokes. I wont even know if there is a good game underneath this because of how this game handles dialogue and cutscenes in the tutorial. Every time you click anything in the first few missions you get several panels of dialogue intended to be funny.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is too clunky and the lemon isn't worth the squeeze to me. Clicking through unnessisary dialog is clunky. The UI is split up weirdly and clunky. The fights aren't engaging, but you need to press buttons every once in a while. In the tutorial I made an alliance with a country I was later supposed to take over. The only cities I could attack always seems to scale a little faster than me. The coin flipping mini games are annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →way too grindy, there near no strategy to the game your ever stronger them your enemies and can defeat them or your not and trying to beat them is a wast of time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →story mode you are a laggard muslim prince with the longest tutorial intro ever. random mode is low-replay bc everything is fixed; it's one of those games where the map is always the same and player positions etc
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you feel intimidated by CK2/CK3, or if you're already a fan of CK2/CK3, then Plebby Quest is a game you'll enjoy immensely. The aesthetics work incredibly well, and the humorous bits here and there deliver a refreshing experience to the genre. I really hope there's more content for this game in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont get this game. It is boring. there are not enough decisions to make, and the decisions you can make feel very low impact. very hard to conquer other cities. humor is horrible. Very disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played 80 hours, mostly free play mode, ive come across a couple of annoying faults with the game that leave a bittersweet taste... 1) the playable nations on any given map that you can choose to control are limited !?! 2) your capital can not be moved ! yet the npc nations can and do ! (this is a big problem) 3) the re-spawning of destroyed nations ! now these could be fixed/added with updates, altho... since looking at the community hub, ive seen other peoples comments about similar or the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If i were a history teacher, this would be my e-lesson.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the only real downside of this game is the battle system simple, little bit boring, and time consuming otherwise the game is very good in arts, music, plot and translation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a charm, but I feel the decisions are not very interesting in the end and games drag on and on. Playing this just made me want to play Crusader Kings instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The way morale works in a siege is completely backwards
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little casual grand strategy. It has some skill minigames when performing certain actions, and that's quite fun, at least for a while. Art is really good. There are annoying and repetitive bits as well, especially if you're playing on a big map.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed but didn't finish. Best thing is to grind before invading, not really my thing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plebby Quest aims to satisfy a niche of newbie users who want to approach the grand strategy genre for the first time and, with a set of good but not too complex mechanics and decent stories, I think it manages to. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →KAMGUSTA'S MINI REVIEW This is what your grandmother, not knowing anything about games, would buy for you at Christmas, thinking it's "what kiddos like in 2020s". It is not. Clunky textual interface. Lots of annoying and uninteresting dialogues with cringe-worthy humor that you can't skip. Stupid mini-games. Boring fights. Puddle-deep mechanics. I guess developers tried to make a more casual and funnier "Crusader Kings", but they failed miserably. I wonder who has the courage to play it. Best…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3.5/10 this game is trying to be sooo many things at once and falls short on all accounts meh basic army fight and its slowww meh story + can fast forward story - cant skip story and still need to mash or click every single box tutorial is sooo long and boring you cant buy this, you cant do that... ok but when can i??? its been an hour all play time past this is afk card farming
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun, but i would like if you could play as any kingdom in freeplay mode, thank you for this master piece tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very grindy, distracting dialogues, lackluster battle mechanics, lackluster strategy mechanics. It feels like nothing ever happens, everything takes ages to do. The interface is awful and badly designed. There are comments for every little thing you do that prevent you from closing windows if you don't read them. I feel like the game has potential but it really needs to be remade from the ground up. I was curious and brought it for 3,35€ and I would say it is okay but do not buy it full…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plebby Quest is a fun, simpler version of Crusader Kings with all actions driven by generals like in a Nobunaga's Ambition or somesuch. Combat is reasonably solid with some simple tactics and a variety of unit types, and the game makes entertaining little minigames out of things like training or advancing research. It gets a little grindy to wage war, but clever inclusions like separating cities from their capital in order to render them neutral go a long way towards helping. It may not have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →☢ NOT GREAT https://youtu.be/5x72gvKlAC8 ☢ NOT TERRIBLE
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a good integration of turn based strategy and "platform" fighting. balanced progression with earnings and spendings of resources of all kinds. even though it is not totally accurate about the history it shows, it is accurate enough with the names of rulers, states and cities so you can search them online if you want to. you can say it is an educational game :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Good, just note you can't quite play as every nation, though I already knew this, don't buy this without knowing such if you were interested in playing as nations that you can't play as ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feel like playing Crusader Kings but don't want to get too deep in? Too bad. Simple and addictive, you'll lose just as much of your life to the dreaded "just one more turn".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game, it's fun. But the fact is most of the game features are mini games make the late game a chore. If you play a lot of strategy games, don't expect much from the AI, they work on basic principles as when they're stronger than you, they attack, if they're weaker they just sit there and watch you conquer the world. They seem to never invest in any researches or improving their generals, except for countries that bordered the outlaws for they have to fight continuously. At just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the scenario mode for this game, and it was a lot of fun. The story lines are all unique and each story plays differently even though they use the same world control system. I would have to say my favorite system was the assassins guild. My one critique to the creator is that the morale settings be changed for combat. It seems to be currently set up to only increase if the troops are face to face with the enemy and it will drop if you break this and are not punching forward. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would really love to recommend PlebbyQuest, but I just can't. The idea behind this game - a grand strategy in a casual format - really appeals to me, and I believe it's a solid game at its core. However, a few decisions were made that, at a certain point, make the game simply monotonous and tedious. Add to that a few issues of a... geographical and historical nature, and you get a picture of wasted potential. First things first. The concept of the game and its core gameplay are fine. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It got too repetitive and boring later game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cute strategy game. 4 dollars (on discount) for >40 hours of fun, that is more worthy than 95% of games out there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →simple and occasionally pretty funny turn-based strategy war game! it's not too overwhelming or too boring, sits just right for me personally.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good smart boy game for smooth brain like me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazingly good game! Despite the odd text bug, this thing really is like Crusader Kings destilled, except it's also a pretty seamless collection of minigames, as well as packing some retro flash game goodness AND it has actual strategic depth. At least way moreso than you'd expect of something that from afar might look like a quick, cheap romp. It's not, it's one of the better things I've played on steam, if not in general, and does so many things wonderfully. Absolutely recommended, and I'd…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plebby Quest: The Crusades is a console ported grand strategy game set in medieval Europe. The game is a thematic ripoff of Total War: Medieval and Crusader Kings, only with dumbed down graphics and gameplay and an attempt at slapstick/comedy visual novel components interrupting the otherwise stock standard turn based grand strategy gameplay. Gameplay consists of the usual strategy tropes... manage your kingdom, engage in diplomacy, research through tech trees, build your army, and of course,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute design for the UI, but heavily flawed in it's mechanics, but you could put it down to it being a very basic linear game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For someone like me that are scared of even trying most grand strategy games this felt like the perfect intro to the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried playing the campaign, but the characters speak so much nonsense, that has nothing to do with gameplay, that it became boring. I do not care about some person making unfunny jokes, but developers inserted the tutorial into all of that BS. I just returned the game. Don't recommend it, unless you are buying the game for a child.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I figured the Coleco Vision graphics would allow the Devs to spend their exceedingly limited resources on deeper gameplay, but in an unforgettably ironic twist, the 2D block people came represent as much depth as this game could muster.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crusader Kings meets Total War meets Arts & Crafts 101 meets Mario Party.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite horrible introduction due to terrible writing. Would not buy this unless it's on a deep, deep sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is imo a bit of a hidden gem. Some other reviews kept saying it is like a combo of Crusader Kings II and Total War but I disagree. It is more like what Total War would be like if it was a phone game. The game is quite simple in premise, it is turn based macro and real time micro. You recruit generals and every general gets to do 1 action per turn, you can have like max 9 generals when you have reached peak strength. The battles are 2D, your troops fight the enemy troops and you can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 Quite a nice strategy/tactics game. I had enough fun! 3 interesting campaign missions. I'm gonna buy the DLC, to play the other 2. My subjective "fun" grade is 7/10 (which is quite good, but not totally at the top).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst game I have played in some time. It's a go fetch quest to be able to do anything. You're constantly managing menus and requirements to get to the next thing. But the next thing doesn't work, you spend lots of gold to attack, inevitably you lose, rinse and repeat. There is literally no depth or role playing. Whoever thought this game was 'ready', a pox on your house and soul. This was a money grab game better suited for a phone, and it would still suck.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good strategy game. Need a sequel. Relaxing. The idea of a comedy grand strategy games have never been done before, all the other grand strategy games always try to take itself seriously and be historically correct.
