Planet Terror
Two doctors find their graveyard shift inundated with townspeople ravaged by sores. Among the wounded is Cherry Darling, a dancer whose leg was ripped from her body. As the invalids quickly become enraged aggressors, Cherry and her ex-boyfriend El Wray lead a team of accidental warriors into the night. From TMDB

He strongly reminds me of this guy in the movie "Planet Terror" (2007), the restaurant owner, who had this disgusting sauce and meat all over the place. Ugh.

unlabelledView post →Ok hear me out here. Someone adapts Killer on the Road/The Babysitter Lives from @sgj.bsky.social as a 70's Grindhouse style double feature film release. Much like what we got from Rodriguez and Tarantino with Death Proof/Planet Terror. Keep it low budget, kind of campy, but fun as hell.
unlabelledView post →okay so at least when you’re watching Planet Terror b/w Death Proof, you know that the guys creating these are genuine FANS of the b-movie schlock. Man I can’t be fair. The Hobo With a Shotgun thing just came across like someone trying to be weird

unlabelledView post →I revisited the full GRINDHOUSE double feature for the first time in many years. I still love it and it's interesting to see how it plays after many changes in both the real world and the movie one. I still prefer DEATH PROOF but PLANET TERROR has really grown on me and they work great together. 🎥
unlabelledView post →I don't think I could ever get tired of Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror. I'm a sucker for giant catastrophe stories that bring together a bunch of disparate characters, but this movie also contains like five other sub-genres and is *beautifully* filmed. Practically any frame could be a poster.

I think I’ll watch Rodriguez’ “Planet Terror” tomorrow! #TonightsFilmSelection

unlabelledView post →On the Eighth Night of Spooktober, a classic was enjoyed. Planet Terror (2007) One of the parts about this goofy movie that makes me laugh the most is the way that one guy is obsessed with collecting balls 🤣 Like, no point to it, just a random fixation he has.
unlabelledView post →Just finished watching "The Gorge", which you would think was based on a video game, but apparently wasn't. Think Firewatch (game) + Annihilation + Planet Terror. Now that I think about it... done right, this actually could make for a decent video game. ;)

unlabelledView post →142. GRINDHOUSE aka PLANET TERROR & DEATH PROOF (2007) This film recreates the Grindhouse cinema experience. Two sleazy films, multiple fake movie trailers, and concession ads. Can either be watched as two separate movies or a complete experience.
unlabelledView post →It’s a bit simplistic, perhaps even “high concept” for Quentin, but I can forgive the thin story because the action & visuals are so dynamic. I actually felt like I was being abused as I watched the film, but that ending is oh so satisfying….. and it was definitely more memorable than Planet Terror!

unlabelledView post →It felt like Tarantino was at his most self indulgent in this movie with like half an hour of dialogue that didn't go anywhere before anything actually happened. Luckily Planet Terror and the ads were fun. Rodriguez saved Grindhouse

unlabelledView post →Furyball is a love letter to Grindhouse cinema & pulp 70s. Rollerball + Planet Terror × The Warriors. Excessive violence, retrofuturism, scratched film, blood, dust, and over-the-top action. We wanted to make something dirty, excesive and cool. Got any hidden gem of the genre we should watch?

Full of fake film scratches and cigarette burns like "Planet Terror." They absolutely nail the style of a disreputable 80s horror flick but it's a bit too abstract. #Filmsky 📽️
unlabelledView post →Planet Terror was Robert Rodriguez. Eli Roth did the Thanksgiving parody trailer (and stunk up Death Proof as one of the misogynist bros--not a stretch for him, I think). And yeah, Planet Terror was the better genre pastiche. But Death Proof was the better movie for the same reasons.
unlabelledView post →It was a decent movie but if I am honest, I preferred Planet Terror

unlabelledView post →Grindhouse (2007): A double bill of 70s inspired horrors as well as a bunch of fake trailers. Death Proof is much the better film, with an insane car chase, but Planet Terror is a lot of fun. The fake trailers are brilliant, particularly the Rob Zombie one. A fantastic concept.

unlabelledView post →Finished Planet Terror last night but didn’t start Death Proof. Watching it now (30 minutes in). The amount of feet (closeups, walking shots, hanging out car windows, film opening up with them on the dash) in the first 10 minutes, even for Tarantino, is CREEPY. Fairly boring (still). Great music.
