unlabelledView post →I started this game back in 2022 on the hardest difficulty available, because my giga big baba bubu ego looked at it and said: “Yeah, easy.” Fast forward to December 2025. After multiple rage quits, several month-long breaks, and my sanity being slowly peeled away layer by layer… I finally finished it. And honestly? What a feeling. This game destroyed me. The difficulty, the encounters, the puzzles...everything constantly pushed back. Every fight felt earned, every mistake punished, every…

unlabelledView post →This game was not for me and I think having put 50 hours and 2 attempts into it, I gave it a fair shake. I really loved Rogue Trader and most of its elements (space combat could have just been scrapped and I think that game would've been no worse off). Anyhow - back to WotR. The writing felt extremely campy and juvenile (though I am told it gets better in the later acts), despite a very cool premise and world that I was interested in. The combat had started getting better when I decided to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one was exhausting. Wrath of the Righteous is a colossal and ridiculously ambitious project, delivering a high-fantasy epic on a scale and level of complexity that puts the competition to shame. Even though it has plenty of rough edges and presents itself in a very restrictive way, it is a respectable and deservedly successful work, offering an experience with strengths far beyond what its minimal budget should have been able to support, and earning itself a place among the best…

I love the overwhelming possibilities for roleplay and character building. The core of this game is impressive. What is built upon it, however, is not impressive. I have many complaints but they all boil down to this; playing this game more often than not ends up being such a chore. So so so much time is wasted on doing stuffs that are…

unlabelledView post →After spending 1000+ hours in the game, I finally completed it. Break down of how the time was spent: ~600 hours designing a character I want to play on a specific mythic path (E.g. a thematic wizard or sorcerer for Lich), only to be drawn down the Trickster route ~100 hours rage re-loading when the 'fun' build can't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag on Core difficulty before it reaches Act 3. ~200 hours on turn based combat where my full melee team can't hit the enemy on any roll…

unlabelledView post →I am the target audience for this game and it still manages to be crap. I really thought that Owlcat had learned their lesson with Kingmaker, gotten some experience, and developed an enjoyable CRPG. Boy was I wrong. Before you get your torches and pitchforks and tell me to git gud, I am good. I theorycraft broken ass Pathfinder characters as an occasional past time and play tons of turn based tactical games. What I don't like about this game is that is what is demanded by the game and expected…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Owlcat Games I did kickstarter this game back in 2020 they gave me a beautiful game with an end user license agreement where I was in shock with installing to my PC, software like a spyware and also taking my geolocation and reviewing all my documents from my "C" drive and with the excuse will be anonymous. At that time I had one computer for everything (banking, business, gaming), and decided no to install this game. Now I have a PC just for games and still the same end user agreement. What a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to love that game but I just can't. There's a lot to like on the surface: pretty good writing, interesting dialogue, an intriguing story... ... But oh boy, they made the same mistake as Kingmaker by sticking to Pathfinder 1st edition and just cranking every single trick they had in the book. Now yes, I know the tricks - always pre-buff, plan encounters ahead, have countermeasures for every single possible debuff... But WotR is a BIG game. It's long. It has a lot of fights, most of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wrath of the Righteous is not a game for everyone, and somehow that’s become an excuse for people to pretend it doesn’t have glaring issues. Yes, the story is solid. Yes, there’s a ton of replayability. The writing is generally strong (a bit cringe in places, but nowhere near the juvenile tone you see in plenty of other RPGs). So, on the narrative side, it does its job. The gameplay, however, is a mixed bag of baffling decisions. I’ve played this across multiple difficulty settings, and the…

The mechanics, world, campaign, companions, items, levelling are all things that I love about the game. Basically the only issue I have with this game is the encounter balance. I've never played a game that feels like the devs hate me as much as this one. This is one of my favorite game genres. I have over 1,000 hours in CRPGs and consider it my favorite genre. I won a single-character…

unlabelledView post →I love this game, it would be my all time favorite if they could just fix it. Why does it bug out so bad that I cant even complete main quests now? Googled the fix, the fix is go download a mod and cheat to get past one part of the game because despite how long its been out, the devs cant seem to fix one bug that makes it so you cant loot the bodys that have the key for you to get out of a place. So now my play through is dead in the water and I wont be downloading a mod to fix it, ill just…

unlabelledView post →This game is like a tedium simulator. It doesn't respect your time and 90% of the time played is doing boring mindless chores and trash encounters. The devs spent so much time putting bloated "content" into this that they forgot it was supposed to be fun.

unlabelledView post →Really enjoyable game to start, but man do the load times that begin to creep up, once you get out of the early areas and head towards Drezen, put a dent into an otherwise good game. I've tried all the various fixes, edits, etc. and it barely makes a difference. It's a shame, because I was just getting to enjoy the story and building up my character and armies. This is one of those times I wish Steam had a "mixed" review option, because that's how I feel right now.

unlabelledView post →Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a great game, easily one of the best cRPGs out there. I'm really happy I waited a few years for this Enhanced Edition release before giving it a try. If you happen to like these kinds of games, you should definitely consider buying it, especially when it's 80% off during Steam sales. Now, that doesn't mean this game is perfect or that it doesn't have its fair share of issues (see the cons below). However, most, if not all of the problems this game has can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I loved this game. So much so that I can confidently say I’ll keep coming back to it and replaying it for years. I recently finished my second full playthrough, and at this point I can honestly say it’s my favorite game of all time, right alongside The Witcher 3. Owlcat Studios won me over with this one, I will play every game they release in the future. This is easily one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played. The story, companions, soundtrack, and gameplay are all top-tier, but what truly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game. 100+ hours, and yet I haven't finished my first playthough. I don't know, at some point everything just felt like a chore: prebuffing a lot, having so many summons, combat taking over 3 business days. Story's somewhat interesting but I don't feel that immersed since there's a lack of voice acting. There was a point in time where I genuinely enjoyed the game, wanted to finish it, and maybe do more playthroughs. But now? I'm just burnt out. Demotivated. I can't anymore. I'm…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played on the easiest difficulty because I wanted to focus entirely on the story. I can't stand isometric games or turn-based combat, yet this is the second Owlcat game I've poured an insane number of hours into. That alone says a lot. The story I experienced - and the path I forged through the game's incredible dialogue reactivity - felt truly unique. The lore is outstanding. The dialogues are excellent, the story keeps growing in scope like a snowball, and the sense of scale is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like this game is amazing for people who adore deep lore and mechanics that are thought through to the most minute detail. I, unfortunately, am not that type of person, so all the reading and complex mechanics are overwhelming rather than enjoyable to me :( but I sure hope the people who do like that type of gaming have an amazing time with it!! <3
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really wanted to like this. It's definitely up my alley. But I just couldn't bear with the game's dialogue. The broader narrative seems like it could be interesting, and the characters are fine conceptually. But the writing here has huge variance in its quality. Sometimes it's fine, but other times, particularly when it comes to spoken dialogue between characters, it reads like a rough draft for a YA novel. Or an incomplete English translation, which is more specifically what I assume is at…

unlabelledView post →Tedious. OMG, after a while you get tired of seeing 300 + HP enemies with spell resistance that are also immune to poison, death while also having 40+ AC. It feels like work to cast the same 30+ spells at a party for every 15 minutes of gameplay just to be able to deal with this. And its around every corner. My level 11 party routinely sees something like level 27 enemies, with something ridiculous like 36 consitution and immunity to ability drain. These enemies eat 6+ sneak attacks and are…

unlabelledView post →Man, this game is bloated. Don't get me wrong, it is not quite a bad thing. I like long games with meaningful content, but if they cut a third of it, it would be just perfect. - The crusade part is undercooked. It is like a Heroes of MM-like mini game, but there is not much space for experimentation with the troops or trying tactics. There are some basic units, but the upgrade for them feels random, and the mercenary units are many, but good luck recruiting many for cheap. You can skip it, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →listen, I've tried. I've tried so many times to like this game because it is so up my lane and the character creation is so complex and such a treat for DnD fans. I've tried with so many class variants and mods and all and yet, the playing dynamic is so underwhelming that I just cannot find any motivation whatsoever to continue aside from the characters and the romance which is surprisingly very good (daeran my pookie). the plot was interesting in the first two acts, but it starts becoming…

Its way more hardcore and chunky than the popular larian games or Pillars of Eternity series but belive me if youre able to get into it its 1000% worth it. The amount of content is insane, i played arouind 250h, beat the game on the Azata path, did every quest i could, and i still feel theres ton of the game to explore in subsequent playthroughs. Over Kingmaker, which had made a surprisingly late entry into my top 10 favorite games, I appreciated some of the technical improvements, new music, and so on; I really wanted to like it.
