unlabelledView post →I joined the boyz to talk about PAPRIKA, a regular movie that I love very much. Also @davidlsims.bsky.social made a good joke about skeets podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/b...

unlabelledView post →for my fellow film enthusiasts, the movie is apparently Paprika (1991)
unlabelledView post →I went and saw Paprika in the movie theater for the first time and it cured my depression. You can only see Paprika’s freckles on a gigantic screen, and some transitions have more power being in a theater seat. I’ve watched it enough times that the dream speak makes sense. Love you Satoshi Kon.
unlabelledView post →also i finally gave Tokyo Godfathers a watch the other day and between it and Paprika, which i also adore, i really do think we lost a master of the medium when Satoshi Kon passed away. phenomenal movie.
unlabelledView post →There's just something comforting about the world's elite spontaneously exploding. I was expecting a terrible movie but, Predator 2 was aight. LMS was everything it was made out to be, that casting was perfection. Next Paprika watch, I'm gonna be high as a kite. #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday
unlabelledView post →If you haven't seen PAPRIKA, get in there RIGHT NOW. Here is the opening sequence. (ps film contains disturbing scenes, so probably not suitable for kids)
unlabelledView post →Man, Paprika is such a good movie. I understand why Christopher Nolan would want to steal it
unlabelledView post →It's crazy how I've never seen fetish art of Dr. Tokita from Paprika. Maybe the movie just isn't that popular

unlabelledView post →Really amazing line-up at the Sci-Phi Film Festival just north of Philly! Only got to see Paprika and Terminator 2, but that alone was a rad experience!
unlabelledView post →Really, really loved seeing Paprika at this film festival except for the guy who "introduced" it by reading from Wikipedia (he even showed us his phone screen) and saying his friend got him to watch it by saying it's like Inception and then he just talked a bunch about Inception

unlabelledView post →Some really detailed storyboards from Satoshi Kon's final film, Paprika (2006). These are not pretty just for pretty sake; I've learnt in recent years that Kon blow up some of these boards for use as layouts, which makes good sense. unlabelledView post →We do movie nights in the VGBees Discord! Usually they're on Saturday but this week we're doing it on Friday at 6pm ET. It's Paprika! 2006's wonderful animated film that may or may not be the basis of the film Inception. It is also much better than Inception. Anyway! discord.gg/vgbees

unlabelledView post →I hated that movie so much. They had a great cast and all the money in the world and they did nothing with it. People should just watch Paprika which is the movie that inspired it

unlabelledView post →Last night's film was Paprika. It's a truth universally acknowledged that watching one Satoshi Kon film begets watching the other 3. Paprika is my favourite, and I long to make a game with its themes. Nolan never said this, but I'm sure there's some Paprika in Inception, which I also really loved.
unlabelledView post →Decided to draw my favourite character from the movie Paprika! #art #Paprika
unlabelledView post →Just watched Paprika for the first time I enjoyed it, but what a wild movie that was
unlabelledView post →So, uhhh, the misogyny and fat jokes in Paprika (2007) surely did not age well but it's still a movie I enjoy overall and it was magical when I was in art school. Now for another movie that's "magical" and has a lot of problems: Resident Evil (2002).

unlabelledView post →Watched Dreamscape last night, which clearly had a big influence on Tarsim when he directed The Cell (love that movie) although Dreamscape also has a Cold War/CIA plot going. Big fan of movies that take place in the mind, like Paprika for example. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamsc...

unlabelledView post →Okay, I've somewhat mentally healed since last night, and in the meantime, I watched Paprika. Paprika's a psychological thriller anime film, and Satoshi Kon's last work before his death in 2010. Just like his other films, this one is a masterpiece.
