Anshar Studios has contributed to other games and dev’d a couple VR games so hard to say anything about their record. Congrats to Painkiller fans for getting a new game that isn’t shovelware.

Review’ll be up later today, but I really must confess that I love the game even if very few others seem to. The guns are SO good.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation: A remake of the OG and as a result, it is a solid entry worth playing, albeit similar. A lot of changes were made some for the best some watering down the experience, but ultimately if you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Painkiller is such a ridiculous game. Bunnyhopping around army dudes wearing ball gags shooting them with a shuriken launcher and then suddenly you're in a cutscene that seems to think it's telling a serious story about heaven, hell and redemption. It's adorable

unlabelledView post →No need to waste an hour writing a review for this game. It doesn’t deserve that much attention, and I’m stunned they even dared to release it. This is a downright disaster in the franchise. Yet, it started off okay. The gameplay is the same as Black Edition or Overdose. No changes there, but the formula is fun at its core. Now, let’s move on to the stuff that pisses me off, and there’s a ton of it. In fact, that’s pretty much all there is. Let’s start with the French translation,…

Every time there’s some bullsh*t we should face and say “no” to, we swallow it and say “that’s fine”. Remember that horse armor for TES IV: Oblivion? “It's just the cosmetics”, right? “It won’t change anything”. How’s that going? What’s with the grim intro you may ask? Well, the thing is, that’s exactly the story of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This series is ok but this particular entry feels rushed. Everything looks lazy, map design is terrible, and this pile of junk crashed a dozen times in 2 hours. Hard pass!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like very much Painkiller series but this part is bad, tons of bugs and bad map desing. I'm spending more time to find the way, where to go than fighting with enemies, also in The Town map after it loads, i'm spawning out of map and my character dies so i can't progress. At the end i can say that this game is badly optimized, fps goes under 60 often on GTX1060 and i5 3570 3.4Ghz processor + 8GB ram, i'm really dissapointed how bad this game is.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst game from the Painkiller saga. The loading screens take 3~5 to load a single map, the level design is beyond horrible, the enemy placement is boring and tedious, the "enormous, explorable areas" just don't mix well with the gameplay and will make sure you get lost way too often, the story is too predictable, a lot of performance issues & bugs. Do yourself a favor and get Painkiller Black Edition instead of this mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →New Painkiller game follows the tradition of the series. AKA it's terrible. The writing/gameplay don't feel like it was made by people who understood what the original game was about. It's essentially discount Doom Eternal with forced multiplayer. Let me kill demons alone, don't force bots on me!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This thing even greets you with the words "fun made product". Firstly, the engine and core are the same, so you have rhythm jumping, pleasant 150 FOV, climbing, shortcuts for shotgun and stakegun and the game looks good and clean (that is, in the places where devs used textures and not blurry placeholders). But it runs very poorly and has its share of bugs and crashes. When i reached haunted city it wouldn't load the level and i would just fall down into grey abyss. Fortunately, i forgot about…

The game play is mentally traumatizing despite the fact that there are only six levels. The new protagonist in this game has Max Payne-style graphic novel cutscenes- he stood in front of a bus as C4 he planted to kill a bunch of mobsters was about to kill innocent civilians. Now he's in hell and he has to kill a bunch of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →55. Twisted Tower (2026 Video Game) Visually it feels like Bioshock, mechanically it reminds me more of Painkiller. The ending was trippy but look man, I'm just happy there's an indie FPS that isn't taking influence from the same pool of Quake and Doom that every other indie FPS does.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's looked more promising then Redemption, but it's still kind of mediocre and unplayable due to bugs + Reasonable amount of enemies, levels look interesting, well-drawn comic cutscenes - Buggy mess: long loading times, frame drops, placing tarot cards crashes the game, in the ends it refused to launch regardless of re-install. Worst is use of absolutely unreliable physics: super-steep ladders you're not sure you can climb, small holes you might fit or might get stuck in, player or enemies…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess this is where the bell curve begins to dip on quality, not good at all. Hearing that the games after this get worse... I think I'll get off pain train here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mostly Negative? Come on that's a meme this point. Is nowhere near as bad to deserve this rating. Mixed would be fine, like a 50% on rotten tomatoes or something. It has good stuff and bad stuff. I love the metal/goth aesthetic. The story is insane and blowing up demons feels like a doom or a quake but on steroids. They ragdoll and explode like as if you did a fatality on them. The loading times, bad level design and jank do bring it down but it's worth at least one playthrough IMO. Then…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thankfully this is a fan made game.... Why i don't like this game? -spaming same enemy which is a new character with 1 color texture. -no spawning effect. -super small enemies. -the smaller is your enemy the more health it has. -unreachable secrets. -you have 0% light in dark places. -getting stuck in every corner. -has glitches that can get you out of the map and won't let you go back until you restart. -sometimes the arrow stops without telling you where to go. -the hero looks like a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me list the reasons nobody likes this game: 1. technical issues- lighting is awful, collision? what's that?, hitboxes range from small to large with no consistency, fatal error when going into demon mode, fatal error when loading within the last 20 minutes, fatal error on a fatal error (i ♥♥♥♥ you not), and no amount of bug fixing can fix this. 2. weapons- slower than previous games, weaker than previous games, one new weapon in ONLY levels 5 and 6 (so you'll never get to use it). 3.…

It's the same simple, fast shooting you'd expect, but it feels flat and has no spark to keep you interested. Level Design & Structure: 3.5/10 The level design and structure are extremely repetitive and boring. I tried hard to keep playing and couldn't. I dropped it very quickly, and it wasn't because of the graphics or the gameplay, only because of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As loading screen says, it's a fan made game. It should be free. It should also be avoided because of how many bugs, bad level design and performance drops it has. Any positives do not make this game worth a try.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to play Painkiller: Black Edition on my beefy $6k computer last night and was shocked to see it ran 3fps. Spent 30 minutes of my 1 hour of game time last night trying to "fix" the issue.
unlabelledView post →This is the absolute worst Painkiller game there is. I even refuse to believe that it exists right now when I am writing this review. It's weird, it's redundant, it's repetitive, and it does not even work properly.

These trash maps make it a challenge to find the next checkpoint. The game crashed a lot, and sometimes i find myself in a spot where i can't move anymore. I can't believe that at the end of the game i get asked to play these trash maps again on the highest difficulty too see the "real" ending. Hell no, i watched the real ending on youtube. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Resurrection had me longing for the good old days of Overdose again. Overdose may have been unforgivably buggy; inexplicably long loading times together with frequent crashes artificially extended its play time by a factor of 2 at least, but it was admirably creative. Every level had a different theme, with distinct textures, props, and even enemy designs. Resurrection is more stable, on my PC at least, but the levels are depressingly uninspired: gigantic, sprawling expanses of gray…
