It’s a beautiful 2D platformer that focuses on movement, timing, and flow rather than overwhelming you with systems or clutter. The progression feels natural. You unlock abilities as you play, and each one meaningfully changes how you move through the world. Backtracking never feels like a chore because new skills open up paths that previously felt impossible. The platforming…

It was just an experimental drawing to practice my painting skills that I still need more work on. Took a while what video game art to make next so I decided on Ori And The Blind Forest. #OriAndTheBlindForest #XBox #MoonStudios #Fanart

The controls, the flow of the movement, that masterful, challenging level design, everything about how Ori plays makes it an absolute blast from start to finish.

The first 4 winners were all indie games. (Ori and the Blind Forest, Inside, Cuphead, Return of the Obra Dinn). Then it was all AAA until Expedition 33 last year.

I accidentally cleared all achievements via the steam console, so after a 2 year break, I replayed the game. It's still a masterpiece. Yes, the DE is better in every aspect, yes, you don't need to play the original game if you have the DE, because it's the same game but with a lot of improvements. Nevertheless, even without all the DE…

unlabelledView post →Ended up completing Ori and the Blind Forest in one sitting. I like it BUT; The game has far too many "escape" bits. And they are long. And dying means starting the whole bit again. Be it from the big ol' owl, lava or water - got a bit much. 8/10 #blutoid #ori

It's such a pity that the director is showing J.K Rowling Syndrome, where he can direct and be a part of the making of such a beautiful world, yet he can't stand behind what the world exhibited. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished Ori and the Blind Forest for the first (and probably last) time. Such an incredible game. Very frustrating in parts, but honestly, that's part of what made it so good. Going from cursing the characters, to crying over them at a moment's notice. Everything about Ori is beautiful.
unlabelledView post →I'm maybe half way through the game, have die over 300 times, but I'm still having fun! Luckily I'm stubborn enough to get through the harder parts \o/ EDIT: I finished the game and it's honestly just stunning. The story, music, sound design and visuals are all amazing. It made me cry, laugh, curse, and even scream couple times when I got scared in couple of events. I will be playing the next Ori but surely return to the original too! (probably trying Definitive Edition next) PS. The game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good metroidvania game, I understand why people like it so much. The story is pretty interesting and a bit emotional too. The mechanics, visuals, sounds, locations and controls are nice, overall. It also has some challenging parts, but those are kinda fun too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After completing the Definitive Edition, I thought I would see what the standard edition is like since it comes with a purchase of the Definitive Edition. Plus, I'm going through my unplayed games and since this is a separate copy, it counts as a different game. There was a lot I liked about Ori, I finished it once, but playing it again and especially the first version makes me remember everything I didn't like about it. It can be very punishing and frustrating. I didn't realize that in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played a bit of Ori and the Blind Forest. GORGEOUS game, but I just don't like difficult platformers. It's a massive shame because I think the movement in this game is really fun. However, the game gets difficult very early on and I just stopped having fun.
unlabelledView post →Unless you are a seasoned platformer player, this game is going to make you grind your teeth and ragequit several times. Whoever said this game was "relaxing" lied to me. The learning curve is steep and there was a point around the second zone that I just ?? :) gave up and started following a walkthrough. I couldn't figure out where to go, what to do, how to progress. Mind you, I tried on controller and keyboard both, and found keyboard to be more comfortable for me. As I am writing this…
