60 of 341 · most liked firstOri and the Blind Forest is one of those games that reminds you why simple gameplay, when done right, still works. It’s a beautiful 2D platformer that focuses on movement, timing, and flow rather than overwhelming you with systems or clutter. The progression feels natural. You unlock abilities as you play, and each one meaningfully changes how you move through the world. Backtracking never feels like a chore because new skills open up paths that previously felt impossible. The platforming…

Took a while what video game art to make next so I decided on Ori And The Blind Forest. #OriAndTheBlindForest #XBox #MoonStudios #Fanart

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 311: Ori and the Blind Forest A new favorite of mine, this game looks gorgeous, and that's not even my favorite part about it. The controls, the flow of the movement, that masterful, challenging level design, everything about how Ori plays makes it an absolute blast from start to finish.

unlabelledView post →Having just beaten Ori, it's easy to see why this game is so beloved. It is an incredibly beautiful and well-paced game that does most things right, but I think it suffers a bit when put under the microscope in a few aspects. Not enough to make it bad, not enough to warranting a thumbs down or not recommending it, but enough to prevent it from being a masterpiece. First, praise where praise is due. Let's start with the visuals, which, for the most part, are absolutely top-notch. It's been a…

unlabelledView post →This game and Will of the Wisps are among my all time favorite metroidvanias. The gameplay is so fluid and i love the art style, the music is also amazing. The story is simple, wholesome and emotional. A must play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Random Game Awards trivia I just stumbled on while doing research. "Best Art Direction" launched as a category in 2015. The first 4 winners were all indie games. (Ori and the Blind Forest, Inside, Cuphead, Return of the Obra Dinn). Then it was all AAA until Expedition 33 last year.

unlabelledView post →Great game to play on the deck. hopefully this review comes on top for OLED users, so they cap the fps to 60 in system (3 dot button). This will resolve the stuttering issue and will make the playthrough more enjoyable
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ori and The Blind Forest had no right being that sad in the first five minutes of the game. 😭
unlabelledView post →Such a pleasant journey! I played both the original and the DE. I love the QoL improvements (teleport 👍) and new skills (dashing!! Super super super useful - learn it ASAP) over the original. I've had multiple playthroughs already, but I ALWAYS manage to (unintentionally) get Ori killed in all sorts of creative ways. Sigh at my clumsy fingers. Its rich artistic visual style and soundtracks are super enjoyable. The animations are incredibly smooth and responsive. The gameplay is challenging…

unlabelledView post →What an awesome game! Great story, beautiful art, fun gameplay, and an amazing soundtrack. What more could you want? I also liked all the behind-the-scenes and promotional content. It was really cool to see. The only issue I had was that the 4K resolution wouldn't stick, so I had to enable the High DPI scaling override under the Compatibility tab in the game's .exe properties. Overall, it was a great experience, and I love how cinematic it felt. It's definitely one of the better platformers…

unlabelledView post →Gem of a game I started this year wanting to play a good platformer - something that has great reviews and which I could finish fairly quickly to clear out my backlog. This game has been sitting in my library for almost a decade. Getting into the specifics, the story sets up your journey in the land of Nibel beautifully. The areas/levels and puzzles are brilliant and thoughtfully designed and the way new abilities are introduced to help you overcome these environments is pure genius. Have to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked this game up alongside its sequel Will of the Wisps as they were both on an ABSURD sale. The bundle including both games was a measly £5.61 as opposed to £35.98! But let me tell ya, I GLADLY would've spent that cash and THEN SOME with how absurdly good this game ended up being! Where do I even begin?? First off, if you even REMOTELY like the Metroidvania genre, this is an absolute must-play no questions asked. It was the perfect blend of not being TOO overly complicated to the point…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ended up completing Ori and the Blind Forest in one sitting. I like it BUT; The game has far too many "escape" bits. And they are long. And dying means starting the whole bit again. Be it from the big ol' owl, lava or water - got a bit much. 8/10 #blutoid #ori
unlabelledView post →Ori and the Blind Forest is such a beautiful video game soundtrack. S tier. So glad I was finally able to pick up the vinyl.

unlabelledView post →I'm not gonna lie, I don't see the appeal of this game. First off, the combat system: it is probably the worst combat system of any game I've ever played. Just stand still and mash the attack button until you have to dodge an invisible pixel or the enemy is dead. There are a few "boss fights", of which 90% are the same enemy copy pasted, which is easily cheesable. The other boss fights are also not challenging in any way as long as you don't throw yourself at the wall hoping to face tank it.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Colorful, Fun, and Tactically Rewarding Experience I’ve had this game sitting in my library since around 2018 and never got around to playing it—until now. In hindsight, I’m glad I waited. I recently decided I wanted to start playing beautiful, story-driven games with my 4-year-old daughter, and this one immediately came to mind. From the moment we started, she was completely drawn into the world. The environments, creatures, and overall presentation captivated her right away. She loved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stumbled upon the score for "Nine Sols" (an indie video game I had not heard of but looks really cool?!?) and it reminds me a lot of "Ori and the Blind Forest". Quiet, stirring, and great music for writing.
unlabelledView post →I absolutely adore Ori and the Blind Forest From the overall gorgeous art, animation, music and world design to just how fun and slick Ori’s movement is to use with one of the greatest platforming mechanics to ever exist, to even its sappy story. There are very few Metroidvania games that click with me, but despite that Ori and the Blind Forest became one of my favorite games of all time. Admittedly it may not for everyone, But I would still highly recommend giving this game a shot. It’s not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, wow, wow. First off, Ori and the Blind Forest is like no other metroidvania/platformer game I have ever played before. By no means is this a perfect game, but truly peak storytelling. Right from the beginning of the game I was so blown away by the gorgeous atmosphere. The combination of visuals, OST and gameplay really made the overall gaming experience enjoyable for me. Gameplay wise I have mixed thoughts about some things. Some ‘boss’ encounters and chase sequences just felt lackluster…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It gave rather controversial emotions Ori is sort of classics and example of good platformer, however issues with the game have left bad impression. It has outstanding visuals and great soundtrack. And I have played far more, so I know what I am talking about What I want to say is this game lacks telegraphy. There are plenty of moments where you hardly get the idea what to do and most of them are single run sections so you have restart a lot, watch cutscenes etc. Sometimes screen is visual…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →11. Ori and the Blind Forest: DE the fact this game had me sitting down for a nearly uninterrupted six hours until I finished it, something I am otherwise completely incapable of doing, speaks volumes about how much I liked it I wish spirits were real store.steampowered.com/app/387290
unlabelledView post →First thing you notice is how stunning this game looks, it would still be jaw-dropping if released today. The colours leap off the screen, and the world is a joy to be in. Exploration is fantastic, Ori always feels great to control, there is countless platforming routes to take and secrets to uncover. Progression feels incredibly rewarding. It can be difficult at times and some sections i needed to take a break and return to. I died a lot, but that’s par for the course and the game never felt…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →genuinely one of the greatest games i've ever played, genuinely cant believe this came out in 2015 (2016 since it's the definitive edition) the story, music and art style are all next level
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite being 10 years old, it's undoubtedly one of the best Metroidvanias I've ever played. Having always been a PlayStation Player, I never had the opportunity to play it, but now that I'm on PC, I'm so happy I gave it a chance. It's a game with gorgeous, never monotonous aesthetics, full of QOFs that greatly enhance the experience, and it's finally a Metroidvania that places the challenge in the platforming, and not just the enemies and bosses, something much more common in recent…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you see this, quote this post with a game with a 10/10 soundtrack. 🎶 Ori and the Blind Forest is my comfort soundtrack and one of the only games I've ever played fully (not counting Sims and Age of Empires lol)

unlabelledView post →Mysteries and odd Concept Art Game - Ori And The Blind Forest
unlabelledView post →Yes, this game is beautiful. But control just seems not crisp and unreliable. Same inputs seem to give different results of character actions. Difficulty is also very uneven. Levels are not very hard but some sequences at the end of the levels are just ridiculous. And the run at the end of the game is so punishing it's just not fun. It is a chore. I've had fun finishing Rayman Legends, including musical levels, and when I messed up I knew I was to blame. Here, combination of sketchy controls…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enchanting, inspiring and magical at the same time (again)! Still this is the only game I've played that has such beautiful graphics, wonderful music, interesting challenges, a very emotional story and immersive atmosphere! And if you want to collect all the achievements, then there is also a certain grind aspect to it. I highly recommend playing this pleasure again! This time in the Definitive Edition. Overall: 9/10 ⭐ Story: 10/10 ⭐ Gameplay: 7/10 ⭐ Atmosphere: 10/10 ⭐ Graphics: 10/10 ⭐…
