The bastard child of John Carpenter and James Cameron, this is a the movie that should have played third at a Drive-In in 1987 after ROBOCOP and MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. And that’s the whole point. Bonus 80s points for Reginald Valjohnson! So much brutal fun!
positive · AI labelView post →My brother directed Onslaught! Watched it last night and I loved it. I told him it felt like the ultimate version of movies we made as kids. Also we were huge Tim and Eric fans so it must have been kind of surreal to get Eric in his film.
positive · AI labelView post →Adam Wingard's "gonzo actioner" ONSLAUGHT is assembling one hell of a cast. The latest to join? Aliens star Michael Biehn, making his long awaited return to studio action films: bloody-disgusting.com/movie/383956...
neutral · AI labelView post →Director Adam Wingard says he was eager to make another original film like ‘ONSLAUGHT’ after working in the Godzilla franchise for almost 10 years. “Even though I was able to put my own stamp on [Godzilla], there were still pre-existing rules I had to follow.”
neutral · AI labelView post →Terminator 2 meets Jason Voorhees in Adam Wingard's new movie ONSLAUGHT, releasing in theaters September 4 from A24. From Wingard & writer Simon Barrett, the duo behind The Guest. Adria Arjona stars. Want to see the trailer? It's only in theaters, attached to #Backrooms.
neutral · AI labelView post →ONSLAUGHT feels like the work of a band of filmmakers who are running screaming from pixel-driven studio gigs. Dan Stevens never beating the weird little freak allegations. Possibly the most Adam Wingard movie ever made. Drew Starkey spin-off when?
positive · AI labelView post →New retro-style character posters for Adam Wingard's ONSLAUGHT spotlight the A24 film's killer cast, including Adria Arjona, Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Michael Biehn, and Reginald VelJohnson. See the full poster series: bloody-disgusting.com/movie/396324...
neutral · AI labelView post →Now that the heatwave is over, outdoor movie night is back! First up, Adam Wingard & Simon Barrett’s ONSLAUGHT!
neutral · AI labelView post →"ONSLAUGHT" or "Oh Hey A24 Released A NEON Movie For Some Reason" 🤷♂️ Perfectly solid no-bullsh-- B-movie from the "We like all the same John Carpenter and Joseph Zito flicks you do" mold but refreshingly free of "ironic grindhouse" affect. Imperfect, but it'll be a few guys' new favorite thing. 👍
neutral · AI labelView post →Adam you cheeky mf. If the town is in ONSLAUGHT, it’s not shown. ONSLAUGHT takes place in a dystopian trailer park right out of an ’80s Italian apocalypse movie. And it’s awesome. More of a thematic sibling than a sequel, imo. You can read all about it in the current Fango 👀

neutral · AI labelView post →Now watching Onslaught (2026)!
neutral · AI labelView post →I've already got my ticket for Onslaught, I rewatched The Guest a couple weeks ago, and now I'm going to revisit the first film in this Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett trilogy
positive · AI labelView post →I really wanted to love ONSLAUGHT but I ended up very mildly liking it instead. The movie does an amazing job in the first half building up the super soldiers as the ultimate badasses. It then proceeds to not pay that off in an even remotely satisfying fashion. Kind of stunned tbh.

neutral · AI labelView post →Has anyone seen that new Onslaught movie? It looks like the kind of trash I enjoy but I can't tell if it's any good or not ahahaha
neutral · AI labelView post →Ran across a random referring to Onslaught (2026) as a "reddit-ass movie" and every time I see a new movie referred to as "reddit" I get more and more confused as to what the fuck that even means in the context of films. 😂
neutral · AI labelView post →Onslaught (2026) gets a hell yeah from me, brother! A mean 90-minute action horror movie that oozes John Carpenter from its every pore! Neon lighting, synthwave soundtrack, every shot is filled with smoke, sparks or fire. And its gory as fuck too! I loved this. 👍
positive · AI labelView post →Watching “Onslaught,” a film that seems like it was custom built purely for my enjoyment. In reality, so far all I feel is indifference. It wants so badly to be a loving Carpenter homage w/ elevated action but the homage is lifeless and the “elevation” lacks understanding of action construction.
negative · AI labelView post →New trailer for ‘ONSLAUGHT’. Starring Adria Arjona, Alex Pereira, Drew Starkey, Rebecca Hall and Dan Stevens. Directed by Adam Wingard, the film unleashes in IMAX on September 4. #Onslaught #AdamWingard
neutral · AI labelView post →this thread is primarily because i watched Onslaught last night and it was a blurry unfocused mess of a film and i am convinced that there was sexual violence in the main characters backstory that was excised at some point

positive · AI labelView post →Adam Wingard's ONSLAUGHT absolutely f*****g owns. So hard. It's maybe the best John Carpenter movie that John Carpenter never made. Straight up loved it.
positive · AI labelView post →#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched By Any Means - Really good film, surprised I didn’t see a single trailer. Onslaught - great if you like guns & gore and want to watch something that doesnt require your full attention

negative · AI labelView post →Not to be a contrarian but Onslaught whips, actually The movie, not the mid 90s prelude to Heroes Reborn. The new film from Adam Wingard with Dan Stevens and Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Wareheim, starring Adria Arjona The Rotty Tom score is skewed by people who don’t understand beauty

neutral · AI labelView post →I REALLY liked Onslaught. Felt good to see another Wingard/Barrett film back in this style. I think the third act gets a bit all over the place and a few things under delivered on payoff, so it isn’t quite as stellar as The Guest…but goddamn it was so much fun.

neutral · AI labelView post →Adam Wingard's ONSLAUGHT is a whole lot of build up that never fully pays off. The underdeveloped cast of characters are dispatched so quickly their deaths don't register, and Adria Arjona's badass climactic showdown is also in a disappointing rush. My review, at @thewrap.com.

neutral · AI labelView post →Onslaught (2026) has a pretty dope poster. Dunno if the film is actually good though.
neutral · AI labelView post →A24 films / movies are terrible. Just can't watch them. I watch a lot of movies, and not just mainstream. European movies, Arabic movies, the occasional Bollywood movie, but I can't sit through an A24. It is just cheap, pretentious, kitsch, artsy shit. The colours are always off, the sound and music is horrendous, the shooting, the lighting, the stories. Just tried again with Onslaught and had to delete it after 20 minutes. I rather watch any Asylum movie than this crap.
neutral · AI labelView post →#NowWatching Onslaught (D:Adam Winged, 2026) "Yet, the main problem is that Wingard seems to perceive Onslaught as pastiche in a way that he didn’t with his other films and bad pastiche fails both the present-day viewer and the works the film is supposedly paying homage to."
negative · AI labelView post →I enjoyed Wingard's ONSLAUGHT (2026) - A John Carpenter-style Action Thriller which is actually really a Horror movie. Very well shot. Feels like it was at least partially inspired by the novel "AFRAID" by Jack Kilborn. #FilmSky #Horror
