So, when I found out there was a sequel, I figured I had to try it out. Unfortunately however, it doesn't quite live up to the original in my opinion. Before I actually get into the negatives, however, there are a few things this game improved over the first one. The character roster consists of a few humorous parodies of various well-known…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game honestly doesn't hold a candle to the original. I could rely on being able to make some really sick burns directed towards my friends, in a lighthearted manner, in the original. In this game, the most common subjects of ridicule are things like "your director" or "your costume", and turns the game from an insult simulator to an inside joke simulator. It adds some new mechanics, but honestly this game suffers deeply from its decision to focus on pop culture references, instead of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not quite as good as the first Oh Sir and doesn't really add much to the experience. I don't know that insults based around movie characters are quite as effective here. Go with the cheaper original game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically, an english lession. String noums and insults together, get points. Drain the adversary life (burn? patience?) bar first, you win. Funny, but rather repetitive. Might work better as a party game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Found this one to be quite similar to the first game, with some improvements. It's a silly game, but it's funny if you get the jokes. Also easier/quicker to get all achievements because it doesn't require you to match specific phrases like in the first game. Some people prefer or only enjoyed the first one, I actually found both enjoyable, but this second game features a Steam workshop, something the first one should have too. By the way, too bad there's no third game. Verdict: Funny game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy the Deadpool-esque reference humor this game is going for, I won't say that this game isn't worth the money. There are gameplay improvements with each character having a short campaign of sorts, and the comeback mechanic making rounds more interesting. I just don't feel like the humor is enhanced by the format of Mad Libs insults. It gets stale to me a lot quicker than the original. Don't get me wrong, it's not a "bad" game, I simply don't find it fits my palette.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty bold move telling a professional writer to "learn to grammar" because you included words that can be used in multiple ways, but only allowed the to be used one...with no indication of how they're meant to be used.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the first game in the series, but this is one feels like a chore. Playing the game is quite easy, so there is no challenge and you'll get bored soon.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually… basic fun. This is a Words/Puzzle game with a comedy angle. The graphics are adequate; the music is okay. The story is made up of several short bits, poking fun at familiar characters and actors. No bugs or crashes. Overall, entertaining but not that funny. Most of the time it’s just nonsense wording that still scores points. On the bright side, it’s very light to play if you just want something short between meals. It includes cards and achievements, though the last two demand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really just not as funny as it could have been. The game is essentially just checking whether you can string together a grammatically correct sentence and not much else. The options you have to choose from are very limited and not guaranteed to make sense, let alone be humorous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I insulted too hard. I insulted too much. I now have no friends and no family? No one who will speak to me. I live under a bridge. Please help me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the characters can't be unlocked (Nosferateen). The developers keep hinting that you just need to take part in some multiplayer games, but that blatantly doesn't work. Just play the original - this game is basically the same thing except it drives completionists insane by having permanently locked content.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun, but nowadays the game is unfortunately dead, so finding anyone in a multiplayer match is impossible...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: This game is hilarious and wonderful, especially with human opponents. CONS: This is the only game that requires approx. 37 clicks to just exit the software.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a worse adoptation of your mom and was seen by kim kardashians spicy naughty tape.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game if you enjoy random banter and cheesy python-esque insults.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's pretty fun for a quick play but not really anything more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: This game is terrible. Buy the first one. Let me start off with the pros. I will admit that there are far more possibilities and choices compared to the first one. However, that's where the pros end. The first one is better. If you want an Oh Sir game, get the first. This one has an ugly artstyle, and terrible voice acting. The gameplay is terrible as well, in the first one, when you said something funny, it might not give you many points but at least you didn't actively lose points.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →can be Cheesy at times but overall overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not even near as funny as the first one. They penalize you in this for making a silly phrase, which is really what made the first game so good. Get the first one instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Essentially its more of the same. This version doesn't expand upon the original in enough ways to be its own game. Your brilliantly strung insults are scored poorly, while the CPU gets essentially the same score for confusing gibberish. Being fooled into buying what is essentially an enhanced flash game was the real "Insult Simulator".
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sharp humor with the Monty Python feel, good references, witty lines and still the same amazing artstyle. What else to like?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They upgraded the battle system while downgrading everything else. Career challenges are the exact same for all characters. The CPU opponents are even less capable of keeping up with the new phrase mechanics and expanded vocabulary. The art style has more details but became less appealing. The humor and voice acting went from absurd and over-the-top to "quirky" and so, so tame. A complete bore. Thanks for the gift, X71!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh...Sir! The Hollywood Roast is a hilariously addictive party game that brings the drama and laughs of Hollywood to your screen! With witty roasts, customizable characters, and endless replayability, it's perfect for friends gathering for non-stop fun. The clever humor and engaging mechanics make every session unforgettable—highly recommended for comedy lovers! 🎤
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the first game, not much has changed. The characters are now outdated pop culture icons like Gandalf, Harry Potter, and O-Ren Ishii from Kill Bill. Instead of classic insults like "Your mother is your father", you now have to craft phrases like "Your last movie feels like a forced sequel" or "Your therapist got their degree online." It's rare to come up with truly funny insults, and the Hollywood aesthetic doesn’t appeal to me, so I don’t see much point in playing this. You’re…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game for the first 30 minutes, but after that, it's just plain boring. Additionally cannot recommend because one of the steam achievements is to complete 65 multiplayer matches, which (assuming anyone even still plays multiplayer or you have a friend willing to) is a boring grind that will take quite a few hours
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh... Sir! The Hollywood Roast is a simple game that can definitely be a blast... However, in 2026, the average players usually sits around 2, much like its predecessor, with nobody even playing in online lobbies. This makes achieving 100% achievements almost impossible without friends assisting you. It's only really enjoyable early on and if playing singleplayer, or trying to unlock all characters which, in 2026, is completely impossible without going back to older versions in order to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great, even if people think it isn't. great for a few laughs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the unlockable characters is literally bugged. You can literally do everything there is to do in this game. Finish all the character tournaments, complete all the achievements, try literally every combination possible, and you still won't be able to get the full roster. Meanwhile the devs are more than useless in fixing the issue or giving us any sort of insight as to how to unlock that last character. It's a fun novelty game that can kill a few hours, but I cannot recommend a game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First one's better. This one's too full of references to be any fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You'd think this would be funny, but, no, it isn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The original game gets stale after a while, but the childishness, poshness and silly monty python references makes it feel more endearing than annoying. Plus, the pre-written dialogues before each round were kinda funny (the first time you read them, at least). The hollywood roast is just the classic case of swapping quality for quantity. The words pack less punch, but they are more vulgar, and there are more of them. The scenes are less interesting, but there are more of them. The characters…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun concept poorly executed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good training tool for Letterboxd discussions
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lost it's charm. I don't care very much about insulting movies/characters
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not nearly as funny or charming as the previous entry in the series. There seems to be less insult variety, or at the very least, it's tied in much more heavily to the characters used, which severely limits your options. The addition of trophies can be really frustrating, especially when you're chasing combos and the game just doesn't want to cooperate (or arbitrarily decides not to give you a combo despite you clearly reusing elements of the previous insult you used).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big upgrade from the original roast game I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my friend gifted this to me so i could use caveman brain and insult people until they are dookieing out their lungs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Worth 70 Cents. it is newer then Oh Sir the insult Simulator and still sucks, The interface is hard to navigate, the tutorial does not explain that well and it just seems like a really mediocre cash grab. I was over the game and ready to be done after the tutorial Just buy the CHEAPER first one, it was good enough finish the tutorial and the entire game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The "Your adopted kids" noun could make your insults 100x more weird. "Your dad has a fetish for your adopted kids!"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its honestly really funny to see Hollywood caricatures partake in turn based insult battles. Really well made and fun game. I just wish there were DLC or content updates. Still, its got some great workshop content and its still worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty good, like the integration of hollywood stars but with slight twists. similar to the previous game, good with friends
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello, Ive played a few hours on this game and id like to write my review on everything, but first you should probably be aware that there is mild swearing such as using hell and the d word in the wild west level. So I reccomend this game is not for players under 11ish. Anyways here is my review : Length 4/5 For the price I guess the length is great but I feel like ive already chopped through most of the content and I started the game yesterday so thats all I have to say about that Content…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So did you ever want to race to grab phrases to make an epic roast.... No? Well it's really fun any way, Its actually pretty simple to make custom characters, And the voice over system is easy and efficient

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is polished from the previous iteration, but the jokes are not as funny and it has lost its novelty appeal for me, as there weren't a lot of new features - mostly quality of life improvements.
