Ocean's Twelve
Despite pulling off one of the biggest heists in Las Vegas history and splitting the $160 million take, each of the infamous Ocean's crew have tried to go straight, lay low and live a legit life... but that's proven to be a challenge. Casino owner Terry Benedict demands that Danny Ocean return the money, plus millions more in interest. Unable to come up the cash, the crew is forced to come together to pull off… From TMDB

unlabelledView post →It follows classic "heist movie" tropes, like more 'Ocean's Twelve' than 'Dirty Dozen'.
unlabelledView post →Ocean's Eleven: This is a refreshing, poppy buddy movie made by up-and-coming stars Ocean's Twelve: This is an artsy deconstruction of a heist movie Ocean's Thirteen: This is an over budgeted sendoff to the characters we know and love Ocean's Fourteen: This is pissing on Bernie Mac's grave

unlabelledView post →my favorite example of this is Julia Roberts playing Tess playing Julia Roberts as part of a scam in Ocean's Twelve after they realize she looks just like Julia Roberts. honestly the third movie shoulda just been all of them doing Hollywood heists after they realize they look like Clooney, Pitt, etc

unlabelledView post →Ocean's Twelve - 2004 this movie is insane, it's gone from a kinda insane heist to superspy shit but it's so good. as a sequel it's a bit goofy but it's incredible on its own. still really funny too
unlabelledView post →After rewatching Traffic not so long ago and randomly slogging through the terrible Brad Pitt movie War Machine (2017), I've realized Topher Grace is one of the worst actors around. But he's also somehow in three of the best movies of all time (Interstellar, Ocean's Twelve, Ocean's Eleven).
unlabelledView post →OCEAN'S ELEVEN (the modern one) is good but OCEAN'S THIRTEEN improves upon every gag and makes them sublime. (Meanwhile I hate the "Julia Roberts" gag in OCEAN'S TWELVE so much that it colors my opinion of the whole film, though I am grudgingly learning to appreciate the good bits of it.)

unlabelledView post →fake movie fan, the scene with Thé à la menthe by La Caution is in Ocean's Twelve not eleven (congratulations!!!)
unlabelledView post →One of my favorite scenes in the otherwise mediocre film Ocean's Twelve is where Rusty & Isabel board the G-V. *Great* choice of jet. 😍 The scene wouldn't have had nearly the glamour if there had been, say, a King Air waiting on the ramp for them. #avgeek
unlabelledView post →Truly a staggering cast. Only other movie in that stratosphere that I can find is Ocean's Twelve, with 11 Oscar-nominated actors, plus Carl Reiner.
unlabelledView post →I'm fond of this bit of the contemporaneous Pitchfork review of Watch the Throne: "Listening to it is sort of like watching George Clooney get all his movie-star friends together for a party at his Italian villa, and, along the way, maybe dream up Ocean's Twelve. (I liked Ocean's Twelve.)"

unlabelledView post →Ocean's Twelve: Markedly worse than the first movie. It feels like the reveals were considerably more ass-pull-y than the first one, and a lot of jokes either don't land or land too late The Julia Roberts scene was memorably bad. Still, I found some enjoyment 4/10 He's doing it sideways admin

unlabelledView post →Ocean's Twelve has one of my least favorite movie tropes, where a character pretends to look like the actor that is portraying them. Completely takes me out of the movie.
unlabelledView post →If we're talking cartoonishly inept in uninteresting ways - most of those I watched at home. (Or possibly memory-holed them out of self-preservation.) If we're just talking a movie that I felt failed at nearly all of what it was intending to do, and which I Did Not Enjoy - Ocean's Twelve.

Today, it's Top Gun on @paramountpictures.bsky.social Choppy editing to shave off a few seconds here and there, makes the film viewing stilted and flows poorly. Why do film directors sign licensing deals that allow lousy TV edits?
