unlabelledView post →Forty-six years on, Nine to Five (1980) a great movie. You might think you know it, that you remember it, but you don’t. Parts are a little clunky in the delivery, some of the transitions are very dated, but it takes some seriously risky swings and manages to connect on most of them. Also, Dolly.📽️🦋

unlabelledView post →I've watched Nine to Five yesterday (great movie, btw) and I've come to the conclusion that Dolly Parton is a fairy type Elvira. The Clefable to her Gengar, if I may.

unlabelledView post →Every time I watch "Nine to Five" (1980) one key point made twice in the movie is that "discussing and comparing salaries is a no-no," one employee being fired for it because the office snitch overheard her talking about it in the bathroom. It was illegal for them to do so, but how do you fight it?

unlabelledView post →"(...)A great comedy with strong central performances from Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in particular, a funny screenplay and a great deal of satisfaction to see the bastard boss man get what he deserves. #MovieSky #FilmSky #NineToFive #Letterbxd #Review
unlabelledView post →I watched Nine to Five last night. Now there’s a movie that couldn’t get made today, at least not as an A-list production with top stars and no romantic interests. Way more left wing than I’d expected. Came out the same month as the Clash’s Sandinista! so there must’ve been something in the air
unlabelledView post →Watched the Nine to Five (1980) DVD commentary this morning during my workout and it brought me so much joy listening to Dolly, Jane, Lily, and producer Bruce Gilbert just watching the movie together and chatting about it. Highly recommend. 🎬🖤
unlabelledView post →Wife and I watched Nine to Five and it’s wild what a progressive / corpse stealing movie it was and 46 years later jobs have only gotten worse in most respects.
unlabelledView post →A great feminist classic and amazingly funny. Also, Dolly's song Nine to Five won the Oscar for Best song in a movie. It got lots of play on rock stations.

unlabelledView post →just did a rewatch of the wonderful movie "Nine to Five." Comedy genius by the writer and director Colin Higgins (who died of AIDS a few years after the movie premiered) to purposely incorporate her country-western celebrity status into the Dora Lee character, Dolly's very first film appearance.
unlabelledView post →Oh and the film "Nine to Five" is still very relevant. Some changes the women in the film make, would still be seem as radical in some offices today #filmsky #DollyParton boxd.it/aLitmJ

The denouement shows a future predicting smartness that surprised me--because I sure do remember what offices were like in 1980. I purchased it from Apple+, as it was only $1 more than renting it. 📽️ #FilmSky

unlabelledView post →Oddly, the 1980 film NINE TO FIVE came up 3 times last week, so I watched it. Good film—highlights workplace sexism/harassment with humor, but looking back, it’s wild how serious abuses—assault, exploitation, etc—were played for laughs. A reminder of how far we’ve come and still need to go.
