60 of 192 · most liked first**EDIT August 2025: This game was NOT in "early access" when I reviewed it. It was released in full. This was a later change by the game devs in an attempt to mitigate whatever negative reviews they received because of what they put out. Keep this in mind.** A great game held back by being abandoned by yet another a sh*tty Chinese company. The game itself is a lot of fun, and I'd highly recommend playing it if you can get it for cheap through somewhere like Fanatical, but definitely don't pay…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not leaving a bad review here because I am enjoying the game but just curious as to why do so many compare this too hades like it was the first to be an Action top down Roguelike? Many other would be like - Curse of the Dead Gods - DarksBurg - Full Mojo Rampage - Hero Siege - Lost Castle - Wizard of Legend - Blught Bound I think Hades itself just got more exposure than alot of these games listed which is fine and makes sense. Also hades is a very good game, just don't know why that's the go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are basically two reasons to buy Nigate Tale at this stage in development: 1) You've already exhausted every last bit of content from Hades (or [insert your favorite more-polished action roguelite]) and want more. 2) You love monster girls so much you're willing to put up with a fair bit of jank to see a few static, non-animated images of them (which are admittedly very high quality). The bones of a good game are here, because the combat itself feels pretty tight, which is probably the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is fine but it has a memory leak (meaning the more you play it the more it will lag) until that is fixed dont buy it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a solid foundation, but it’s ruined by a series of frustrating designs that alienate players. I strongly suggest NOT purchasing this game until significant improvements are made. Although the game has moved out of Early Access and released its official version, the developers claimed that "to fix the data bug, we had to overhaul the entire database structure, which means old save files are no longer compatible." Is it really that hard to write a script to transfer the old save…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a great game but it's just been left to rot with lots of bugs and broken achievements that don't work. devs moved on to other projects to leave this to collect dust. last update was November 2024...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I couldn't get past the poor translations and unnecessarily large spacing after every apostrophe. The in game narration is in Chinese which I've never been a fan of. I only go to the crafting tutorial before calling it quits. I see reviews say the game play is decent, but the poor translation kills it for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love the game I have been playing it since it was in test version and have seen the growth and changes of the game over the time. My current playtime on record is far below the actuall one since i played it a lot offline aswell as on the test version which isnt included in the record and should be overall 80 hours of playtime at the point of writing the review. So lets start by who would like the game? If you like roguelike games, anime monster waifus, slashing enemys and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming game with needed optimization improvements. I agree with the B+ rating from another user. 7.8/10 Gameplay: - I'd say one has to play a few roguelikes to get into this game, the interface & UI could be more optimized and responsive, it could cause newer players to not gravitate to this because of that. But the builds sure have their variety and unique charm to it, for example if I want to play a ranged only build, it is possible, or if I want to lean into more melee, there are options…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is abandoned. Last update was January 2022 and radio silence from dev since April 2022. But they're happy to put the game in sales and events to keep getting revenue. Nigate Tale started and still is a clear attempt to make their own Hades. It's clear in almost every aspect of the game, from a "pantheon" of characters giving you blessings, similar feel to combat style, dungeon layout with rooms that give specific rewards known when you choose the path, central hub area where you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what i played was pretty neat but it seems to unfinished and abandoned
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah don’t bother with this. It’s a buggy, broken mess. It takes over two minutes to boot into the main menu on my steam deck and over a minute on desktop. There’s a ton of text that is just in Chinese and not translated, and the text that is translated doesn’t even fit into the UI or text boxes properly. Ton of grammatical and typographical errors too. It’s a shame because the gameplay is somewhat serviceable, but everything else is so jank. And seeing how it appears to be abandoned, there’s…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Hades ripoff with anime monster girls top-down hack and slash roguelike gone wrong and here's why: First off, this game is quite unique and it's beautiful in a lot of aspects, but all of that is tarnished by a lot of its flaws. The Pros: * Good graphics with beautiful environments and amazing designs on most models. * Gameplay is straightforward, you hack and slash your way through enemies and stages to gather resources to upgrade your weapons, skills, and allies which are the monster girls…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like everyone else says, this is Hades clone with monster girl waifus. It's okay game, given that it's copying one of the best roguelike hack and slash game. But I faced an issue on approaching what seemed like a final boss. My computer almost blown up due to some error--even setting resolution / frame rate low didn't help. Also, a lot of missing translation, awful UI placements, buggy bosses (70% of health gone for some reason?), etc. If this game was polished, I'd recommend it but this game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, but full of glitches and impossible achievements... It's a pity, but i can't recommend it at the moment. Hopefully they fix it someday...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - A "Hades"-like game. - Multiple weapons, each with different variations and the ability to improve them. - Multiple "boon"-granting characters that you can have conversations with, give gifts, improve your relationship with to grant additional boons, and customize bonuses. - Character progression with bonuses and abilities to unlock. - In-run bonuses that modify how your weapon attacks work, in addition to the boons. - Multiple bosses that feel like they have some personality in their…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even though it has officially released, it is far from being a finished game. - too many bugs (like a whole weapon being non-functional, or a boss glitching out and becoming unkillable) - a horrible translation (sometimes I have trouble understanding what the characters are actually bickering about) - effect overload/visual clutter (I can't see what's happening on the screen because there's soo much stuff going on, my own effects included - like the boss boons) - questionable design decisions…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would be ok as a poor man's Hades - but it has so many ridiculous glaring bugs that I wouldn't even call it a finished game. I'm talking about things like text not fitting in the boxes, to the point where it's impossible to read the actual stat numbers, or game NOT applying the actual difficulty you selected for the run, or unlockable items just deciding to stop dropping anymore for no reason, or getting stuck in a dialog and having to just kill the game externally. Trying out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chinese Hades with waifus, UI/UX glut, and horrible/missing translations. It's fun enough, but it's been abandoned. No updates in over a year and no response from devs through Discord or Twitter. That'd be annoying, but ultimately okay in a finished game, but for a game in Early Access, that's a deal breaker. Don't buy unless you're starved for Hades-esque roguelite, have already played the other good ones (Ember Knights, Warm Snow, etc.), and are okay with 10% missing localization, 70% bad…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, nice art, but fps drop quite alot whenever you going deeper of the run Overall : B+ Game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do I recommend the game? Absolutely not. It's a bug riddled mess stuck in early access without any fixes in sight. The translation is spotty, the achievements won't count (good luck resetting your save multiple times) and the story for how little there is doesn't even make sense. Don't get lured by the fake booba and spend your money elsewhere!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: responsive controls Cons: Chinglish, bugs, lack of balance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game appeared to be getting some regular updates and balancing for a while but has been abandoned and so I must give this as big of a Not-Recommended as I can. So unfortunate.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The hand-drawn monster girls are fantastic and I like the idea of using gifts to build up social reputations with them but this is otherwise a Hades clone that is inferior in every other way. The combat is tight but the 3D assets are low quality and the game is always running at 100% GPU utilization on a Radeon RX 7600 XT on Windows 11 and it was very distracting, much more demanding games use much fewer resources. The translation was also of middle to low quality where the text would often…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hades-style roguelike, that is bugged, poorly balanced and honestly speaking - just boring. Even pretty monster girls are not helping. Also translation is kinda janky. Buy it only if you super die-hard fan of this genre. And with reasonable discount, of course.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunded after about 25 minutes. The core gameplay is okay but nothing special. The game feel is not great, even with a controller. The story is okay, but has 0 setup and the pacing seems a little off, with poor translation. Overall in the current state it's in I feel like it's just mid coomer bait.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steam deck performance has issues. The game will run great at the start being almost 80fps with epic and 900p. But once you get far on a level the fps slowly starts to tank. Changing settings won't help at all even dropping to 720p and low. By the end of the first map it will be like 18fps. And even returning to home base the game will still be at super low 15-18fps only restarting the game fixes this. Game is still fun but makes it almost unplayable without rebooting after each run if you make…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is barely translated, features such as upgrading weapons are simply broken, the tutorials often don't make sense. If you can get this game on a massive sale or free, it's not terrible, but there are definitely better titles out there in the genre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wooooooooooooo i beaten it game is super fun and cute and you can get a broken run easily gameplay wise, it is super fun story wise..... welp the translation... it is terribly translated, i skipped 90% of the story anime girl go brrrrr
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(WARNING: Review Score isn't entirely accurate. It's a decent game, if you like Hack'n'Slash Roguelikes) How to evaluate this... like, I've wanted to try this for the longest, see if it was decent. Artwork looks nice, environments are colorful, and I like Roguelikes too. Problem is, it's not my specific cup of tea for a few reasons, and for that, I'm requesting a refund. High Points: +Colorful Environments and Artwork +Frenetic battle system +Very in-depth Progression System Tripping…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With how the translations are, and the explanations of skills being so badly written, I'm surprised this game at least is quite visually entertaining. But a short review - the game looks pretty, the dialogue is poor, and the waifus are decent. You don't get much than their still images, but you're gonna be frustrated at how everything just feels janky. It just feels slow, and I just got so bored of it all. Balance is definitely needed, as sometimes I get a strong build RANDOMLY, and a weak…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tldr: Decent game but riddled with performance and pacing issues. The game was really fun before but lacked content. Well, they added content... along with questionable changes to gameplay. It's still fun, just less so. The gameplay loop feels sluggish and uninteresting; there's no tempo to the fighting. It's just mindless button mashing (enemies stagger for far too long). The game was difficult before because enemies were responsive. That was a good thing however as it created a satisfying…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hades, but with anime monster girls
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is alright, it plays like an anime inspired Hades and shares the same issues as most Hades' clones: gameplay is a little clunky, balance is off and the story is nothing to care about. Sort of expected for the price and idea. Would have recommended this game if it wasn't for the myriad of bugs which severely affect the enjoyment and aren't going to be resolved, as development for this game was taken over by the publisher, who are no longer allocating time for this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This aint it. They seemed to make runs a lot easier, With new save file, it took 3 runs to beat normal mode. died twice at boss one. had no upgrades and had 3 revives by the end of my 3rd run (spin to win hammer is OP). End boss still laggy and honestly dont know the mechanics since the build made her a bit trivial. Art is still good, although im not 100% sure cutscenes or screenshots (IDK or care what they are called in game) are needed and look like PS2 era graphics. Cute Waifu's but bland…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →buggy and abandoned game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At its core, it very much embodies 'Hades meets JRPG and Monster Girls.' Honestly, that sounds great and fun, As of right now, though... I can't say I recommend the game. Its very rough. Much of the content is untranslated and what is, is riddled with issues. The dialogue and many of the explanations are either unintelligible, or clunky and awkward. This is particularly problematic when going to do things like explore the upgrade systems, picking them, or selecting benefits in your runs…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PROS: -Huge titty waifus -weeb clone of hades -easy to get into CONS: -text bubbles dont fit the text
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The optimization is not good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unskippable cutscenes, dialogues, and tutorials should no longer be a thing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of all the games ever made, this is definitely one of them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unbalanced with the first boss being the hardest. Most enemies your only option is ranged because they're impossible to melee without taking damage. But the deal breaker is the bugs. To play for nearly an hour then beat a boss and be unable to move cuz you're stuck in his body and have to quit the run kills any desire to try again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ui is still not great. Lots of translations not done. Plus the game is abandoned at this point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Hades clone, gods replaced with anime waifus
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried Starlight Revolver and man for a game that lauds itself as "like Hades" it feels really bad to actually play. Like, I also played a jank ass roguelike that was apeing off Hades (Nigate Tale) and that felt genuinely better to play.
unlabelledView post →This game is fun and i do enjoy it but for the love of god can you please update the journal to include a list of the blessings. Because i cant remember all of them and theres also no Wiki ill accept a wiki of it even in the native language i can MTL. That is all i want.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game, the combat is pretty good and it plays well. But its so so unfinished - it's hit or miss if the weapon upgrade system works, the translation is not good and not complete, and there's a little story that just seems to vanish. Hopefully it'll get finished but its been so long in early access I just don't see it happening
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A flat storied Hades-like roguelike. Very poorly translated/ported to English. Easy to finish a basic playthrough, and not compelling enough to do a second playthrough on a harder difficulty
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MOOOOMMMM! Can we get Hades? We have Hades at home. Hades at home. Jokes aside, the game seems neat. Slightly easier than Hades, but that might have more to do with the dozens of hours I spent practicing there before starting here. Waifu's are nice and actually have the smallest bit of depth, which is a nice change of pace for games like this (besides Hades, of course). I look forward to finishing it eventually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't a perfect game... or even a great game lol. But let's face it... that isn't why you are looking at it. It's a roguelite in Hades fashion. In that sense, the combat isn't too bad honestly. You get multiple different weapons with various upgrade aspects you can try out. You get potential assistance from a variety of monster girls who also are the ones providing your blessings (think of them as the Gods of Olympus from Hades). The typical combat rooms aren't too hard in general,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got $20 of fun out of this easily. Translation is a little rough, music can be repetitive if you don't like that, but I really enjoy what they did. It's never going to have the polish of something like Hades. The bosses are a little all or nothing, by that I mean you either stomp them or get stomped based on your build, but bosses are few and far between. I recommend it! If you're not sure, wait for a sale but I think the asking price is fair.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They launched this game unfinished. It doesn't even support resolutions higher than 1080p. So at this time, I can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is cheap right now. It is fairly easy might be fun for a bit but it is overall a pass even at 6.99. It is definitely not finished and lacks variety.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game, work the sales price for $7 no question. 1.0 release is real buggy though, but can deal with it. Beat the first level difficulty in 2 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very rough around the edges. I'm about 20 minutes in and have seen multiple issues. Several of the UI buttons have text or icons that don't properly fit inside. There is a giant space after every apostrophe in the dialogue. Much of that dialogue is poorly translated. I encountered one NPC whose dialogue wasn't translated at all. I could buy something from him for a certain amount of coins, but couldn't understand what he was selling. On the positive side, I will say that the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable game, it's Hades with big tiddy anime girls instead of homoerotic incest softboys and sadboy "emotional" plot which is a huge plus. Coming from China usually means no wokeness in exchange for questionable quality, which this absolutely delivers on. There are a lot of gameplay changes that make it (in my opinion) superior to Hades in that sector, such as customizing individual abilities and choosing a small handful of girls to support you during your runs rather than being entirely…
