MudRunner (formerly Spintires: MudRunner) is a 2017 off-roading simulation game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. It was released on October 31, 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and is a spin-off/sequel of the 2014 Windows-exclusive Spintires, which was developed by Oovee Game Studios. Similar to Spintires, MudRunner has the player control off-road… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

I’m trying to blast through this game this weekend. Pray for me

Same folks as Art Of Rally (obvious from the graphics) but I actually think the aesthetic and third-person camera view suit a slow-paced 4x4 game better. Sort of like a non-frustrating Spintires/Mudrunner. Multiplayer will be fun I think.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →better than snowrunner. more of a pure driving experience without all the meta progressions and quests/tasks of snowrunner. i prefer it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mudrunner: 1.38 GB, more maps, better physics, truck can beat mud, gives a lot of freedom when starting mission Snowrunner: 67.76 GB, less maps (non-DLC), worse physics, truck can get stuck in a puddle, not even 50% of the game is snow (title bait), spent 70% of the time restarting a mission (had to cheese getting an OP tank), forces you to suffer before getting to the "good part" of the game I heard there was a saying that you will love one of these games and hate the other. I can confirm,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →waaaaayyyyyy better than snowrunner, cuz it isnt 64 gigabytes and still is very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible. So serene, relaxing pure. My first mud driving game. Even though it is far smaller than snowrunner I do sincerely believe it to be superior. Better physics, no upgrades for trucks is actually making the game better. There is no focus on optimizing and upgrading. You are just...chilling somewhere...nowhere in deep Russia, carrying logs. So fun, great game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mudrunner is the ultimate off-road game, and it is far superior to all of it's successors such as snowrunner. Positives + One of the big things is that the audio in Mudrunner is great, the engines actually sound alive. + The vehicle physics (suspension and transmissions with torque) are probably some of the best representations of heavy machinery in off road conditions. + Mud physics are surprisingly interesting and each run can be very entertaining. + The game has solid COOP support, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was the first off road game I played where you could get a vehicle completely stuck and impossible to recover, It's challenging and can be quite frustrating. On one trail I spent 2 weeks trying to get one truck out but I gave up, now it is out in the wilderness rotting away.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest, I think this is more of a step backward compared to the original Spintires. There are a few features that were included in the original game but are missing here for some reason, and the physics simulation feels quite strange as well. In the original game, every vehicle behaved realistically, whereas here it feels like each vehicle has its own separate physics. Some trucks perform unrealistically well off-road, while others are unnecessarily worse. On top of that, I much…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite its age showing a little in limited content compared to SnowRunner and similar, MudRunner is still one of the best casual truck off-roading games and has some features that are in some cases better than SnowRunner, not least feeling more true to life in the driving. If you want better graphics (MudRunner is good but SnowRunner is decidedly beautiful) lots of variety and features, choose SnowRunner instead, and if you want more challenges but less off-roading, choose RoadCraft.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ain't gonna lie, that's the one of the best off-road games I have ever played. It just looks good, plays good, sounds good. The only downside is that there aren't many challenges and maps to play on once you completed everything, except downloading mods. I highly recommend this game for those who like planning routes and driving slowly while also battling through the MUD along the way. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very relaxing game about driving old soviet trucks through forests, rivers and all types of wilderness. Core gameplay usually revolves around moving a cargo from point A to B and how you get about it is up to you. Patience and thinking ahead is crucial, you have to drive carefully if you don’t want to get stuck in mud, flip the truck or be taken by the river current. I recommend all DLC’s for this game as they’re all great and offer a lot of new content. There’s also Steam Workshop with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who played Mudrunner when it originally came out and went "this is a fun silly game" and never touched it again. I am ASTOUNDED that SnowRunner has gone as long as it has and gotten as much DLC as it has. Its really got the eurotrucksim guts behind its gameplay loop and thats valid

After playing this I finally understand why people like this masterpiece so much, the attention to detail, the physics, the mud, all of it is in some ways better than Snowrunner. I'm not saying that Snowrunner is bad, but considering that Snowrunner is the third game in the series and didn't carry over some of the best features its older brother Mudrunner is kinda wild. For starters in Mudrunners truck frames can bend and the suspension…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not reward Saber with your money. I am completely against Sabers use (possibly undisclosed at that) of ai and their CEOs incredibly disrespectful comments regarding the ex lead writer of one of their games. Keep ai and keep awful CEOs out of gaming.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am entirely shocked at 3 things with this game: 1. How good it looks graphically concidering the tiny file size 2. How well it runs on any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC 3. How easy it is to turn it into a great rally sim If you like a bit of mindless driving around a pretty map, pick this game up, it's cheap, small and looks plus feels great. You can install it in 2 mins, play it for a few and uninstall it again. The mod support is great too. If you don't care for trucks and tractors, you can just get sedans…

Where in those games, however, you upgrade your vehicles to surmount ever-worseRoadcraftning roads, here you improve roads to allow for the passage of ever more expensive trucks. It's great fun! Big Recommend for those who Mudrun.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only, kinda yes. =TL:DR= OK'ish game with fun sandbox, but quickly gets boring. 1. i give it 6.5-7/10. It has what it takes to be awesome game, but there is not enough to be done with its mechanics, which are physics BASED and NOT simulation. 2. Ground effect is awesome at first, but quickly gets annoying when 95% of maps are 1m deep mud trenches. unfortunately out planet is not 95% 1m deep, wet mud and trucks are actually much better at dealing with it than within game. its really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes you want quiet gameplay without a complicated story. I really enjoy offroad sims like #SnowRunner, and now Expeditions: A #MudRunner game. There's something relaxing about the slow drive through obstacles, getting out of a jam with a winch, exploring the wilderness, and completing tasks.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the mud physics, and i think the game is good for exploration however you go at a slow pace. But the slowness of this game makes it even more better in my opinion! I also recommend Snow Runner as it has way more to explore!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had different expectations, Sadly I'm disappointed... From the handling, the pace of the game and the overall content in general. You mainly move in the speed of smell, you are stuck constantly, game barely teaches you what to do, you barely have anything to do. It feels very bare bones and empty.

unlabelledView post →I bought MudRunner about 6 years ago, and I currently have over 200 hours in the game. What's funny is that when I first started playing, I honestly found it quite boring. Back then, I didn't really understand the appeal of driving for a long time just to deliver a few logs. I would look at some of the longer routes and think: "Why would I want to spend so much time driving through mud when I could be doing something else?" I didn't have the patience for it, and long journeys felt more like a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's slow, punishing, and sometimes frustrating when your massive truck gets swallowed by the dirt, but that's exactly why it's so fun. The level of detail on the terrain deformation is amazing. Worth every penny if you like a good off-road challenge.
