Minit is a 2018 action-adventure video game developed by Jan Willem Nijman, Kitty Calis, Jukio Kallio, and Dominik Johann and published by Devolver Digital. It was released on April 3, 2018, for Windows, macOS, Linux, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. A port to the Nintendo Switch was released later in 2018, followed versions for Android and iOS in 2019. Some engines are very much set up for Bigger Badder Specs™ as a default and takes a lot of hoops for it to be even remotely optmized even if you have graphics like Downwell or Minit. There's a lot of default bloat in some of the popular indie game engines is what I'm saying.

Minit is an adventure game where you play a Tamagotchi-looking character with Tamagotchi-looking NPCs, explore the world and get as much as you can done before the 60-timer ends. It starts once you pick up the first item, the sword. The rest of the gameplay is similar to that of the original Legend of Zelda game, as a top-down scroller with an extreme version of the Majora's Mask timer set-in. Despite the constant restart after the timer ends, the NPCS will remember you and your progress from…

I found this game while randomly scrolling through the store one day, and I couldn't have been more impressed with it. The concept is so simple - you have 60 seconds every day to get things done - but the amount of unique ways they're able to utilise that mechanic made it one of my favourite indie games of all time. At first 60 seconds will seem insane. How much can you get done in that time? But the game's progression is twofold: You'll naturally learn quicker routes through the world to get…

Minit is a classic Zelda inspired puzzle game that dares to ask the question, "What if you died every minute?". The answer is it would be annoying. Playing Minit is quite simply, tedious. Minit will have you attempt to explore an empty colorless field for even a single thread of information regarding what you should even be TRYING to do, just to forcibly respawn your character and make you spend 20 of your 60 seconds left living, walking back to your desired portion of the map and continuing…

This game is creative and has an innovative premise: you always die after 60 seconds. In the beginning, it flows really well, since you have few choices and almost all are blocked, so, you get an item/ability and open a new path, a shortcut, new possibilities, feels nice. However, at the middle of the game I felt a little bit tired. There are a lot of possible paths, and you start to waste a lot of time exploring with poor rewards. I wish that the game reward the player with more speed quality…

Should be an easy fix for the dev to just put a fresh save file into the files under a different name as an update, and then on startup check if the actual save file exists, if not, load the fail-safe, and then save the file as the proper name, just need to edit the load scripts in the error. ...Or just check if it exists and then if not populate one. This was a pretty fun and novel idea for a game I hadn't encountered before. The 60/50 second life span kept it interesting and made you really think about what you were doing/going to do each life before you had to respawn. Frustrating at first as I had no real idea of what to do or what I was doing/ how any of it worked, but once you die a few times and get the hang of it you start to play more strategically. Nice option of a second 'harder' run once completing the game for the first time…

A really fun, novel idea executed superbly. The 60 second life span keeps things moving at a frantic pace and it created a nice balance of sometimes figuring out puzzles on the fly with one second to spare, while other times doing multiple runs, piecing the solution together bit by bit to fit the bigger picture. The art style and quirky characters are a vibe that suits the game perfectly and when you put all this together, you have a fantastic little indie experience that's definitely worth…

I loved everything of this game. Really original idea the feature of dying every 60 seconds, it really gives you a challenge. You'll probably be confused during the first few lives of your first gameplay because you don't know where to go or what to do but when yoh get the hang of it, it becomes a really interesting and strategic game because you have to plan what to do in that little space of time. The story behind the game is pretty simple but I love the characters and the music is peak.
