Might & Magic® Heroes® VII
Developer Limbic Entertainment
Might & Magic Heroes VII is a 2015 turn-based strategy game in the Heroes of Might and Magic series. Like the other games in the series, players control leaders with magical abilities termed as "heroes", who recruit a variety of forces from strongholds. The heroes and their armies battle the opponents, who also use heroes to lead their forces. It features a campaign series of levels, standalone and multiplayer… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

60 of 176 · most liked firstI’d genuinely recommend this game if one of its core features actually worked — you know, like LAN or online co-op, the thing many of us bought it for. But even with community patches, the game consistently crashes after 1.5–2 months of in-game time. According to modders, it’s been a known issue since launch — and worse, it’s unfixable without source-level access. In other words: the devs broke it, left it broken, and never came back. And that leads us to the real culprit: Ubisoft — the master…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you purchase this game in 2025 even on deep discount for $7 you are a fool. It is abandonware. Networking & multiplayer absolutely never worked correctly EVER and like others have noted it crashes, doesn't load, forces you to use the Ubisoft launcher which wreaks havoc on your system. Most of my play hours are from years ago, but every year or two I come back to load it up to see if they have fixed it seeing as they still sell it and the answer is a RESOUNDING NOPE.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft destroying my once upon a time favourite IP by making games unplayable due to their useless launcher. Can't even start the game, utter garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey, How would you like it if you prefered Steam because you dispise developers that force you to have to own their everything to play their slot machine oriented games? Well they sell their games to Steam also. Ubisoft launcher manditory. No thanks, ide rather not play the game I paid for and leave a bad review about Ubisoft.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow. Game requires ubisoft garbage launcher and an online connection to play... a single player game. Figured I would try it out on the new pc, just took me an hour to figure out that if you want the game to open when you launch it, you have to... get this, disable your internet connection, otherwise its just an epilepsy warning followed by a black screen that goes nowhere. So online requirement is mandatory but you cannot load the game if connected to the internet. I think that sums up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not understand why this game is available here. It does not launch. As game was bought on sale some time ago I am unable to return so wasted money. Do not make same mistake as me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Impossible to get it to run, thanks to Ubisoft, worst gaming company in the history of mankind
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🏰 Might & Magic Heroes VII I finally got around to playing Heroes VII, and my impressions are… mixed. The game is not bad, but it’s also not great or iconic. It’s not the kind of entry you want to return to years later. I’ve played almost the entire Heroes series, so comparisons with previous installments are inevitable. Heroes VII feels like a game that tried, but ultimately failed to find its own identity. 📜 Story and Lore One of the game’s stronger points is the story. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is broken and does not launch. Ubisoft too busy doing nothing to fix it. The game literally can not launch and crashes immediately.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a disgusting secret: It requires a connection to Ubisoft cloud. As such, you will be unable to even launch the game. So do NOT buy it, it's bricked abandonware.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those having issues launching the game. What worked for me is having both the steam app and the ubisoft connect app open, cut your internet off on your pc, put it back on and then launch from the ubisoft app. I wish i saw that they were involved prior to my purchase. I will celebrate the day this ♥♥♥♥ company goes under and frees the gaming community from their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The black sheep of the HOMM series I tried liking this game since it came out back in 2015, and, not gonna lie, each time I'd give it a try, I just hated it. I’m a huge fan of the Heroes of Might & Magic series as a whole, and this just felt like a cheap and low-effort entry in the series. Not to mention that it was plagued by technical difficulties and bugs that to this day aren’t fixed. But, you know what? I gave it another try recently and I actually do enjoy the game now. I don’t know if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable. It forces you to the Ubisoft whatever launcher where you are met with endless Capchas and never get access to the game. UBI-SCAM!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's 2025. Tried many times. The game won't launch on Windows 11 anymore. Don't buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is... a very controversial game. I've played all the Heroes games, and I, probably, wouldn't recommend this one to anyone, even though I had my fun. I played mostly out of curiosity. It was fascinating to explore this part of the series. Played on Windows 11, with Unofficial Community Patch. No issues there. Towns: There are 7 different factions in the game, and every town image looks like a crappy jpg. They're completely unattractive to look at. The building layout is also poor. Towns…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft should choke on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ and die! I don't understand how they can ♥♥♥♥ so much stuff up. Even their launcher is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Constant nonsence with Ubisoft connect and hell no why required constant internet connection for singleplayer. Garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →trying to run the game takes over few hours, then you realise it's not game fault but ubisoft connect/app which you wanted to avoid by buying game on steam; so if you go offline, game will work because ubi app will not messs your game anymore. sadly game overall looks like downgrade towards heroes V, no iferno castle is a joke, game is so hard to read, even town screens or recruit screens
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Might & Magic® Heroes® V is better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You need to log in to U-Play, I forgot my login, ubisoft won't let me change my password so it's unplayable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not waste your time as other reviews mention, it does not work and Ubisoft does not care to fix it, amazed to see this is still listed in their discounts page, pretending it works. All the issues are related to their launcher, game doesnt even have the online aspect any longer, so why does it needs to be connected to them... insane
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has got to be the worst example of this franchise Ive seen yet. From self-deleting keybindings you have to physically set the file to read only to maintain to camera angles blocking view and extended cinematic camera work/animations that sky rocket battle lengths its just bad. Even without the Ubisoft taint its just horrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't personally understand the whole drama around this game (besides the Ubislop connect requirement). I find this to be the best HOMM from the whole series, HOMM3 was amazing on i'ts time, HOMM4 tried to invent the formula but missed it, HOMM 5/6 were terrible, but HOMM7 is everything HOMM 3 was but improved. So with that said, the only huge CON I can find and point at is: requires ubislop app. Side note: get the community update to fix the leftover bugs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPLAY IS A PIECE OF ♥♥♥♥
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My daughter and I have spent countless hours (over 500) playing this game together, exploring the different factions and bonding together over the nuanced facets of this game. Having played both Heroes V and VI and having enjoyed them both, I believe Heroes VII is the best iteration. Although the game is heavily balanced to favor the magic heroes it is easy enough to anticipate this and to choose and play mostly with a magic based hero. I really can't say enough about this game. It is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Friggen ubisoft what a pain to luanch the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is no real easy option for this game. Some campaigns are too difficult for me on easy level. I do not want to spend hours to go through the mission. If you cannot finish campaign on the easy level, that might be something wrong with the game. I love heroes III, IV and V. I enjoy them a lot. Heroes VII I played for many hours. This game is terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy. 130 Hours and it just stopped working. Game always crashes before getting to main menu. Tried everything. Love this game and franchise but ubisoft. Done with it. Buy a game and it just stops allowing you to play...Ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not launching. And is not my problem that I am on Windows 11, it is developers problems they did not adapt the game for windows 11. No one is using win 7 or 8 anymore because it is not safe
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yikes. I was huge fan of Heroes 4 and 5, but didn't have a chance to pick this up until it was out for decade. I was hoping to relive some of the old fun, but it would have been better to try heroes 5 again instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unable to even play the game, refund denied. Thanks ubisoft
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is actually ok, but it's let down by two things: 1. Ubisoft Connect is absolutely rubbish. Most of time time at startup, it refuses to connect to the Ubisoft server, which is needed to launch the game. You have to keep on trying to relaunch until it finally connects. 2. There's a bug in the Necro campaign where you random just get the "Defeated" screen, and you can't progress any further. There's not fix. Launching it from an earlier save doesn't help. Super frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game goes to start up and then...nothing. just a black screen. when I try to back out it tells me the games isn"t responding. boo
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why this is still allowed to be sold is beyond me. It doesn't start. Not without extremely annoying workarounds, which apparently is to unplug the internet, start the game until being past the intro and then plugging the internet in again amongst other stupid stuff. C'mon Ubisoft, you can do better! It doesn't even work, none of the workarounds worked for me for that matter. I also ain't fiddling in my BIOS - are you out of your mind? No, no. Here's what I did to fix the game: Get a key for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy as hell. Not worth the money even on sale

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →seems broken now
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wont launch, just a black screen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely a massive L, Gave it a try, Wanted to see what the game is like, Going back to HOMM V and HOMM 3. refunded this monstrosity of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can so easily, and multiple times per game, get soft-locked and cannot continue further; hope you saved recently! I used to play this as a kid (M&M III) with my cousins and siblings, we would hotseat and play against each other, battles would be like 20 - 30 minutes long with each other, if not hour or so, once our full armies met. I still have fun playing this game, but the mechanics literally soft-lock you. It has gotten annoying enough to the point I am typing out this review. If that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as good as the 3rd and the 5th but it's nice regardless
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR If you came from HOMM2 or HOMM3, this ain't it. Play this game if for some reason you already own it and you just want the novelty. Pros: Some actually good ideas (tho I don't know if these were Heroes IV-VI). I'm coming form II/III. Adventure once/day is fun. The Necro campaign had you with fire mastery w/ very weak units, but you could clear out very powerful enemies with the Fire Adventure spell. That was neat. Some units are cool: The centuar archers being able to move then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a lame videogame on both aesthetics and narrative. The opening cinematic, using generic epic music (Defenders from the Earth, a classic). Generic dialogues of the sort "War is coming". The narrative concept of a council of elders who taught of "stories" (aka the campaigns) is a major hype-killer. Whereas alongside all the franchise campaigns were a product of a live story here they are just excuses for an advisor.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good ideas trapped in a messy package Might & Magic Heroes Seven feels like a game that really wants to be a worthy successor, but never quite gets there. On paper there is a lot to like: varied factions with distinct identities, a flexible skill system that allows for different builds, and some maps and campaigns that capture that familiar exploration and snowball feeling the series is known for. When it clicks, you get that old “one more turn” pull and it can be genuinely fun. The problems…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can start it on window 10 pro, freezes on intro screen with text
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So... Many... Bugs... But most are not game breaking. The cool story and fun dynamic in the hero abilities made it so I wanted to fully complete the story without any major issue. If you play it for the story, it can be pretty forgiving if something wrong happens. I'd recommend it! Just be ready to accept that bugs will happen and try to not let it bug you :p
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In the meantime of waiting for Olden Era i need to say its not that bad of HoMM title for quicky HoMM gaming mood fulfillment. I remembered it in worst and bugged state then it is. I like the game loop due to units polishment state in 7 and i enjoy the sandbox experience. Additionally this is the newest "official" HoMM game and you can also look for 7.5 community mod that improves the experience even more. Playable HoMM and true of words "Not great, not terrible".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's another Might and Magic Heroes. For me it's enjoyable. the only downside is that we have to do workaround to be able to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the ingame grphics is really sloppy and ive tried things and wont fix
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but this game brings back memories from the best times of my life…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its been one of my favorite games to play when I want to just chill, listen to some music, and play a casual game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last addition to HoM&M series before the long hiatus until Olden Era release earlier this year. It's not a terrible game and frankly campaigns are quite easy to go through (albeit time consuming) however if you're thinking you're going to buy this game to get in the mood before trying out Olden Era - then think again! It is practicaly impossible to play this game. The game freezes on startup before the intro plays and despite all possible fixes I was able to look up online, it did not fix…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game, very under rated. The artwork and music are fantastic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly don't get the mixed reviews for this one, but then i've never met any of the bugs or problems others claim to have either. It's quite addictive, as with pretty much any heroes of might and magic game. Easily worth the money if you like the gameplay because these campaigns and content give you many hours of enjoyment. Played through two campaigns so far at the point of review, and I really have nothing bad to say about them; I had good fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% garbage, can't even play because of glitches. FIX YOUR GAME THAT I PAID FOR!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wish I could refund this, it isn't playable and just freezes.
