positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very interesting strategy game with a grand focus on history - Change it or re-live it is up to you. Tons of units, plenty of factions, incredible detail, and challenging AI. Graphically there's not a lot going on but it's easy to get lost in the depth of the game itself and forget about that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One word... AMAZING! This game is highly underated. It has a built in level editor, 5 senarios plus hundreds on the workshop, Intellegent AI, And huge replayablity! People will compare this to hearts of iron even though they arn't very similar. MH2 is a turn based stratiegy game where you run your nation and try to win thr gamemode that you choose. As leader you have to worry about your manpower, iron, coal, races, money, cultures, religons. These are somethings that you do in this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, so this is going to be a pro/cons review, with a grade at the end. Pros: +The ability to do whatever you want! I once allied Germany with the UK against China... It was a strange play through +A realistic way of managing your nation, especially with colonies and puppets +The great community has guides to explain everything, including annexing vs colonizing +The turn base system, which usually ruins games, was done perfectly +The mods in the Steam Workshop, which are amazing (Check out…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't recommend this game, but only because there isn't a "maybe" button. First of all you can play virtually any country in existence at the time - but if you don't play one of the major powers you will probably end up getting side-swiped as you will have little ability to influence events (nor do events unfold in the slightest resemblance to history if you are playing a minor nation). The economic model is well done and interesting. It ties in well with the research model which is also…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short review Making History II: The War of the World is a complex and ambitious title that offers a depth of strategy that will appeal to hardcore fans of the genre. Its strengths lie in the rich detail of nation-building and the freedom it provides to explore various WWII strategies. The game’s sheer scale and variety make it a worthwhile investment but only for hardcore fans on the genre willing to overlook its flaws. However, technical limitations, a steep learning curve, and dated visuals…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bottom line: It's horrifically balanced. Death stacks of a few hundred infantry units will weather almost any attack with their high defence value and then happily mop up anything left of the attacking army. Focusing your economy purely on infantry will always give the most bang for your buck - delving into the game's impressive variety of units to build a mixture in each stack will never be as potent as pure infantry. Front lines don't really exist either, the AI will roll through in one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like this game quite lot, i find it easy to play and it makes me think a little about the management structure and future planning and policy of which ever nation im playing, all good stuff. but it has its glitches. one of which is, that when i am defending an area, small enemy units which, on the surface appear to be weaker than mine. will arrive suddenly and wipe out my larger defending force with its bunkers, without so much as a fight. i have experienced this time after time…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only bought it for the emoticon ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the best way to describe this is to say that it plays a lot like a Total War game minus the real time battles. That's kind of a shame, real time battles like those in Steel Battalion or even Command and Conquer would make this game a LOT more interesting (I hope the dev is listening since the series is still in development) but they non-real time battles, which are basically just stat-based contests, are at least well executed. Depending on the forces deployed, battles can be over in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can't be bothered to put even a basic tutorial in your game, I can't be bothered to play it. Life's too short. Refunded.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright so this game has its ups and downs, however i cannot recomend it. as my first reveiw let it be clear however that this game is MUCH better than the first one, however this game still has glaring flaws and well my biggest complaint the ai spaming 1 type of unit and then steam rolling you. said unit in question would be primarily early tanks. what happens is 1 enemy city only produces said unit and then when you finially ready to invade over a large front, the stack of doom precides to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the beginning of the movie "Patton" General Patton tells his soldiers that when a soldier's future grandchild asks him what he did in WWII he won't have to say he shoveled [organic fertilizer] in Louisiana. No, but in Making History II you will do that before the war. It's not a put down, it's a warning. This game begins as an econ sim. And the game's publisher also makes educational software and it shows. I am happy I bought this game but it is not for everyone. Gamers either love or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have no idea if the game is good or bad but it has some pretty cool emojis.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game: build up your economy, buy some units, and spread your ideology! The map is huge, but there are various winning conditions to cope w/ that. Is it flawless? No, pacing is very slow and AI is nothing to write home about. Nevertheless, it should keep you entertain long enough to be worth it, especially if you buy on sale. Wish I could write more, but I unfortunately wrote this review a long time after I played this game. At any rate, the series is being continued by a new developer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I may as well point you all to my review for the first "Making History" game..... http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198160495995/recommended/371190/ Making History 2 is very similar indeed. Except of course they have added some new stuff, y'know..... units, buildings, research tree items etc. They have also fixed the treasury / resources problem of the first game. In MH1 you could not, even as a superpower such as the USA, keep your various resources stocked up, and as for your treasury,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actual fart and should be avoided.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's more complicated than it's predecessor. But its controls and mechanics are not made to be more complex. Tasks that like two clicks in other grand strategy games take a dozen clicks in this. Somehow realtime grand strategy is easier than this turn based game. It's easy to figure out, but it's not fun to play. And they just keep copy & pasting their game and adding a thing here or there. It's like a mini Geopolitical Simulator.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →keeps crashing, insufficient memory just like the WW1 version absolute waste of money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →to be pervectly honest, this game is a great time waster, if your into relativly basic (in many aspects) strategies. its financial, system being the best of its features. its political system however having much to be desired. something i disliked, was its manpower system, which is a good idea and wasn't executed very badly, also left much to be desired. mainly this, for other nations being countrolled by say, the computer usually after a couple of turns for most nations, leaves them having a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is amazing. England declared indepdence from the UK Ireland declared indepdence from the UK Canada declared indepdence from the UK and formed a communist nation, complete with a hammer and sickle inside a maple leaf. Korea declared indepdence from Japan four or five times and got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up every single time I invaded all of France as the German Empire in a WW1 mod, took it in two weeks. Made Jamaica join the central powers Made Sierra Leone join the central powers Made Egypt join…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: -Fun gameplay which can last for hours on end -Good balance between simplicity and complexity -Very high moddability Cons: -Get's pretty laggy when very large scale conflicts like WW2 takes place -Random AI actions like USSR declaring war on Norway in 1936 -Alot of Micromanaging required Despite the cons, this game is definitely one of my all time favourite strategy games. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Making History II: The War of the World, developed by Muzzy Lane Software and published by Factus Games, is a grand strategy game that sets out to capture the sweeping complexity of the world between the early 1930s and the end of World War II. It is a game that invites players to assume control of any nation on the planet and guide it through an era defined by industrial growth, ideological conflict, and global warfare. At its heart lies an ambitious vision—to simulate the intricate political,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure why they stopped making these. They were amazing. Outdated, but still to this day, still amazing. The only reason I'm writing this review is because I see that I haven't left one yet, and I was coming back to see if a third one was being released anytime soon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It´s a well made WW2 Strategy-Game that let´s you play the various nations that fought in WW2. Would not recommend it to new strategy players tho. (see con´s) PRO´S : Lots of content No censoring of the swastika´s Polished AI Very high realism CON´S : Alot to take in during the first minutes of gameplay Lack of a proper Tutorial (maybe i missed it ?) Slightly confusing UI (u have to get used to it) This short review is based on my personal oppinion. I´m nowhere good at strategy…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, let me say that I've invested hundreds of hours into Making History, and its Gold Edition, both of which I love and still play from time to time. I've tried a couple of times now to get into Making History II but cannot get started. Stupid as it sounds, the cluttered & clunky UI and completely unintuitive blobs of new information just make me reach for the alt-f4 keys so I can go back to the original. I'm of the opinion that if a sequel can't be picked up and played without tutorial…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →>Open Editor >Make Siam OP >play as Siam >Take over Indonesia >declare war on China >Siam and Japan are about to win against China >Japan declares war on me >send basically my entire army to Japan >Just after I land in Japan they destroy my navy >I am now stuck on a japanese island with no boats >Japan Takes the rest of my land because I have nobody to defend it 10/10 would get destroyed by Japan again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played this game for many years. I still play it. I found that it is a game you can go back to over and over again. Word of caution, if you play at the hardest level and wish to take the entire world, it is a very long process, but challanging. Have fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like intricute games of world conquest this is the game for you. thanks to youtube for having, "how to" video's on how to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably one of the best games of all time. Do not be fooled by the poor image quality. The complexity of the game and the extent that you are allowed to Make History is incredible. One of my favorite game of all time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have many hours in a number turn based strategy games and it is by far my favourite genre. I think [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/46770/Making_History_II_The_War_of_the_World/]Making History II: The War of the World is one of the more enjoyable games of it's kind and would honestly put it in the "low graphics classics" category. You truly have the power to "make your own history" with a unique play through almost every time. I think you'd be surprised just how hard it is to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice grand strategy game where you can get to rule the world :-) OK so rather than to make a review I will summarize it a bit: Game plays as a combination of production management, and combat management. Production management has three components(and corresponding use): Industry Production - needed to expand IP further, to earn money, or to build units Manpower - to expand IP, expand resources, build units Resources - to expand IP, expand resources, build units For the resources, there are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an economic, political, diplomatic, and military simulator for World War 2, with scenarios for the different phases of the war, allowing you to play as any country, for any objective (country points, empire points, ideology points). In doing this, it is very effective. The time campaigns allow you to take on scenarios that were significant world-changing events, although they may not be too popular with WW2 historians. For example: the Spanish Civil War between Falangist…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I regretted it so much to have ever bought this game... It feels dated and stutters and offers way less than what other games do even if you need a little bit to get into it like Hearts of Iron. Basically the only good thing is that the game is rather simple and not too confusing to play which is nice but..it also is really not smooth to play sadly..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its an interesting game but after many hours it simply takes too long for turns to process. Also navigation of country items is not optimal.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great. Certainly not the best looking, or the best game, but if anything, quite nice. It has flaws that make the game MORE fun, believe it or not. For Example: 1) Played as Romania. 2) Wanted to go Communist, but was Authoritarian. 3) Gave all of my territories to the USSR. 4) Saved Game. 5) Loaded Game. 6) Switched to USSR. 7) Liberated Romania into a Communist Country. 8) Saved Game. 9) Loaded Game. 10) Switched to Communist Romania. 11) Profit. 10/10 Would give away…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a very good game i played it more than its showing right like 200 hrs so i think that i can make an a review. This is a grand strategy game where u lead ur nation at the ww 2 era.U can play as a small nation or a big super power, and u can make your own choices about allies, wars, trading, puppet states, colonies etc...I personally like mechanic about puppet states cuz u have a option to change their ideologie ps:in the previous game u didnt have that option.Editor is very good and its kinda…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy playing this game because you can customize almost everything in the game. You can play as any nation you want including your own custom made nation. You can even make you own scenarios. Please keep all comments positive and respectful?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are just too many crashes due to memory failure to play this. It's odd because it actually seems less stable now than it was a few years ago. I've turned all my settings down to bare bones, and my rig is more than adequate to play this game. I have investigated the other titles for this company and they ALL suffer from this same crash issue for the same reasons so shame on the devs for allowing this to keep happening for so long.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy strategy games, but this one is a bit dry for me. If you like complicated simulation strategy games with very basic design and graphics, you'll love this. For me personally, I gave it about 10 hours to hook me—but I ultimately found it incredibly boring. Not a bad game, just not my style. Recommended to those who like this style of game, not recommended for those of us that prefer better design and gameplay as opposed to statistics and plodding tactics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice way to kill multiple hours during a pandemic :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a pretty game.....but it gets the job done and it is still really fun and historically accurate for the most part.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 great game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an excellent improvement on the original Making History: The Calm and the Storm, and a great springboard to Making History: The Great War. A reasonable selection of start dates is offered, all of which will eventually lead to war in some form or other. However the game is simple enough for you to master quickly with patience in the early start scenarios that give you plenty of time to get to grips with the basics. It's all about balance in peace and preparing for the excesses of…
