Too many anime questions but otherwise not a bad plot device for folk getting their wishes fulfilled... or FUBARed.

I kinda enjoyed the game, but I think it's not for everyone. There are many anime questions—I mean WAY TOO MANY, even for my liking—and I watch about 15 animes each season. I think it's better for short gaming sessions as the music gets tiring after a while. As for the value, it's better to get it at a discount rather than full price. 5 out of 10

Well this was fun. A trivia game at heart (and 75% my kind of trivia) with some rollicking fables and then that old chestnut RNG at the end. I've won a 1/9 and lost an 8/9. Quality RNG. I'm glad I've played this.

Absolutely amazing - don't come in trying to get a 100% Good/Bad run at first, it's better to do everything first go around and to have a balance between the amazingly happy endings and the amazingly dark bad endings. Worth the price! (Tip: Most reviews say there is too many anime questions. You can reduce the likelihood of anime questions in the settings menu!!)

Man, I sat on this review for a few nights before writing it. If you like Trivia, and Majotori is on sale for $1-ish (like it usually is). It's probably worth it. For anyone else, or at the $5.99 price, I would stay away. The game is very short. My first playthrough took around an hour and a half, and while the premise is genuinely interesting (a narrative adventure where story outcomes are influenced by your performance in a trivia game) the novelty wears off fairly quickly. Majotori is…

This game I found to be really fun due to the stories having different branches depending on your skills in the trivia parts. The trivia is not just like a general knowledge one though it mixes between general with a bunch of cinema, anime, and animation questions which you can also choose frequency of making it extra nice if maybe your not the best in one of those categorys. as for the story itself a lot of them even have second or third parts to the story depending how you do, which I found…

Despite the very strange and sometimes off-putting characters/scenarios (morbid deaths, a drug addicted transsexual, literal witchcraft abortion, hypergamy, what seems like a fixation on miscegenation and unhealthy relationships) the concept itself is fun and fairly well executed. The trivia questions were not all related to topics I'm familiar with as I'm not a Final Fantasy nerd and haven't seen all the movies and shows that come up, but that's how trivia goes. You can't expect to know it…

TL;DR: a fun and short game to test you and your friends knowledge on trivial things. The game itself has a very simple formula: solve a trivia, pray Lariat doesn't jinx you, and see how the characters end up. But to me personally, this game speaks to me on a whole another level. I first found this game during my high school years and I was, at the time, a part of the school's choir. I hadn't consumed a lot of media back then so every time we had a break from practice, I would whip out this…

The idea of this game is not bad at all, I would actually enjoy this game if the execution was better. It's the fact that the trivia questions are so random and at times niche that a lot of players will probably have no idea what the answer could be. This game would have been way better if they chose questions that more people would likely know or at least have a good idea of what the answer could be. I only got the last couple achievements because I started googling the questions I didn't know.

I don't even like trivia games, but Majotori somehow makes it fun. It's quite an original little game with some (very) lowkey story elements. It offers a couple solid hours of fun. It definitely has that authentic "passion project" feel and for those who enjoy original games (even if you don't enjoy trivia games like me), it's absolutely worth it. It's high energy/chaos and the gameplay doesn't offer anything other than trivia, so it's best enjoyed in short bursts. You can 100% it in around 3…

Funny Trivia Fun Majotori is a trivia game that is full of charm. character, and entertaining stories. The premise is simple, answer trivia questions correctly, and something good happens, answer them wrong and something bad happens. Romeo could have married Juliet if I didn't forget that Vegeta is the prince of the Saiyans, not Goku! It was 9 "O"s to 1 "X"! Then, the game just picked that one X! LOL. The gameplay loop is simple. When Lariat appears, you answer her ten trivial questions and watch how those poor guys' destiny turns out! Also, … Weird knowledge increased.

A really fun single player trivia game that you'll want to replay to see different scenarios, and sometimes even intentionally give the wrong answers just to see where the story goes when you do that. Majotori is a meta-narrative party game where you answer trivia questions in order to change the fate of various characters. The ending takes the self-awareness of the plot to a whole new level. I had fun with this game. The stories can often take a dark turn when you answer wrong, but I also tanked at least one round because I believed the character was potentially better off without having that specific wish granted. Each wish takes several rounds of trivia to power up, and the result is…

In some of their crucial life events, a witch appears and gives them the chance to magically help them...if they answer a series of questions correctly. Also, it's very replayable, and it isn't a big problem if you don't know anything about one of the topics of the trivia. If you like trivia games and have some idea of any of the topics, I recommended it. If you don't, i guess not.

I was originally going to just load up the 'trivia only' option on the title screen, but I'm glad I didn't! It quickly turned into a 'just one more chapter!' addiction. Majotori caught me completely off guard — I went in expecting a bland trivia game and came out having genuinely cared about whether some fictional guy got his YouTube career or ended up dead because I blanked on an anime question. The core loop is clever: answer 10 questions, then watch a roulette wheel decide the fate of a character whose story you've been following, which means even a wrong answer carries real narrative weight. The stories are short but punchy, occasionally dark, and some of…

Majotori is a fun and entertaining game to play casually, built around a solid trivia format that keeps your mind active and encourages quick thinking. What makes it even more enjoyable is how your correct or incorrect answers directly affect the characters’ wishes, you can either fulfill their dreams or completely ruin their lives, which is a clever and engaging way to connect the trivia mechanics with the game’s lore. Majotori, developed and published by Majorariatto, is a curious and charming experiment that blends the mechanics of a trivia game with the emotional branching of a visual novel. It’s a premise that sounds odd at first—answer questions correctly, and your character’s wish may be granted; fail, and misfortune might await—but the execution turns this simplicity into something unexpectedly engaging. Beneath its colorful and minimalist presentation lies a meditation on luck, fate, and the…

The questions are for the most part ok, but too focused on videogames, anime and movies. Don't expect a lot of general culture questions. Add in the consequences to the in game characters depending on your performance, you get a simple, yet addictive game. If you know your pop trivia from gaming to movies to anime, you're in for a good time. (Seriously, I know my gaming, but there were some left field questions that really threw me). Well worth a buy!
