Lucky Luke
Created by Benjamin Rocher
Lucky Luke, the legendary lone cowboy, must team up with Louise, a fearless young woman searching for her missing mother. Together, they face the dangers of the Wild West, ally with old enemies like the Daltons or Billy the Kid - and learn to get along. This quest may reveal a far greater threat and lead Luke back to the origins of his legend. From TMDB

In the first ep Muybridge turns up he wants to try and take a photo of how fast lucky Luke can draw his gun (I’ve loved Lucky Luke since I was a kid-while superman was battling Nick O’Teen Luke was rolling his own)

Does a good job of capturing and modernising the feeling of the original

That Wolff had wrecked his life by a gambling addiction (IIRC), fell under the control of toxic enemies, tried his best to get away and remake his life, only for his past to catch up with him, forcing him to sabotage the mission or lose everything. And finally-- a chance to pay the final price and go out a hero. So, a series of adult and…

unlabelledView post →Watched an episode of the new Disney Lucky Luke show. I guess, *of course* it would be about a Lucky Luke who can't shoot anymore, because that's how you make stuff good now, you take a character who is fun because they do something, and then you make them not do that anymore. But still. Bummer.

unlabelledView post →They're kind of a special case as far as characters based on historical figures go. There was a single early Lucky Luke story that featured the actual Dalton brothers, but also killed them off. The recurring villains in the series are their fictional cousins who were created as replacements.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., as almost a spiritual adaptation of Lucky Luke, is the closest thing the States has gotten to that.
