Liminal Border Part III
Developer Purple Software
Following the events of Part II, Itsuki and the gang's "Rave" business is close to getting off the ground. Itsuki looks to Meryl Hathaway, a young girl often seen accompanying Kotoko, as a counter to the violence of the Umon-kai as he searches for a way to destroy them once and for all. Criminal Border Part III deepens the stakes as Itsuki moves beyond survival, aiming to dismantle the Umon-kai Yakuza. To do so, he seeks the help of Meryl Hathaway, a deadly enforcer from a foreign syndicate. Unlike the others, Meryl follows orders without question, making her loyalty…

It really means a lot when the devs (usually the indie ones) are quick to respond on steam discussions or commenting your reviews or smth. It…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I had supported Criminal / Liminal Border on Steam (instead of the silly store Johren with their dumb DRM) a lot earlier. That way, I could’ve helped spread the word quicker on the platform about what I consider one of the most overlooked and underrated modern visual novels of all time. That said, Liminal Border 3 / Criminal Border 3rd Offense is the third part of a four-episode series developed by Purplesoft (Amatsutsumi), written by Kazuki Fumi (9-nine, Kimagure Temptation), and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What started as a pretty average episode, by the halfway it far surpassed anything done by the series so far. I was shocked, jaw open staring at the screen in disbelief. Kazuki Fumi has the biggest pair of nuts for doing this... and it WORKED. Just a complete shift in tone, and it just got real. Meryl was the focus of this part, and she has now become best girl. Criminal Border keeps getting better and better, raising the stakes, turning up the heat. And I'm all for it. It's just that good. I…

unlabelledView post →Fantastic episode, the character growth Itsuki has gone through from part 1 to part 3 is massive. This Chapter really took advantage of slowly building up character relationships through 3 games to really deliver a truly striking moment the reader is sure to feel and one I believe readers will look back on years from now when they think of Criminal Border. It makes me sad this series has seemed to not got much attention outside of Japan, hopefully once the next and final chapter is translated…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With higher stakes than the previous parts, this third episode is thrill to read through, a constant fast pace keeps it consistently engaging. Waiting (un)patiently for the last part.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let the reviews fool you. Part 3 is a very hard to swallow story but it also makes this a very good game because it makes you feel so many emotions. Like the previous games everything is very high uqality. The Backgrounds, the soundtrack, the character designs, the CG and the adult scenes. This time Meryl is the Maine Heroine, a young assasine that will win over the heart. I don't want to say much about the story because like I said, it's a very intense one and will change all involved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liminal Border Part III is a visual novel developed by Purple Software and published by Shiravune that continues the intense crime thriller narrative established in the previous installments. As the third chapter of a four-part story, it serves as a pivotal point in the series, pushing both the plot and characters into increasingly dangerous territory. Blending criminal intrigue, psychological tension, strategic maneuvering, and personal drama, the game delivers a compelling narrative…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far, this is the best part of Criminal Border I have read. I knew something big would happen, but still shocked Sometimes we really have to pay the price for what we have done Looking forward to the final part, 9/10
