Still a nice little movie, though! I'll give it that!
unlabelledView post →Perhaps Palmer Luckey isn’t a misogynist like you assume but simply a fan of the Paul Thomas Anderson film Licorice Pizza
unlabelledView post →Trying to not let myself get TOO overhyped for One Battle After Another given Licorice Pizza is one of the most overrated films of the decade... but even the PTA skeptics are loving OBAA (and it's gonna piss off the far right so bad) so what the hell, I'll get hyped! variety.com/2025/film/re...
unlabelledView post →People got so mad at Licorice Pizza and I gotta say it’s impressive that he followed that up, intentionally or not, with a movie that is like that but worse. Just an inescapable vortex for people to have annoying opinions.

Classic Movies That Need A 4K Release ===================================== Chris Bumbray * * * * * So many classic movies are being released in 4K, yet a lot of essential titles are MIA, even if many feel tailor-made for the format. unlabelledView post →A big chunk of negative reviews of Licorice Pizza arent even about the age gap but millenials chafing at the idea of the boy in that movie being allowed to exist.
unlabelledView post →okay listen: i was NOT inspired by the trailers, generally the existence of Sean Penn in a film makes me run for the hills and tho i love PTA really didn’t like Licorice Pizza. so my expectations were low . but this move was a banger!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

unlabelledView post →I forget what the movie was but one of the trailers before it was Licorice Pizza and when Alana Haim says “do you wanna see my boobs?” a tween girl went “Ew.” at conversational volume and everyone laughed
unlabelledView post →I’m seven minutes into my first watch of LICORICE PIZZA and oh my god this is already my favorite movie
unlabelledView post →Licorice Pizza is on BBC2 at Midnight. On the off chance you haven't seen it I think it's Andersons most warmhearted film since Boogie Nights. The kind of film that gives romantic comedy a good name. Plus I've never seen a film that won me over so convincingly just with an opening sequence.
unlabelledView post →I haven't like a single PTA movie since Boogie Nights, but then Licorice Pizza was unexpectedly one of my favorite movies of the year and maybe one of my favorites of all time so I dunno, count me mildly excited about his new off-brand Pynchon one
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching LICORICE PIZZA (2021). Director: Paul Thomas Anderson. Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman. Although Anderson has made some of my faves, this sporadically amusing coming-of-age story only showed flashes of brilliance for me. First rewatch since theater. #filmsky 📽
unlabelledView post →Watching Licorice Pizza again reminds me of when I saw it for the first time and thought it was gonna end by pulling out and revealing the film’s own set, so it’d be about how performance and art imitate life and vice versa, and all these were film storylines…and then it didn’t.

unlabelledView post →#LastFourWatched Strong movie week. I know some people hated Licorice Pizza but something about it clicked with me despite how toxic everyone was in it. Also (not pictured), I watched Peppermint with Jennifer Garner and that was not good. Sadly she couldn’t save that movie.
unlabelledView post →The only Paul Thomas Anderson movie that I want a sequel to is LICORICE PIZZA (2021). PTA should treat it like Linklater's "Before" series and catch up with Alana and Gary as their lives go on thru the 80s and 90s
unlabelledView post →Ok, Friday movie draft, 2020-present. One in each category. I’m taking Drama: Conclave Horror: Sinners Comedy: Barbie Romance: Licorice Pizza Action/Adv: Top Gun Maverick Animated: Wolfwalkers Sci-fi/Fantasy: Dune Part Two Oscar Winner: Oppenheimer
unlabelledView post →Licorice Pizza is the only other PTA movie I've seen. I remember Alana Haim being pretty good in it but the only other thing I rememeber is that everyone was kinda oily. I was drunk when I watched it though so the fact that I don't remember much about it doesn't necessarily speak to its quality.
unlabelledView post →Confession that I am afraid of becoming the sole person in a theater who is Not Getting the PTA Movie (which happened with Licorice Pizza, but not with Phantom Thread).
unlabelledView post →LICORICE PIZZA is a movie about what happens in America when statutory rape laws aren't enforced

unlabelledView post →Okay, so I’m one of the only people who doesn’t think ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER is an instant masterpiece or the film we need right now or PTA’s best. It’s LICORICE PIZZA all over again. I understand the hype. I just disagree with it.
unlabelledView post →Caught up with Sean Baker’s Anora. “ I don’t have instagram. I’m an adult man” is my favourite movie exasperation since Alana Haim’s “Fuck off, Teenagers!” in Licorice Pizza.
unlabelledView post →It is the one in Westwood by the movie theaters I spent the rest of the night trying to get out of after Licorice Pizza. It was almost as long to leave that fucking place as a PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON MOVIE RUNTIME
unlabelledView post →But meanwhile we are rewatching Licorice Pizza on I Player. Such a lovely warm and witty film. And seamless too. And Anderson chooses music better than anyone.
unlabelledView post →Harriet Sansom Harris - 📽️ Phantom Thread (Paul Thomas Anderson, 2017) The drunk and insecure Barbara Rose is a welcome, tragicomic digression in a film with a small core cast. Harris (who also has an unforgettable scene in PTA’s follow-up Licorice Pizza) annihilates her disastrous wedding night.

unlabelledView post →If there's a better film in the last 25 years than 'Licorice Pizza' it's likely to be directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Punch-Drunk Love, Boogie Nights, The Master, Magnolia). Whichever one I watch is my immediate favourite.
unlabelledView post →I was watching a terrible movie (for a thing I’m working on) on my laptop and could see the TV in our living room where my kid & her friends were watching Licorice Pizza and I felt like I was living the meme

She was also in the film, Licorice Pizza, 🍕 and nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress! #HAIM youtu.be/tkwCq_XZzbM?...
unlabelledView post →This might seem like an arbitrary comparison, but it makes sense to me. Rewatching some parts of BOOGIE NIGHTS recently, I was struck by how shallow some of it seemed to me. Whereas a recent rewatch of LICORICE PIZZA delighted me non-stop. decider.com/2025/09/26/p...
unlabelledView post →Licorice Pizza was a cracking film 🍿
unlabelledView post →PTA has never made a bad movie Except Licorice Pizza That shit is worse than licorice on a pizza
unlabelledView post →As with Oppenheimer in 2024, I get to one of 2025's big films—One Battle After Another—and I find it pretty meh. Fun, sometimes funny, but pretty mid action movie overall with some good performances. Certainly not worth the hype. At least better than Licorice Pizza, but that bar was *low* af.
unlabelledView post →The Bee Gees also sang To Love Somebody on this same episode of The Ed Sullivan Show. I hold out hope tape exists.🤞 Trivia: This episode featured Lucille Ball and the cast of Yours, Mine and Ours -- and was a plot detail in the movie, Licorice Pizza.

unlabelledView post →I remember it well. And I lived in Los Angeles then, so it was pretty intense. You could only fill up on certain days based on your license plate. Lines extended for a mile down the street. teh film "Licorice Pizza" captures a bit of it. Now I drive an EV, so thank god I won't have to do it again.
unlabelledView post →...man, i want to watch it again. has PTA made a more purely _enjoyable_ movie? Maybe Licorice Pizza. (Boogie Nights is pure delight until the fall.)

unlabelledView post →Finally watching LICORICE PIZZA, and while I think the bloom is off the rose for me with PTA, Alana Haim is very, *very* good in it. (bonus points for casting her real-life sisters as her movie sister)
unlabelledView post →I've been a PTA fan right out of the gate and Licorice Pizza is my favorite film of his, I love it without qualification.
unlabelledView post →Fav Paul Thomas Anderson movie? Punch Drunk Love Licorice Pizza Phantom Thread There Will Be Blood Magnolia Almost all of them
unlabelledView post →Hard Eight does have a bit of a 'first film' vibe to it but is actually a pretty good little indie movie. I think Punch Drunk Love is a masterpiece. But, full disclosure, I think Phantom Thread is cold and not engaging, There Will Be Blood a bit meh, and Licorice Pizza is his worst film.
