An adaptation of the successful stage musical based on Victor Hugo's classic novel set in 19th-century France. unlabelledView post →Remember how the 2012 Les Misérables movie only used the massive and grand stage-accurate barricades for Valjean's dying fantasy while the actual barricade was just a bunch of crap thrown together in a dingy alley? Feels like there's some symbolism there.

unlabelledView post →like at least the Jean Valjean movie released last year was just taking advantage of Les Misérables being such a long book that you can make a two hour movie out of just his backstory and the encounter with the bishop that fully makes him want to be honest ACC is what, 150 pages???
unlabelledView post →You don’t need to show every single thing, just the ones that narratively matter. Like however you feel about it as an adaptation, Les Misérables (stage not movie) works because it simplifies things without losing the emotional core of the story. There’s a reason why most musicals are under 2.5 hrs.

He thinks he’s written the next Les Misérables, but with all the looping audio, it’s got as much substance as a Marvel movie 😩
