  The new third-person camera really makes this game far more playable. Gameplay-wise, this isn’t some God of War–level PS2 masterpiece. It’s a fairly average game from that era where you mostly work your way through empty hallways while fighting hundreds of enemies waiting for the next cutscene to play. However, the story, characters, and the Shakespearean writing by Amy Hennig make it a real treat to experience.

  We are so back!!! This is exactly what fans hoped for. After the 2 previous remasters made from ASPYR, Crystal Dynamics somehow managed to raise the bar even higher.   It's Defiance with a fresh coat of paint and free camera instead of the forced angles of the original (toggleable setting, just like the new graphics). Only judging the remaster and not the contents of the game, it is great. Though I would like if the skins you can unlock said where they are from, even as a huge Legacy of Kain fan I couldn't identify some of them. Unlike the fanfic that is Ascendance, Defiance is actually good, despite ending in a sort of cliffhanger.

  Well... it is a shinier version of an old toy. Doesn't bring the same joy as discovering the story for the first time. The combat mechanics are brain dead, the controls are flaky (both keyboard and gamepad). I played it with the hopes I will experience the story anew... granted I am 23 years older now. The story is great, you endure the gameplay for the story. Voice acting is unmatched til this day.
