60 of 99 · most liked firstEstimated reading time: 3 minutes I've played various Match-3 games on Steam so far, but Last Resort Island is one of those I enjoyed the most. I already knew from the beginning that it would be a very fun game for me, considering that it's developed by rokaplay, a company whose games I really like. But Last Resort Island actually surprised me a bit: I was expecting to play a standard Match-3 title, but the game offers more than that. The main 98 levels are pure Match-3, but there are side…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island (Match-3) Options include separate sliders for Sound and Ambiance, Custom Cursor, Full-screen a Show Tutorials Only Once button and 5 languages. Choice of Normal, Casual or Relaxed Mode (can only earn 1 star per level on Relaxed). Review based upon Normal difficulty, which means a limited amount of turns -- a mechanic that I never liked... Until now. Story: Contaminated tofu has turned vegans across the globe into mindless, ravenous carnivores who want to eat yer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All they do is selling reskins of the same game, over and over again. This, all Zombie Solitaires, Fantasy Quest Solitaire, all the same, all for the insane price of 9 bucks. Low effort, unbalanced cashgrabs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review on casual mode. This is a move based non timed* match 3 game with some other minigames. 96 M3 levels, 15 solitaire levels, 3 swap and swivel squares to make a picture, and a couple of riddles which doesn't matter if you don't get right you can still get the quest achievement and you can get all achievements on casual. Although there are a few timing elements in a few levels - ice or brown blocks will appear not moved based but over time (on some lvs) and you will have to get rid of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before diving in deeper, I have to admit that I love this kind of casual games. IF you don't like casual or match 3 games, then this one may not be for you. This game was given to me for beta testing, so when the alpha comes out it may slightly be different. • Presentation This game is rather cute and cheerful considering the story. On the story I'll talk in a bit. First the menu. The background of the menu is a lovely beach (let's forget about the half sunken ship and the weird floating…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island commits what I consider the cardinal sin of bad match 3 games, in that it largely fails to reward combos and cascades. For example, a significant mechanic is that you need to match different colour combinations in a set sequence to progress a level. So far, so straightforward. In practice, if you need to get a green match before moving onto a red match it will only count your first move of a turn. Literally any matches beyond the first match are completely ignored for the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty easy and very nice game where you have to smash gems and earn money in order to build your resort and well be sure you won't have any zombie in it..a simple and relaxing game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island it's a very nice match 3 / Solitaire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a really nice match-3 game with a strategic combat system included. I played it on the highest difficulty (normal) and it was challenging but not too hard. There are also sidequest like Solitaire and some other mini puzzles which i also liked. All in all a very good puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 The game is fairly fun and relaxing before it gets very repetitive. You wouldn't mind that for Match-3 type games generally but, the accomplishment which is growing your town is very lackluster and unfulfilling. You slowly get coin gathered from winning levels and spend it on a town. As you get further into the difficult levels you will sometimes find yourself relying on pure luck to get the right combos in the perfect amount of moves, or else concede to repeating a level multiple times…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SO MUCH FUN! Game has 96 levels of match-3, none of which are timed. Instead your score is reflected in how many moves it took you to complete the challenge. The closest it gets to "timed" is with the chocolate squares and the water squares, which very slowly spread across other squares. But it never caused me panic the way timed games usually do, and there weren't that many levels featuring those squares. There are 3 side quests with a jigsaw puzzle, plus one with about 15 (IIRC) levels of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really nice mix of a couple of genres--match 3, solitaire, puzzles, and a little town build on the side. Also a lot of good humor--reading the notes isn't necessary but well worth the time for a laugh. My only complaint is that you can't turn off the auto suggestion thing in the match 3's. If you're looking for just a few seconds or distracted somewhere else the game dings and presents a move. I know it's only a possible move of perhaps many but let me shut the dang thing off!…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun if you enjoy solitaire and match games. I like the quest board. It helps the game not get boring.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →96 Match 3 puzzles. Draggy grind of buying pointless buildings on an island, coupled with a dozen solitaire and mini puzzles. Puzzles are mostly solvable with some luck, requires much re-roll of stages for better gem combinations for better odds on three stars. Rather dull, starting from the halfway mark. Buggy stage ending after consecutive ' replays ' causes match to not register as ' won ', requires a restart of game and replay. Nothing interesting or exceptional. Neutral…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much of what I have to say about the game, I left on the level assessment thread in the Community Hub. I enjoyed parts of the game, others, I had to grind for hours to beat. Admittedly though, match 3 games are not my thing. I'd much rather be playing Solitaire. It would be good to disperse those levels throughout the game, versus having them all in one quest. That would break up the tedium the match 3 games can sometimes have. At times I didn't even know where to start to solve a M3 puzzle.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played quite a few Match 3 games and this one is now among my favorites. The various games have a lot of variety and are on the challenging side. There are also many levels--somewhere around 100. You also get a few side quests, including some solitaire games. Power-ups and special items keep the games enjoyable. It's not the best Match 3 game I've played but it's fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a solid match-3 game. There is no timer on any of the levels. (Some levels have indirect ways of timer implementation, like freezing or solidifying tiles before they move forward.) The game has three difficulty modes. Normal (with fewer moves), Casual (more moves compared to Normal mode), and Relax (unlimited moves, but one can earn only one star after completion of a level). I have played it on normal mode. That took me around 18 hours to complete the game with 100% achievements.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a match three game this sure is one. There's a couple other things but it's just a passable relaxed game overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good solitaire game! Even tho I love playing solitaire, I won't recommend buying them unless they are in a bundle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid Match-3 game, if that is all you want to do in the game, because story finishes somewhere around lvl 40 from ~90 levels. I am achievement grinder, so I finished the game, but I still would have enjoyed spending hard-grinded money on some "town" upgrade or something. As this type of games are not short of supply, I can't recommend this without this disclaimer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A wonderfully fun and challenging match-3 game! The Devs are very helpful also. Well worth the money for the satisfactory experience :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like Zombie Solitaire but reversed to the match 3 game, with solitaire being the side quests. I enjoyed this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun! It has a bit of everything. A storyline, mulitple games (not just the bejeweled aspect). And it is also humorus! Highly recommend for a fun, casual game to play while taking a break from more taxing games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island looks a lot like a mobile app. It's a collection of mobile app type solitaire games, from card solitaire to a basic match-3 game. All in one! Great. There's a lame mobile phone like "town building" progression layer wrapped around the various minigames. There's a pirate theme as the developers more or less try to rip off the style of Monkey Island, but with a crap mobile app back end instead of an adventure game. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bizarrely, this little game is such fun. Highly recommend it to kill/waste some hours. It's not as easy as it looks. It probably is as silly as it looks. I don't think that is a bad thing. We all need some silliness in our lives.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun ... Story line is twisted ... But FUN !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The reoccurring Zombies over and over gets a little monotonous towards the end (okay so it gets really monotonous...) but if you stick with it you can get all the trophy's and achievements. Commentary is pretty funny as long as you don't skip over it. Other than the monotony of having to kill off the Zombies (over and over) its a pretty fun game for a Match 3. Did I mention the monotony of killing the Zombies over and over gets really monotonous?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good match-3 game, and definitely the best one by rokaplay. You got 96 match-3 levels which are well balanced on casual difficulty. only a handful of levels took multiple attempts to 3 star. I haven't tried normal mode but generally don't go for higher difficulties if achievements don't require it. There's a nice variety to the levels with some being more puzzle oriented where you carefully need to use special items to solve the level while others being more simple. My favorite mechanic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is incredible primitive. Poorly designed solitaire levels don't help either. If you want to earn achievements without problem - cheat. Use cheat engine, search for amount of moves you made. Value type - byte.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crashes, slow, not fun and boring game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a very good match 3-game, not too short and not too long. I finished 96 puzzles in 12 hours, I think, This game is not timed but uses turns instead and it's a much calmer game than match 3-games usually are. You can take your time with each puzzle and try to figure out the best way to win. The object isn't to gather as many points as possible but to finish with as few turns as possible. The puzzles are also random so you can replay them without feeling bored. Various combinations…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →> 100% achievement: easy fun gameplay with a couple sidequests.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect game for someone like me, who loves match 3 and solitaire games. Also, the zombies in this game are really cute :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sad to see so few reviews for this game. It's a pretty good casual match game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island is a casual match 3 game with a solitaire mini game thrown in. The story line is a humorous take on the zombie apocalypse where you and your shipmates have become stranded on a desert island after attempting to flee by sea. So with little else to do you set about establishing the worlds last island resort. It's a well made game with a nice range of enhancements like charged gems, quests, and the solitaire mini game thrown in to add to the game play. The primary focus though…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun gem matching game. Game comes with some other bonus modes as well (puzzles and solitaire). The game has a relax mode so you can just chill and play the game (which I did), but this game can also be very challenging when not playing in relax mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island is a colorful and imaginative puzzle adventure developed and published by rokaplay that blends match-3 mechanics with light city-building elements and an eccentric narrative twist. Rather than presenting itself as a straightforward tile-matching game, it layers its puzzles within a whimsical island survival story filled with oddball humor and exaggerated scenarios. The result is a casual yet surprisingly varied experience that manages to feel more expansive than its genre…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting but easily boring, I would recommend another game from this developer: The Forgotten Land
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last Resort Island is okay, not my favorite. I like other match 3/solitaire games better. Meh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of content. Additional other games in there as well like solitaire that you unlock. Enjoyed it much more than I thought. Perfect little chill side game to play in doses whilst listening to a podcast/tunes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very entertaining. Super fun to play. highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has been an interesting experience. I bought a small set of games from this developer on sale, and I feel like I can see a real progression in the quality of the games. The Zombie Solitaire 2 trilogy was really bad. Gave the first one a negative review, didn't waste the time on the others to get to the point where I could write a review. The Forgotten Land was really good, and I had a good time with that one. This one sits squarely in the middle. The core game is a simplistic match three.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Obnoxious overpriced mobile port that doesn't allow tabbing out without issue in the year 2022.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, it's a match three puzzler. No getting around that. But it's a good match-three puzzler. The fact that this is on Steam means first and foremost no microtransactions, so you know right off the bat that the game is beatable without having to pay a cent more than asking price. The puzzles are fine, and they even add some stuff like solitaire and puzzles in case you get bored of the normal matching games. For what it's worth, it's a fine puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game especially if you like a match 3 with something extra. Added bonus if you like something relaxing, you can play without a timer nagging at you constantly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice M3 game. Highly recommended. Medium challenging on "Casual" difficulty, tough challenge on "Normal". Achievements are, well... achievable. Rudimentary base building is a nice side effect but has no impact on the game whatsoever. It's not a negative aspect either because it takes only very very little time. All in all: Good fun for small coin.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a lot of fun playing this game. I didn't expect there will be an unusual story behind this match-3 game which makes it more enjoyable to play. Besides of match-3, the game has other side quests with solitaire and puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice M3 game without frustration about timing. With some additional minigames to not be monotonous. It has most of the usual special tiles like chains, wood, ice; some powerups to recover (usable only on the same map). 4 and 5-matches create 3 types of bombs that is important for the progress. For the challenge you have a turn limit and some number of opponents to kill with the points from the matches and combos. Some may have inhibitor ability taking away your bombs until killed. So it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant little match 3 game. A little harder than Rokaplay's other games but still great none the less. 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basic match 3 game with a bonus solitare mini game on the side. The power ups are a bit basic but they throw some interesting (and some annoying) challenges at you to keep think fresh. If you can get it cheap, it is worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even as a casual gamer, I usually don't play a lot of match 3s. I find most to bore me quickly, so I only do a few games then leave for awhile then come back. But NOT so with Last Resort Island. I couldn't get back to it soon enough. The Match 3 games kept getting harder and more challenging, especially toward the end when I had to keep trying to get those 3 stars...which I did. Yay! The bonus quest games and island resort building that are mixed in were great fun. I've already…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A well done match 3 game, with a framing story and a few other puzzles to provide some variety. The game is almost entirely turn based, with only a few timing elements (that fortunately are not too difficult). You can think about your approach to a given puzzle and plan your moves, making this a more relaxed experience than many match 3 games. The puzzles have a nice variety of different kinds of obstacles and mechanisms for defeating them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SO ADDICTIVE!!! Wow, this is beyond a simple match 3 game. I am totally blown away at how much FUN this is. It steals away my time. Please get working on a sequel soon. I NEED MORE!!!! 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice match 3 game for casual players. Has some optional solitaire levels and other minigames. Easy (but time consuming) for 100% achievement completion if you're into that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →rokaplay games are amazing! And this one is fun, colorful, interesting and funny. I enjoy playing it and progressing through the levels. It also has a few card games for a challenge. Heh heh. I also enjoy finding out the strange/interesting storyline surrounding the Match-3 Events. Oh and of course: it is challenging and requires luck (but what game doesn't?). You want to just sit there, enjoy a game and not think about problems? You've got it! The more games rokaplay creates -> the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun and challenging Match 3 game! The game starts with creating a habitable living area on a remote island. The goal being to turn this simple living space into a resort. There are levels to complete that provide money to create buildings and perform upgrades. The levels and matching games with different board layouts, powerups, and creatures with varying abilities to fend off. The creatures add some nice variety to the Match 3 concept as some are best defeated using a specific…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a nice casual experience with no freemium elements to mar it, then this game fits. It throws in a few different styles of game to mix things up, and all the typical blockers you'd expect from these styles of games are there, with a couple of mechanisms I wasn't expecting. Recommended. You should get this game if: You're lookiung for a nice, casual experience, primarily match 3 but with occasional breaks with things like Tripeaks. You should not get this game if:…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly entertaining Match-3 game with 96 levels and 3 different difficulties, also has some solitaire and puzzle levels as side quests that you can complete and build your own paradise on an island. Plenty of achievements to hunt which makes it even more fun.
