Temple of Osiris received "mixed or average" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator Metacritic. During the 18th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences nominated Temple of Osiris for "Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition". Dave Rudden of IGN called the game "almost as essential as Lara's third-person execursions", praising the game's creative level design and multiplayer while criticizing its lack of personality in comparison to previous titles. GamesRadar+ gave the game four stars out of five, praising the chaotic co-op, environmental puzzles, and bosses, while criticizing the game's loading issues and lack of readability during…

60 of 171 · most liked firstIt's pretty meh, especially compared to the incredible Guardian of Light. Has potential here, but held back by SO many confusing choices, each a misstep that GoL had already got right: Temple of Osiris Guardian of Light Lara has more "realistic" controls, which makes her more sluggish and awkward. Snappy and immediate. Built-in multiplayer means Lara is constantly talking to invisible people. Single player and co-op had different gameplay and dialogue. Scoring uses a multiplier, which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember having fond memories of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Sure it wasn’t perfect, its challenges were especially frustrating at times. The Temple of Osiris is a frustrating experience for an entirely different reason, it’s riddled with bugs to the point that it soured me on the whole game. It is apparent right at the start if your windows’ time region doesn’t match the windows language you’ve chosen, the game crashes and doesn’t want to start. With online co-op, things don’t get…

The game works just fine on my old PC but it only has 2 cores. The newer PC has 32 so had to do the above to fix the problem hopefully this information helps other players. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts off fairly well, it's well paced, the controls are good, the story is silly but fun. Then quickly the game introduces some really obnoxious puzzles; the type of ones that are easy to figure out, but annoying to complete? I quit it when the game presented me with a puzzle that involves moving a mirror to reflect a beam, but the mirror doesn't have any hints as to where the beam will end unless you shoot it with your beam, so you have to keep moving it and retesting every single time...…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's that weird game you bought for cheap on PSN or Xbox Arcade in 2009 that isn't really bad, but still feels like a total waste of time. It just sorta exists and you can maybe even play it, but you'll remember absolutely nothing the next day. Get it on deep sale if you're absolutely starving for a co-op game, otherwise don't bother.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before you read this review I want you to know that I played this alone. Is it better with friends? Probably. But just understand that this is from the perspective of someone who wasn't able to do everything. So, let's start. This is by far the hardest I've ever had to push myself to finish a game! Not because it's difficult (it's really easy), but because of how boring it is. Literally 99,99% of the puzzles are solved by you pressing a button, holding LT or rolling a ball. Sometimes even…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried to play this 3p co-op online and it's just kind of a mess. Somehow this feels worse than its predecessor. The camera was jumping all over the place. We had bugs for events not firing off so we'd have to restart, got black screens, had weird sync errors like getting hit randomly or dying to nothing. Ugh. If you're playing solo it's probably fine as it does have a better feel to it than the first game, but for online play? Maybe give this one a pass. In a time in my life when it's harder…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun co-op gameplay with a good variety of puzzles. The isometric view helps the graphics from looking too dated. Story is a bit basic and the challenges aren’t really tough but you will find many opportunities to wind up dead. We should have gotten more games in this style from Crystal Dynamics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Split fiction for poor people. The coop puzzle sections are pretty fun. The combat parts suck. Has a lot of bugs. Has Oshiri.

In this game, in order to experience it in the best way possible, you need 3 other people. The story and the villain are better than in the last game. The villain becomes constant threat to the player from the start of the game when he places a curse on the player that makes them a target for Ammit, which leads to many chases troughout the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m quite the fan of Lara Croft and her various globe trotting escapades. I think I’ve played all of her mainline adventures including her two top down co-op experiences. This game has a lot to recommend it: 4 player co-op, beautiful graphics, and great level design. However there are a number of issues that bring down the experience and lead to enormous frustration. When playing co-op with a friend I’ve found that even though we collected the items together, next time we revisit the location…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - First off, I like Lara Croft as much as the next guy, but I feel this game was just plain glitchy and super buggy with coop. I'm not sure if it was because of my connection at the time but it was really glitchy. I recall we needed to restart the game multiple times because of some puzzles not loading correctly when going into the level selection from the main hub. Overall, the game is an isometric type design with enemies, puzzles and jumps that you need…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LARA CROFT AND THE TEMPLE OF OSIRIS ------------------------------------------------------- offers a fun co-op experience with its engaging puzzles and fast-paced action. The graphics are vibrant, and the top-down perspective adds a fresh twist to the classic Tomb Raider formula. However, the camera angles can be frustrating at times, and the controls feel a bit clunky. The storyline is enjoyable but not particularly deep. Overall, it's a great game for casual co-op play, despite a few minor…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor Sequel, But A Good Game The biggest flaw with Temple of Osiris is that the game was clearly designed with co-op play in mind. While there's nothing inherently wrong with that it results in a low effort story presentation for solo players. Characters appear during cutscenes, disappear throughout gameplay & then suddenly reappear in later cutscenes, which makes the narrative feel disconnected & hurts the solo experience. However, the gameplay and the improved mechanics over Guardian of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unlike its predecessor - the Guardian of Light - this game lacks character. It feels bland, the characters are unlikeable, the voice acting isn't that great. Even though the graphics are 'improved' the game looks worse, more plasticky. The controls are wonky, too, the movements less precise. The puzzles are mostly just annoying. I loved playing the Guardian of Light with my partner but this, even though I love couch co-op games, was not worth all the annoyance for us.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better quality than Guardian of Light but still essentially the same game. Although a lot more fun this one. Movement, combat, everything is just much better. Still not the longest and arguably easier because of better controls, but a bit less forgiving when going for score (no hit run basically if you want gold score). Overall nice Lara Croft game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controling the character feels very notchy, camera jumps all over the place, interface is randomly hidden by huuuuuge notifications that should be way smaller, you are bombarded with cinematic cutscenes. you are only explained essential game mechanics after despairingly failing a puzzle
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, developed and published by Crystal Dynamics, is an action-adventure title that expands upon the cooperative formula established by its predecessor, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Set in a richly detailed ancient Egyptian world, the game thrusts players into a fast-paced quest to recover the powerful Staff of Osiris and prevent the malevolent god Set from unleashing chaos. The story follows Lara Croft alongside rival treasure hunter Carter Bell and the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What we have here is a yet another tomb raider game that doesn't know exactly what it want's to be, imagine that. ToO is worse than GoL in a few ways, namely it's pacing and heavy emphasis on repetitive puzzles. while GoL had a light dusting of co-op puzzles that I thought were quite fun, this game lays way too heavy into them, likely in an attempt to make it feel "more like tomb raider." I say these games should have went with the fast paced dual stick shooter co-op approach instead, because…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little isometric Tomb Raider adventure. - Nine hours to complete, double that if you want to complete all the challenges. - Keeley Hawes returns as the voice of Lara Croft (voice of Lara in Tomb Raider Anniversary / Legend / Underworld) - great orchestral score - 4-player co-op - Runs on just about any PC these days - works fine with keyboard + mouse, but a controller will be easier Recommended. 7/10 Total size on my hard-drive (5400rpm): 3.1 GB
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I don't know why people are not recommending the game, or as it stands, it's on mixed both All Reviews and Recent, but I think the game is a really great co-op experience. So the game is on the short side, but with the amount of discounts this game gets, it's really not that bad how cheap you can get it especially for what's being offered here. At least nowadays (2026), game runs smoothly. It can be played alone, but it shines in co-op, with up to 4 players. Good puzzles, fun gameplay, nice graphics and extensive voice acting. What else do you want? Best played with joypad Recommended buy price: 5$ Score: 7/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting premise, but it has so many bugs that it is a pain to play, specially with the buggy controls. It looks as if a bunch of students had created it without professional supervision. Not worth playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The puzzles are quite often tedious and not satisfactory. The combat is just constantly running in circles to avoid enemies and spamming weapons. The controls are just wonky for me. The top down view I just hate. I prefer the other tomb raider games where the camera is third person. Honestly, if you want to play tomb raider just go for the more recent trilogy or go for the new one coming out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A sequel that could be considered technically improved on most levels, but ends up a considerably worse game. Still good enough for a thumbs-up, but I was really glad when this was over whereas the first one is something I'd even consider replaying with another co-op partner in the future. Going from two to four player co-op is ambitious and a commendable choice because there's not a lot of games like this catering to that. But it's for a reason: It's a very niche target audience. I'm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris delivers a pleasant gaming experience for action-adventure fans looking for something light yet entertaining. The game builds on its predecessor with a fun four-player co-op mode, offering clever puzzles, satisfying platforming, and a charming old-school arcade vibe. It must have been alright because I ending up finishing this one in a day. I just kept coming back to it. Around 8 hours of good fun, puzzle, twin stick shooting action with a great flow. This is sufficiently different to the first game to feel new but at first it felt a bit janky to play compared to the first release. I'm sure some of the other…

First off, the camera was terrible. Whenever you would make the simplest of jumps, the camera would decide to screw you over, ending up with multiple deaths in what should be a simple tomb. The next is the loads of glitches. The amount of glitches, especially when going for the challenges in some of these tombs was insane. The number of instances of Isis…

It features a top-down camera view and allows for local multiplayer, making it more focused on fast-paced action and quick puzzle-solving instead of exploration.
