unlabelledView post →The most popular achievement in Knytt Underground was awarded to 4.9% of the people who own the game on Steam. I get the impression that most people don't feel too pressured to get obscure achievements.
unlabelledView post →Random aside: For reasons I don't fully understand, 'Knytt Underground' is one of my favourite game names ever. It exudes some kinda alluring aura to me and I played it initially years ago just because of how the name made me feel. It did not disappoint!

Knytt Underground knytt underground my beloved. something special about a 2D platformer/exploration game that's just about the experience, about getting lost in a beautiful world while helping out the people living in it to the best of your ability. idk this game puts me in a fugue state tbh

unlabelledView post →Ooh, have you played Knytt Underground? I'd describe it as a chill Metroidvania. Very unique vibes for this type of game.
unlabelledView post →Knytt Underground was pretty good by this measure as well. Open-world design in general SHOULD be, but often isn't because game companies are cowards and try to impose too much structure and handholding.
unlabelledView post →I completely understand this but I've also seen achievements turn a shallow experience about nothing into a game about something. And I've also seen them used brilliantly like in Knytt Underground where they are given for simply standing on hard-to-reach platforms which had no other purposes.

unlabelledView post →15. Knytt Underground tells you throughout the game that achieving the goals of the game don't matter except insofar as you gain meaning from them through your experience of accomplishment, which is why it ends with Dora wanting to share an objectively meaningless experience.
unlabelledView post →I'm adding Knytt to my list but I'm referring to the original free game, not "Knytt Underground". I don't know how many people will add IJI but I would love to see it at least in the top 50. It's such an amazing game with a kick ass soundtrack.
