Critics, per Wikipedia
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 20% of 25 critics' reviews are positive. The website's consensus reads: "Larded up with too much blubber and not enough bite to justify the tedium, this disappointing survival thriller is beached upon arrival." Chad Collins of Dread Central gave the film 3/5 stars, saying it "has a killer aquatic horror premise, but an uneven tone keeps it from monster movie greatness." Meagan Navarro of Bloody Disgusting gave the film a score of 1.5/5, writing, "If you've seen 47 Meters Down or Lionsgate's Fall, which also stars Killer Whale's Virginia Gardner, this straightforward aquatic thriller adheres to the exact same formula with very little in the…

Been fan of the movie since I was a kid so it was quite exciting to be asked to provide the art for the 4k editions of Blue-ray, DVD, & steelbook!

Rough Canadian fishermen Richard Harris, Bo Derek and Charlotte Rampling battle the Orca.2/5 film-authority.com/2025/09/13/o...
negative · AI labelView post →Now watching: ‘Orca – the Killer Whale’, dir. Michael Anderson, 1977. A ‘Jaws’ knock-off with rather superior production and a serious cast. Lovely Morricone score. 🎥🎬
positive · AI labelView post →I watched Killer Whale, the new horror movie that's basically The Shallows meets Free Willy. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stare at the wall for 90 minutes instead and you'll feel better than you would if you watched this shit.
negative · AI labelView post →JANUARY IS HORROR MOVIE MONTH: 'Killer Whale', in theaters, January 16th. Best friends travel to a remote private lagoon for a retreat. Their trip turns into a fight for survival when they are hunted by Ceto, a vengeful orca seeking retribution for a life spent in brutal captivity.

negative · AI labelView post →It's only the second full week of January, but I have a strong contender for the worst horror movie I'll see all year: KILLER WHALE. Picture everything you hate about the worst "Fin Flicks," but somehow worse.

negative · AI labelView post →Obscure Toon Jan Free Willy(95-95) Inspired by the Movie. This series was about a Killer Whale, named Willy, and his human friend Jesse (Now able to talk to animals) who have eco-adventures while trying to avoid a captain Ahab-like villain Cyborg called "The Machine". Yes, they do the jump.
neutral · AI labelView post →ReSkeet with an unpopular movie you love. Orca: The Killer Whale (1977) R.Harris; C.Rampling; convincing orca footage; and a glorious, earworm-y Morricone score.
positive · AI labelView post →Bonus: Amazon’s take-advantage-of-Shark-Week direct to streaming shark movie is THE DEVIL’S MOUTH. It boldly answers the question: what if Killer Whale (2026) happened in a cave where you can’t see anything?

neutral · AI labelView post →#KillerWhale Trailer: It kind of looks like a Delphinidae knock-off of The Shallows. Like I know the 1977 film Orca was a different spin on Jaws, but I kind of wish they did something more original with these majestic but deadly creatures.
neutral · AI labelView post →Okay, this Killer Whale movie that's not about Payakan the Brave does look super cheap and stupid but watch this trailer and try NOT to laugh when the slowed down serious orchestral heavy remix of a classic song starts playing in the second half. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBS7...

So as not to disappoint me, he took me to a random film which had seats available. It happened to be “Orca the Killer Whale”. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.

negative · AI labelView post →Watched Killer Whale (2026), it’s not the worst movie I’ve seen but there’s some moments where I’m just Christ these people are dumb, especially the best friend. As clunky as it is I’ll take Orca over this one, at least in Orca they capitalize on the title character being a very intelligent animal.
negative · AI labelView post →#Now Watching 2026s #KillerWhale My admiration for Orca's carries a lot of good will toward this movie. It also benefits that I have not seen 'The Shallows' but even known that exists makes this feel a that much more derrivative. But... it has a Killer Whale that lives up to it's name. #Moviesky
