Michael B Jordan from Sinners and Brie Larson star in a tense film about a bygone America when justice was something which was something people expected from their courts. 4/5 film-authority.com/2026/02/03/j...

Or, as Hinton said, "We have a system that treats you better if you’re rich and guilty opposed to if you're poor and innocent." - Hinton (See the film Just Mercy).

Jordan, Jamie Foxx] tells us about "neutral" law, perseverance, and the exceeding cost of entrenched systemic racial injustice. The film is about Bryan Stevenson's work to free people on death row. folukeafrica.com/just-mercy-o...

unlabelledView post →Just Mercy = A+ Incredible movie and based on a true story. Racism sucks
unlabelledView post →Watched a movie on Netflix last night called “Just Mercy” about an obviously innocent Black man on death row in Alabama in the late 80’s, early 90’s…housed in death row BEFORE his trial. America has so much to be ashamed of when it comes to its criminal justice system.
unlabelledView post →My beef is your beef. Read Just Mercy (or watch the movie), and follow Bryan Stevenson to learn more.
unlabelledView post →Watched him in 'Just Mercy,' also on HBO. Hopefully still streaming. VERY good film & performance.
unlabelledView post →If you’re looking for a really fabulous MBJordan performance, check out, Just Mercy (2019) — an underappreciated, important film.
unlabelledView post →This is an excellent list. I would add the books The Tragedy of True Crime: Four Guilty Men and the Stories That Define Us, by John J. Lennon (libro.fm/audiobooks/9...), and Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson. (The movie of the latter is on the list already, but the original book is just outstanding.)
unlabelledView post →Quote from the movie/ book, by Bryan Stevenson, “Just Mercy”; “The opposite of poverty isn’t wealth, the opposite of poverty is justice. The character of our nation isn’t reflected in how we treat the rich and the privileged but how we treat the poor, the disfavored and condemned.”

unlabelledView post →Bryan & I went to college together. It was totally surreal to see Michael B. Jordan pretend to be him in the movie version of "Just Mercy"! You're right: Bryan is indeed humble & completely dedicated to the work. Thanks so much for your kind reply.
unlabelledView post →If you find yourself questioning capital punishment even a little then watch the movie "Just Mercy". What they did to Walter McMillian to put and keep him on death row was a travesty. It's based on real events and shows how too many innocent people on death row were exonerated for various reasons.
unlabelledView post →ONE HUNDRED WORD REVIEW: “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” The latest film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12, Just Mercy) has grossed over a billion dollars to date, making it the highest-grossing film of 2026. #writing #film
unlabelledView post →Not sure there's any director where I have as wide a range of reaction to their work as Destin Daniel Cretton. SHORT TERM 12 is perfect, JUST MERCY is a mediocre '90s legal drama delivered 20 years too late, his Marvel work has been terrific, and GLASS CASTLE is the worst fucking movie ever made.
unlabelledView post →85. Just Mercy (2019) - took another spin on my Oscar picker wheel and landed on Michael B, so picked this one for him. This was such a solid legal biopic. Great performances from the whole cast. The movie isn’t revolutionary in terms of filmmaking. It’s just a damn good story.
unlabelledView post →Michael B Jordon is clearly a man of his moment. A very impressive actor - 'Sinners' killed it at the Oscars, but 'Just Mercy,' a true story about the oppressive racism & prison system in Alabama, was breathtaking, mainly due to his performance, supported by Jamie Foxx & Brie Larson. A great film.
unlabelledView post →And why, Just Mercy, starring Michael B. Jordan is such an important film.

unlabelledView post →Watched the film Just Mercy tonight. Can't believe the American justice system is so.... I can't find the words... At the very least, remove double jeopardy from the statute books and have another look at the processes and politics behind condemning a person to death.

unlabelledView post →Michael B Jordan's movie 'Just Mercy' was pretty damn good too. m.imdb.com/title/tt4916...
unlabelledView post →He’s so underrated as an actor. His performance in Just Mercy was fantastic and apparently he killed it in this movie as well. So proud of him.
unlabelledView post →Just Mercy is quite a good example of how it can be done better (in terms of framing and representation, the film itself is not as good as Mississippi Burning)
unlabelledView post →Onto courtroom/legal drama number 25 last night, Just Mercy (2019) A perfectly serviceable movie, nothing really wrong with it, although it didn't really excel at anything either. The direction was very much just point and shoot for the most part. I enjoyed it enough for what it was.

unlabelledView post →It’s very hard for me to choose just one, but if I had to it’d be JUST MERCY by Bryan Stevenson: bookshop.org/a/4646/97808... Also, the movie is exceptionally well-done. It’s not as complete as the book, but compelling if you prefer to consume stories that way. #BookRec #TBR #BookSky

unlabelledView post →It’s nonfiction, but Just Mercy is an amazing book, and the film adaptation is solid. I also recommend West of Memphis as a good legal documentary.
unlabelledView post →The movie "Just Mercy" is the true story of an innocent man saved from death row in Alabama. Excellent movie. I wish they would show it at least once a year on an open source to remind people that the justice system makes mistakes. After death there is no way to correct.
unlabelledView post →It’s an autobiographical account of a man who was wrongfully sentenced to death row- represented and eventually exonerated by Bryan Stevenson- and it adds a great opposite perspective to Just Mercy. He’s even mentioned in the book, though I haven’t seen the movie. If you haven’t read it, you should!
unlabelledView post →My book club a few years ago read JUST MERCY. I haven’t seen the movie.
unlabelledView post →Unequal justice happens a lot in AL and other places. It usually comes from not being able to afford a lawyer and systemic racism in the justice system. I don't know if attorney Brian Stevenson is involved. He's good, so I hope he is. There is a great movie "Just Mercy" about a similar case.
