60 of 132 · most liked firstThis one looks nice but the gameplay ain't so fun to me. It's a pixel-art puzzle platformer based on strict action sequences with a tightly cropped screen area, so the player can't see much - all the difficulties come from these 2 facts, making you to navigate levels with try & fail method, gradually studying its structure. But after you have once passed an area there is just no intrigue left to return. Besides the objects themselves being presented on screen up close, their hitboxes are…

There are 54 short-ish levels of platforming and simple puzzling. Levels can be restarted at any time, and you'll need to frequently, since it's easy to mess yourself up when you're first starting the levels. You can possess different humans, each with their own abilities (high-jump, double-jump, move boxes, shoot, etc.) Only the guard will react…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, just 100%'ed this game. Bought it for the bagdes, then went to actually play it for 100% cheevo's... it's actually very fun! Reminds me of old platformers like Commander Keen of Mega Man. While there were quite a few game freezes at random times, they didn't happen too terribly often, and the game made up for that with the stages all being really small so you never lose much progress (you can restart at the beginning of whatever level you have unlocked/gotten to). I've only played easy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=719785675 Jelly Killer isn't necessarily a bad game, it's just not fun or innovative. After the first 10 levels you've seen almost everything, playing all the way through level 54 felt like a chore. As shown above, the "puzzles" in the game mostly rely on timing and level memorization: Die by a trap you couldn't see until you got there, replay entire level and avoid that memorized trap. If the level total was reduced to around 25 and the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played this game a little and I am already addicted. You play a moveable slime/jelly ball (with cute face 'n all) that has the ability of possessing other people in the various encountered levels/areas, but watch out!; You need to possess the correct character (professor, military man, engineer, etc); each has their own ability that pertains to the various puzzles and platforms contained in the level. You will find yourself possessing, jumping, dodging, pushing blocks, shooting, etc…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok guys, this game's awesome, really. Too bad it's the only game published by these developers here! It's not a new concept, of course, but it's realized greatly and it's lots of fun :) The music isn't that great but anyways, it's the only downside apart from 3€ as full price, so, of course get it on sale. The game consists of a platformer with some twists. Graphics are definitely great, cartoonish but also detailed. If you're an old player, the mechanics and the environments will probably…

Use a human to have extra life. 9 / 10 - A nice platforming game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jelly Killer is a straight-forward 2D retro platformer with tight controls and a simple 'enemy possession' mechanic that evolves nicely over the course of the game's 50+ levels. That really and truly sums it up but if you want more in-depth thoughts here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDg7rgeCHAE
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was not what I was expecting. It is a puzzle platform game where you can "zombify" other humans to use their abilities. For the most part, these humans are located in a static location and don't do anything. The soldier will shoot you, but the others just stand there. Jelly Killer is needlessly frustrating. There are two issues that make it so. First, the camera is limiting. You cannot see what is around the corner until you get there. Second, there are lasers and other deathly traps…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s funny what grabs your interest at times. Today’s spotlight focuses on Immortal Game Studios’ first game on Steam, Jelly Killer. The game looks like a cute enough little platformer when you view it on the Steam store but it doesn’t look like something that will grip you. I’m a little taken aback at just how much I was attracted to the game while playing it and just how much I wanted to continue on before writing this review. It’s an action platformer where you have to complete 54 different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jelly Killer is an excellent game that reminds me of so many classic 2d games. It's pretty easy to learn and provides a lot of fun. Many levels to explore, puzzles and bosses to fight make this game enjoyable. For $3 and an interest in retro games pick it up and give it a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Design-wise, the game is pretty good. The only problems I have are the camera and control layout for a keyboard; you can't shift the camera, which can obstruct your view and not see what is ahead, causing to get hit by something you couldn't see coming in the first place. The layout for the keyboard controls is fairly awkward. Allocating the fire button to "Alt," when it could've been put to either "Q" or "Space," coupled with no way to edit the control layout, is a design choice I don't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I got a coupon for this game from crafting a badge, and I thought it looked decent enough. Actually playing it, though, was a whole other story. First off, the game doesn't run as well as the trailers make it look. I don't know how or why, but it just doesn't. And I have a very decent gaming laptop, too. At some points it almost felt like it was tearing the screen a little. Hard to explain, but it was uncomfortable on my eyes. Secondly, the music is EXTREMELY annoying. It's the same loop…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent platformer with pixel graphics. + Visuals. + Interesting idea with interesting game mechanics in general. - The design of some levels is garbage. - Lasers and anything that shoots something has no patterns, it's completely random. - For a platformer with traps everywhere, the camera is garbage, often you will not see where you are falling and there is a pit there, enemy or other ♥♥♥♥. The awful design of the levels and the garbage camera become apparent after level 43 where you die…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oldschool inspired platrofm puzzler where you play the role of an experimental sentient bio-weapon that can take control of humans, on its quest to escape the high security facility in which it is contained. The different humans abilities make up the puzzle portion of the game, with five types: Scientists, who can jump high (because nerds are well known for their athletic ability), Engineers, who can move boxes, Soldiers who can shoot, Jetpack guys, who can double jump, and finally Generals,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If this game were any more expensive it would be a non recommendation, but cheap as it is what I have played so far made this game worth it already, even if I stop playing before finishing it. The major problem for me is the level design around half way in the game. Hazards just outside the field of view will have you taking leaps of faith on spikes and getting shot in the head by turrets you can't see yet. If it is by design you should be aware of it. I would have liked to know that before…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, Jelly Killer. A game where i don't exactly know if the Translator made a lil hickup or if it's intentional (Spoiler: You actually play the Jelly and kill people, not the other way around) Either way, i got this game back then for i think only a handfull of cents with a Coupon i got from making badges. I actually had to look up to regular price for the game to make sure what to expect and rate it better. I will disclosure that in the end of my review. Note: The Game description…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great platforming puzzle based fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fine, but the randomly timed projectiles are so unfair. Even if you have a good run going, if the laser RNG decides to take you down, they will. You can't time it, you can't anticipate it, and the randomness of this fact is just too much for me. Most other aspects of the game are decent, like the art, the concepts, and decently short length, but the RNG is too big a gripe to ignore
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Story (3/10)": It´s pretty bland, as simple as a “rescue the princess from a monster-kind of story”, you´re basically an evil sentient blob that takes control of living creatures like a zombie virus, your objective is to escape the military base you´re trapped in. "Graphics, animation and presentation (5/10)": The game has a cartoony goofy art style, the sprite quality is decent but the animations are stiff and the color palette is very bland, both for the characters and the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yet another generic Steam platformer without any actual effort put into its design. A good idea is not enough to make a great game. The level design is terrible, full of blind jumps/traps, and extremely monotonous. Skip this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept of the game is a mash up: you play as an evil jelly who zombifies humans by possessing them. It is funny in a dark and discrete way: the authors do not try to shove jokes down your throat. Which is great. The game consists of 54 puzzles (although the first 5-ish act more as a tutorial). In each puzzle you must reach a pipe, possessing some humans on the way. Each "type" of human gives you a special ability (e.g. higher jump, push boxes, double jump). These are mostly dexterity…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me be clear, I'm not downvoting this because it's a bad game, the first couple levels are wildly fun and interesting and add a bunch of new mechanics to the platforming genre... but however, the one problem with jelly killer is that it get's old real quick. After the first 10 or so levels, you seen everything the game has to offer, and the remaining 42 levels are just rehashing the same old stuff you've seen in every other level. It's also infuriatingly difficult, but not in the good way.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The title lies, I did not kill jellies, i was the jelly and i killed people.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jelly Killer is a side scrolling game, where you control a bio weapon that plans on escaping captivity. Story: In the far future, scientists discover what caused a zombie apocalypse and plan on using that knowledge to create a bioweapon that can turn humans into zombies. One day however, there is an emergency in the facility and the blob escapes. The story is pretty simplistic and nothing special. The set up is interesting, but that's about all there is for a story as the game is more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jelly Killer is boring. - The level design often feels sloppy and the difficulty usually comes down to random timings and placement of the lasers and guns. An example of this is that the game allows you to look up or down, which is basically an excuse to place guns out of sight. The different classes of people you can take over to gain special abilities merely function as a key to the next part of the level. There is no puzzle element. - The game starts with full screens of text which tell the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't recommend this game mostly because it didn't give me a good time, completed it due to my pride. It becomes annoying once you realize the traps are badly programmed, if you don't get close to a certain point they won't activate, sometimes even if you get too close, they won't shoot, their triggering time as well as their inactive interval is irregular, meaning you have to guess when are they going to shoot so you can move. Basically, there is no timing, you have to blindly run and hope…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →must own this game nice killer game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unfair game. Not for people who are easily frustrated. Requires more luck than skill due to the fact that all the turrets and lasers don't follow a pattern but shoot randomly. Still, I enjoyed parts of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really fun game. I haven't tried it with a gamepad yet but with keyboard and mouse it's pretty swate. Plays well on integrated intel graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not exactly a run of the mill platformer as youre a blob of jelly (or pumpkin) so i gave this a shot +54 levels +Three difficulty modes +Fun platforming with different types of enemies you take control of their bodies for jump height, shooting, pushing crates etc +The game is broken up into levels but theres no load screens- you transition from one level to the next via a tube you go through, like the pipes from Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic 2. +Doesnt take long to beat (about 2.5hrs for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another puzzle platformer game like meatboy and prison Run and Gun. Just like any game of that genre, it can be fun and yet frustrating at times. The frustrating portion of the game was trying to get the right timing of avoiding traps, which were not well synchronize. The game has three difficulty levels(easy, normal and hard). I'm not sure if the map layout changes with each difficulty but from playing only a few levels in hard mode they add mines to the game to create more of a complex…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short, but fun, puzzle-platformer. Just make sure you don't jump into spikes. Although it seems like an extremely good idea at first, it just doesn't end well. 11/10. Would jump in more spikes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent platformer. You are taking hold of different characters with unique abilities to complete the mostly short levels. Good idea well executed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a fun platformer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you were intrigued by the concept, then the game "MO:Astray" delivers a richer and more functional game. Jelly Killer is an unplayable mess that keeps stuttering. The dev didn't even proofread his texts. That is how much effort was put into this game. Mistakes literally soft-lock you and force you to manually restart every time from the ESC menu. If it is trying to be a platformer, it must be accessible and functional, which Jelly Killer isn't. Why even bother with this mess? MO: Astray…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Opinion: Because I started crafting badges on steam, I got a coupon code for this game (-66%). When I saw the original price, I already found it quite cheap, but with the coupon it was way more interesting, and the only way I would actually buy it. This game is exactly what you would think of it. It's simple, very fast-paced, and doesn't have much to offer. It has 54 levels, which each will take approximately 40-60 seconds, if completed first try. Some are more challenging than others, but in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's obvious that the dev tried to put as much soul into it as possible, as seen through various details that are not obvious from the first glance, but the game was absolutely not tested (in terms of player feedback) and was not maintained after release, which results in a TON things that just annoy you while you play and do not allow to get a plesant experience. Just to name a few: * there are no checkpoints, no matter how long levels are; * there are some things that are not rhytm-synced…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fluid game. All achievements could be achieved during one playthrough. Maps are small. Gibs look like straight out of Apogee game. One great downside of this game - is the lack of female characters and, maybe, a level editor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game but there are so many flaws that I simply can't recommend it. First of all, it's locked at 30 fps which feels unplayable. There's no audio or graphic settings what so ever and the UI is awful. It's such a shame, since it's a good platformer that's hindered by it's awful optimization.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jelly Killer is a simple but competent game with identity, a game with hits and, in my view, only one downside. Jelly Killer is a simple puzzle game whose objective is you, a gelatinous creature, reach the end of each stage using the body of the people who are in the laboratory. The solution of the puzzles using this "parasitism" gives a very fun dynamic for the gameplay, the stages are all interconnected (which gives an excellent fluidity to the game) and the level of difficulty increases…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is alright for its price and worth it if you have 2 hours to spare.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most genuinely unappealing puzzle platformers I've ever played. On top of its ugly aesthetic of trying too hard to be retro, the game assaults you with its 30FPS gameplay and its 30 second loop song that drones on - yes, singular song, and its environment is just as repetitive and one note. There's not even an end game boss or end game something that spices things up. It's just the same Newgrounds style flash game from start to finish. If you want this style of game but much better…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and pleasant platformer with simple but interesting gameplay for a couple of hours. Not hard, but aslo not too easy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: This is my own opinion, I'm not trying to be mean here. Whether you're a fan or even the dev team try not to get to mad, or sad over 'lil old me. Just voicing what I think. Feel free to politely disagree. Overview: What is Jelly Killer ? A pixelated nightmare of 2D platforming, that's what. I'll admit, it's a good concept, but like many things when put into action it just does not work. The controls are hard to nail down, several areas are way harder than they should be, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a suprisingly well-made game. I bought this becuase of a discount I got and I definntely did not regret it. The idea of being able to take different characters is unique, and very fun as well. A total 10/10 from me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty great for the price. It has a fairly fun and unique premise. Youre a jelly monster and you must infect/ possess people as wel as utilize platforms to get from point A to B If you like platformers, you will probably enjoy this game. The price is fair the visuals, well theyre alright, certainly easy on the eyes ^_^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little "old-shool platformer", definitely worth 1€ it's selling for at the moment. I'll update the review when I play some more levels, but so far it seems well executed and bug-free.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I refunded this pile of poo because the 30fps made my nose bleed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never ever been a fan of oldschool, 2D, platformers, BUT! got this pice of game, i just had to try it AND! i cant seem to stop, its fun, its frustrating, its a pain in the a... but after enough of fails and curses, it actualy moves on. The only problem is that if you die, you have to start way back at the starting point, and once again lure the same traps/puzzles again. The timing on different traps are not synchronized, so you really have to be on an alert, not just count 1-2-3-jump. So if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jelly Killer, is a fun game where you as a bio weapon take hold of humans that have different pro's, which you need to get through the levels. One will allow you to jump higher, another will open doors, but in the end you have to work your way through 54 levels. I enjoyed the concept and game play, and hope that the game will have some more levels come out, or a follow on for some more fun. The achievements were also humorous, and fun to do. Great little game for some fun in the pipes!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ceiling traps and backtracking the game, got it for the cards. But for real this game is alright but it has some game-play flaws. The limited field of view makes it hard to see oncoming traps even with the look up/down mechanics. Some of the traps have weird timing making it a bit rng based in some cases and annoying to time the next time around. My favorite part of this is taking over the security guard because it makes me feel stealthy and I can take my revenge on ALL OF THE ANNOYING TRAPS…
