When I first saw it, that really registered as old. Now, just having turned 50 last year myself, I felt it way differently. I’m nearly in my Max Cherry years…

unlabelledView post →With the exception of Jackie Brown - which is a great movie - Tarantino isn’t for me. Just came back to Once Upon a Time.. after several years; I still think it’s terrific, almost JB’s level, a hilarious, bittersweet romance about the town & its limits.
unlabelledView post →He cast Pam Grier in Jackie Brown. I don't know how much more referential you can be to the Blaxploitation genre than having her play the lead in that movie.
unlabelledView post →I think it's his second-best movie to JACKIE BROWN. JB is great because it's Elmore Leonard - not to knock Tarantino's part, Leonard said it was the best screenplay of his work, one of the best he'd ever read. And ONCE UPON A TIME.. is different because it's something he lived through. You feel it.
