Invasion of Astro-Monster
Astronauts Glenn and Fuji investigate Planet X and encounter mysterious aliens known as the Xiliens, who ask Earth's people to help save their world from "Monster Zero". In exchange for borrowing Godzilla and Rodan, the Xiliens offer a cure for cancer. As Glenn investigates, he develops a romance with Miss Namikawa and uncovers the Xilien's true intentions. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →#Zillathon2026 6: Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965) This sci-fi adventure boasts a great cast and strong story, but as a Godzilla film it falls a little flat. The brief fights feel perfunctory and don't seem that important to the plot. Still, it's a fun watch, even if the kaiju thrills are lacking.
unlabelledView post →Today's Godzilla film was the 1965 'Invasion of Astro-Monster'. Godzilla and Radon get duped by aliens into going to space to fight Astro-Monster (who is really just King Ghidorah again). I think it might be most famous for Godzilla's victory dance...

All Monsters Attack (1969) Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966) Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965) Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975) The War of the Gargantuas (1966) (not Godzilla but very awesome)

unlabelledView post →This bonkers #Godzilla film has some great special effects but will always be known for being the one where Godzilla does a victory dance. In this video I look at both the awesome & insane aspects of the 1965 movie "Invasion of Astro-Monster"... youtu.be/0dRh9mR0TVk?...
unlabelledView post →Just watched Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965). I’m not a kaiju guy but I periodically give one a try anyway. I don’t know, I guess I’m not on the right wavelength for these things. This is a pretty silly movie. It looks really cool though, I liked all the 60’s designs and sets.
unlabelledView post →Happy 59th anniversary to this classic “Invasion of Astro-Monster” 🙌🏻 It has a special place in my heart, such a fun film! This film also blessed us with one of the most iconic moments in Godzilla history, Godzilla’s Victory Dance! 🫡

Godzilla and Rodan are captured by flying saucers from Planet X, and taken back there to battle King Ghidorah (a three headed dragon) (1965) Now to find a copy...

unlabelledView post →The two Toho Frankenstein movies and the Godzilla all-star team-up movie INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER were given some financial help and international distribution from U.S. film producer Henry Saperstein, which is why you have an American lead in all those movies listed above. #Riffotronic
unlabelledView post →1. Godzilla '98 2. Invasion of Astro-Monster 3. Tokyo S.O.S. 4. Final Wars 5. Godzilla: King of Monsters. The runner ups are any film with Mothra in it. Lol. Minus One is very close to replacing one, but can't beat nostalgia just yet. XD
unlabelledView post →All Monsters Attack (1969) Godzilla at least had more relevance to the plot of this movie than Invasion of Astro Monster. It's still the worst of the lot though. I know there was no budget but this was the best you could come up with? I do wish Godzilla was my friend though (Minilla is my enemy).

unlabelledView post →In fact, Invasion of Astro-Monster was shown as a double feature with the youth rock film Campus A Go-Go, which features Kunie Tanaka doing the “Sheeh!” / “Godzilla Dance” pose twice as well!
unlabelledView post →NW: "The X from Outer Space" (1967, dir. Nihonmatsu Kazui) Shochiku tried to capitalize on the Gojira craze with a film that seems to resemble 1965's "Invasion of Astro-Monster" (a personal favourite!). Interestingly, there is an ethnically diverse cast in this film.
unlabelledView post →Rewatched Invasion of Astro Monster which I remember really disliking back in the day. Still think it’s pretty weak but I had a better time this go around. Can’t get mad about a movie where Godzilla does a little dance.
unlabelledView post →The Xiliens, the technologically advanced aliens bent on conquering the Earth, were first introduced in Invasion of Astro-Monster. Despite being popular Godzilla villains, this was their first appearance in a Godzilla movie in nearly four decades. #FFBMovieNight

unlabelledView post →What’s your favourite Godzilla/Kaiju film? For me, one of my favourites has gotta be Invasion of Astro-Monster. Just the right amount of ridiculous cheese played straight. Those alien outfits are so styling. Plus it has my favourite monster, King Ghidorah, and he fights Godzilla on Planet X! 🛸

unlabelledView post →INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER takes us to outer space. The Honda films definitely lean into exaggeration. It’s still another well plotted Godzilla movie that sides the audience with the monsters. Honda’s films veer towards grander ideas while still creating awesome destruction. 📽️🕸️🍿🗃️

unlabelledView post →Seated for “Godzilla vs. Monster Zero” (1965) Originally titled “Invasion of Astro-Monster,” this sixth film in the Shōwa Godzilla franchise follows an astronaut’s journey to Planet X to fetch Rodan and Godzilla, who were lent to aliens supposedly in distress. #filmsky #NowWatching
unlabelledView post →This movie was originally titled KAIJU DAISENSO ("Great Monster War"). Toho chose the grammatically incorrect "Invasion of Astro-Monster" as their overseas export title. The international version that was reworked into MONSTER ZERO was titled in English INVASION OF THE ASTRO-MONSTERS. #svengoolie

unlabelledView post →Hell, even the way a single director frames Godzilla based on their own (and their studio's) desires changes from movie to movie. Honda's work on Mothra vs Godzilla is markedly different from Invasion of Astro-Monster.
unlabelledView post →"Invasion of Astro-Monster": What a bipolar experience. As a sci-fi movie it's not bad (and includes a predictable but still fun plot twist), but as a monster movie it's pretty lame.

unlabelledView post →Invasion of Astro-Monster is in Fresh Tier A pretty refreshing film, I liked the human stuff more than the monster action. Rodan and Ghidorah look kinda goofy flying. I love how agile Godzilla is in this one. The dance is so good. Had a really fun time watching this one!

unlabelledView post →Invasion of Astro-Monster Pretty damn entertaining, may not be that good, but way better than the previous movie, even if I missed a few minutes here and there, tho the plot isn't all grand, but seeing Godzilla move like that with football tackles and actual boxing movements was really funny
unlabelledView post →Too difficult and it changes from day to day. If I could choose a "not so classic movie" crush I would go with Kumi Mizuno - naturally ("Invasion of Astro-Monster"). Classic? Let's go with Gloria Grahame from "The Big Heat".
