There is currently no reported fix to make it playable & it has been officially abandoned, so honestly in its state it should be free.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As others have said the RNG is just too extreme, e.g. even early on you can get a random boss that slaughters your entire team in seconds or an area with humans attacking you instead of zombies, again wiping your entire team in seconds, and no warning of either situation. Play Infectonator 3 instead, you play as the zombies instead but it's way more fun and there's much less extreme impact from the game's randomness.

This game is too repetitive and exploring areas is painfully slow. That moment when I realised that I needed to explore 75 percent of an area at a really slow pace only to realise that I need to do that 4 more times and have an encounter that is just annoying almost every time I move to another square on the map. Looks and plays like a mobile game; there are lots of better zombie, survival, TD, and/or turn-based games out there. I ended up playing the original Infectonator flash game the whole evening instead. Hell, it's free, too, and still fun in 2020. I feel somewhat cheated by the company reusing that game's title and benefiting on my nostalgia feelings.

Rogue-lite, so death means starting over which can be frustrating when the levels are kind samey. The point and click controls can lead to some dumb pathing too. If you can pick this up for cheap, you may get some fun out of it. I'm not going to be playing this to completion.
