unlabelledView post →my experience thus far with Indika is that I painstakingly gathered five buckets of water, a nun dumped all my water on the floor, and the game crashed without saving. 10/10 for ludonarrative
unlabelledView post →The (low) number of people in the game industry that have played INDIKA is very apparent in all the awards shows I have been to this year. What the heck y'all
unlabelledView post →I have never played a game that hates it's protagonist so much. Indika is traumatized, lied to, exiled (twice!),singled out, bullied, SAd, imprisoned, betrayed and finally told nothing matters cuz apparently that's deep. The initial premise was interesting, thought provoking, respectful to the source. But the game drops all that by act 2 to spoon feed you the dev's message of 'religion bad'. Great visuals and superb voice acting can't hide the fact that by the finale creators ran out of…

IMO, developers should be more self-critical of game length — is there an artistic reason your game is 80 hours long, or can you be more concise without losing vision? store.steampowered.com/app/1373960/...

unlabelledView post →I gotta be honest with y'all, I did not expect the Indika video to do this well. A deep dive into an indie religious interrogation game that pivots around a few pixelated shadows? Goes to show you never can tell!
unlabelledView post →Indika is a bizarre game where a young, deeply anxious nun goes on a road trip, all while the Devil himself provides a sarcastic commentary in her ear. It sounds like the setup for a brilliant, dark psychological thriller about the nature of belief. Unfortunately, the execution feels less like a profound theological debate and more like a high schooler discovering nihilism for the first time. The gameplay mirrors that emotional flatness. Walking, simple puzzles, and repetitive interactions…

unlabelledView post →INDIKA is one of those games that will stick with you—not because of its gameplay, but because of its atmosphere and storytelling. The biggest issue is that it barely feels like a game at times. Much of the experience is spent slowly walking from one dialogue scene to the next, interrupted by only a handful of simple puzzles that rarely challenge you. It's closer to an interactive art project than a traditional game, and if you're looking for engaging mechanics or meaningful gameplay, you may…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This vid is the perfect blend of "I thought that too!" and "I never thought of that!" and is very good because of it. If you played Indika you should absolutely watch this. Great analysis on a great game.
unlabelledView post →This is great (only watch it after you've played Indika) because Jenna's interpretation is totally different from mine, but also correct, because this is a game that allows actual dialog between the player and the game and is open to multiple interpretations.

unlabelledView post →I wish I could give this a firm recommendation, but honestly I just can't and there's a number of factors in why. It's true that I expected a somewhat different game based on what I heard and I'm sure that's part of why I'm ultimately disappointed with it, but there's more to it than that. There are two main things that stand out to me as disappointing, and the first is the store page insisting that this is a "darkly funny game" and while yes there are indeed funny moments.. it's almost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m really glad I finished Indika and loved the ending. As a game I don’t hold it that highly (it’s okay!) because frankly it felt like a walking sim that was desperate to add interactivity to prove its “a video game” and a lot of that aspect sucked but the writing was very good.
unlabelledView post →Such an interesting and provocative game, like everything @11bitstudios.bsky.social makes. If you haven't tried INDIKA yet, it's definitely worth a look! Not only is it very very beautiful, but it's thought-provoking in a way most games aren't, IMO.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a weird and depressing story. It being a narrative-driven title the gameplay is pretty weak - it's mostly about exploration, solving simple puzzles and annoying mini-games, at least getting 100% completion is very easy and best of all you can just replay each chapter, the chapters themselves are only 15-20 minutes long. If you like shortish philosophical games this one is worth trying out.

unlabelledView post →Playing this game is like watching a A24 Horror movie that a bunch of people really like and you can't really understand why. This isn't really a game that you play, It's more like an experience that you sit through and sometimes interact with. I get what they are trying to go for with the theme. But most of the time I was either bored to tears by the tedious gameplay or just confused by the weird scenes, dialouge and actions the characters took. It's clearly made with intent and with some…

Phenomenal cinematography in the cutscenes. Cannot recommend this enough. I can't promise you'll enjoy it but you'll get something out of it.

unlabelledView post →First off, I would never recommend this "game" to anyone. The gameplay just serves as a way to get to the next dialogue, so it's basically a walking simulator with occasional puzzles, which are just tedious. The 8-bit 2D sections of the game feel so out of place that it's not even funny. The game is also trying to make fun of some basic game tropes, like "do the same thing five times to finish this quest" or "collect collectibles to earn points," which can be hit or miss. But ultimately, it…

Not because of the puzzles. Not because of the gameplay. I simply couldn't stop following where it wanted to take me. At first glance, it looks like a strange journey through a distorted version of Russia, full of religious imagery, dark humor, and surreal moments. But the further I went, the more I realized that the real journey wasn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I found the entire experience tiresome unfortunately. Starting with the gameplay it's basically a walking sim with some pointlessly bad gameplay sprinkled throughout. The annoying part is that I believe that the gameplay is intentionally bad as part of the game's messaging, but intentionally bad is still bad. My total gameplay time is deceiving because most of it was spent in the pause screen while I got up to go do something else to alleviate boredom. The only thing that kept me going was…

Grim Russian snow, a crisis of faith, and a demonic backseat driver who makes uncomfortably good points" then INDIKA is the game that was hand-crafted specifically for your unhinged brain. Developer Odd Meter hands you a gray wimple, a one-way ticket out of a monastery full of nuns who hate you, and a devil who won't stop whispering extremely valid points in your ear, then invites you to go figure out what faith even…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not cozy at all… but in a weirdly beautiful way. This game feels like a fever dream, like you’re walking inside someone’s thoughts and nothing is fully stable. It’s more about the feeling than the gameplay, and the story just stays with you. You play as a nun, but everything around her is kind of… off. There’s this constant tension between faith, guilt, and something darker, and it’s done in a way that feels uncomfortable but also super interesting. The game doesn’t hold your hand, it just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indika is a 3-5 hour game with a large, solid nut of a good idea (and a fantastic third act), fleshed out with what I can only describe as padding that may or may not be to your taste. Contrary to how it appears at first glance, Indika is not really a game about religion - religion is an important motif for sure, and it obviously provides the setting, but it is not the primary driver (as developer and writer Dmitry Svetlow said in [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkmdayfZbOw]an interview:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected more of a trippy psychological journey, but Indika is not so much trippy as it is strange and somewhat comfortless. The opposite of a cozy game. The gameplay alternates between walking sections, traversal puzzles and some pixelated platforming sections. I found none of it to be terrible but did often feel varying levels of tedium and/or impatience. Everything is sort of fun-not-fun; I never felt like quitting, but did not come away with any fond memories either. There's a strong…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the most boring and mundane games i have EVER played. It is also one of the most confused (not confusing) games with how it feels like the game tries to do EVERYTHING instead of focusing on certain themes it just becomes a wish wash of ideas thrown together and it, does, not, WORK! Large portions consist of slowly walking from one dialogue scene to the next with only occasional, simplistic puzzles that rarely require much thought. If you're expecting engaging mechanics or meaningful exploration, you'll probably be disappointed. The story is certainly different, but it often prioritizes symbolism and philosophical conversations over coherent pacing. Instead of drawing me…
