60 of 150 · most liked firstGot it on sale 90% off. Still feels like a waste of time. Why do I only get 1 license for free? Why do I even need to buy licenses to hunt the animals? Why do I have to pick the license first before I even know what animals are on which maps? Why is it impossible to retrieve ducks from a pond without buying a dog first? How am I supposed to know I need all that before I waste an hour of my time and just look it up from other frustrated reviews? -Play tutorial -Spend all the starting money on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't even buy this game. The aiming is horrible, the movement is janky and makes me motion sick which genuinely surprises me because I have never gotten motion sickness from a game before. This poor excuse of a game isn't worth £35 at all; it feels like I'm playing a Unity game from Gamejolt or some ♥♥♥♥. Don't buy this game, play Call of the Wild instead.

unlabelledView post →The game is all but abandoned. The dev is working on HS3, and apparently gave HS1 the same treatment when HS2 was being developed. Maybe you can stop reading here. TLDR: If you are looking for a hunting experience that tests your patience and commitment, then this game is worthy of your attention despite its shortcomings. I recommend picking it up on sale for an interesting change of pace from other hunting games. HS2 starts off strong. The tutorial is very well done, and you receive a free…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is more bang for the buck in other hunting games. CotW or WotH to name some. Grafics, Mechanics, Content it just lacks behind.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This would certainly be a good game if it weren't for "thehunter: call of the wild" and "the way of the hunter". The scale is too high and hunting simulator 2 is simply too low. In short, that's the end of the story. Everything you want from a hunting game can be found elsewhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →do not get me wrong, this game is well built and really good for the most part... HOWEVER!... the biggest problem that makes the game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating and annoying is not being able to save periodically while hunting, so if you need to quit or your game is shutdown for any reason you will lose hours of gameplay in an instant... the only time the game saves your progress at all is when you return to the lodge, wtf! minor issues, include amount of ammo you have on you is rediculously…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR - there are better hunting games out there, only buy this for £5 or less. Do not pay full price. I've played theHunter, COTW and WOTH enough to know my way round a hunting game. Antorius has posted a very detailed review here on Steam; I suggest you read it, I will just be adding a few points. This game hasn't been updated maybe since 2021. In some ways, it's a game I like as it's very bare bones. No ATVs, tripods, bait barrels, tree stands, tents to buy or place. It's you, your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice slow game, rewards patience by letting you shoot a poor defenceless animal in the face.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game should be named "Get Fined!" You would be fined for everything that the developers don't like. A deer that you hit doesn't die and drags you around entire the map for 2 hours already, but you don't have more time to play today? You're fined! You bagged all the animals, but need to leave urgently, and can't travel to the cabin before exiting the game? Fined! You shot a goose on the fly, it felt in a middle of a knee deep puddle, but you don't have a retriever dog? Fined! No, you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tracked a jackrabbit trail for a good 45 minutes, I've come across roughly 5 kilos worth of fresh piss and poop with zero actual sight of the animal. More like snipe hunting simulator, and I'm not referring to the bird.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a veteran player of the "Hunter: Call of the Wild" and the more recent "Way of the Hunter" games, I can safely say this game is pretty good and can stand up to the rest of them. After a (thankfully) brief tutorial showing you the basics of tracking an animal and giving commands to your dog, the game takes you back to your hunting lodge to buy and pick your equipment and licenses, pick the time and day you want to start hunting at, and which hunting area you want to hunt at. Unlike the other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has it's moments and could give some entertainment for anyone who wants to try this game out casually but buy from sale only) however... here is list of my nags and other. Liked: - View distance is pretty insane. Could see animals walking 1400 meters away from me. - Very pretty lighting work and landscapes are somewhat interesting. - Pretty fast when loading into maps or back to lodge. - indicator when you hit an animal and when animal will die to that shot. - X mark on the map where…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shot a tiny deer twice in the head, i then had to follow him across the entire map to shoot him 4 more times before he died. and when he finally did i got Fined for unethical hunt. If i shoot a deer twice and it runs away, i expect to find it dead not too far from there... Might buy this game in another year or two if its still worked on then. Not worth it atm.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As an ex real life hunter I have Hunter Classic, The Hunter Call of The Wild and Way of the Hunter but this is my go to when I just want some quick kills without the possibly long waits between shots in the other games. Is it realistic? Well yes, to a point but that point is way below the effort required in COTW and WOTH. Most of the mechanics are there but the realism of those mechanics is almost game like rather than sim like. e.g. Finding and getting close to animals is way easier than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this for 15$, all DLC included. The tutorial lies about the frequency of animals. I got through the training with dog was interesting but its basically the only way you can find animals or tracks as the detail in droppings, prints, food, are so hidden in grass or just aren't rendered well enough to stand out from the foliage. That said, I could just be a bad hunter in that regard, but the huge issue that sitting on my chest and burping in my face is the total barren Forrest. You will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the same price, there are much better hunting games out there. The tracking mechanics here are an absolute chore, the animal AI is frustratingly janky, and the core gameplay loop feels like 90% tedious walking around doing nothing just to get a clunky shot off. It has its moments if you just want to wander the woods with your dog, but compared to what else is out there, it's pretty rough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →shot a bear. Followed bear for 5 hours. Lost the bear. Walked around the map for 2 hours. Found the bear. Very small bear.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game today for $5 and already put 9 hours in. It is a relaxing game, and if you have an interest in hunting you should enjoy it. That being said, at full price. i wouldve just bought call of the wild. But for 5 canadian pesos, i think it was well worth the money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →HS2 is a nice throwback to the *great* hunting classics of the 1990s/2000s (Deer Hunter, Rocky Mountain Trophy Hunter, Cabela's Grand Slam Hunting), albeit with far better graphics and much smarter animal behavior. My beagle, Gus, is the absolute best thing about the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yeah pretty poor game. graphics suck hunting isn't fun. just get call of the wild.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it super realistic it takes 2 hours to track one animal
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The hunting experience is fun and entertaining. I don't hunt in real life so allows me to get the feel of hunting without the cost and not having to kill animals for sport.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I am going to say yes, I would recommend this game, but only if you can grab it relatively cheap or on a steam sale and are looking for a bit of a different experience to other hunting game titles. There are pros and cons to this game, so I will list them. Pros: Great weapons system and decent variety of weapons The Legendary animal variants/skins are cool looking (basically all piebalds except for a few) Some good animal models (red fox and bighorn in particular are great!)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing for 5 mins. For some reason my game crash and I am unable to play at all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome Game especially on Portable Switch and Steam Deck , can play anywhere , anytime
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played for 2 hrs and killed 1 buck. Would not recommend buying unless its on sale. Spend your money on The Call of The Wild instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember the money you receive at the beginning has to cover everything so choose wisely. guns, ammo, clothes, license for the different animals on different maps. You should make more the more you play in selling the animals you shoot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunting Simulator 2 is, at times, incredibly boring… which I suppose means it’s doing its job perfectly. You’ll spend a lot of time walking, waiting, and questioning your life choices while staring at bushes. Then, just when something finally happens, it’s over in about three seconds and you’re back to wandering around again. And the rabbits? Absolutely infuriating. The ones in this game vanish the second you look at them funny. Meanwhile, the rabbits in my city would square up, crack…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 95 yrs old and have hunted a good many yrs of it. I have found this gsme of hunting as boreing and uneventfull as this attempt at making a game of it could be. The graphics are very good BUT the action is very POOR, a real waste of my $3.99
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game needs a fix. The tutorial tells you what to do, where to go, and then when there's no one to tell you, you just wander around like crazy. I walked 50 km, the dog found tracks on the most animals, the problem is that they were 4 different, and finally after 1 hour of playing I gave up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it alot just needs multiplayer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feeling like a mobile port.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunting Simulator 2 is a great experience for anyone who enjoys tracking wildlife and a slower-paced, strategic game. The visuals and environments look really nice, and hunting with a companion dog adds a great layer to the gameplay. Controls are smooth and the mechanics feel solid. Highly recommended if you're looking for a relaxing hunting experience!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just use cheat engine saves a load of ball aching . Its ok for a hunting game. Better than call of the wild mong hunter. It just needs a mod to replace animals with people and rename it wrong turn and we have a classic on our hands.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly found this so bland and boring. Nothing in it to make me wanna keep playing it. With it being hunt sim2 you would think it would be better than the previous version but its all so basic. Cant think of 1 thing i liked about it at all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My dad won' take me hunting yet beacause he saws I am to young to go. But anyway 10 out of 10 w w w w w w w w w w w
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even on the steep discount that i bought this game for I'm struggling to find a reason to actually play it. I love hunting games, i own a lot of them. Currently the bar for hunting games is very high, Call of the Wild and Way of the Hunter are dominating the genre and this game just falls behind those two titles in both features and game play and honestly cost value too, $40 is really pricey for a game that gives you so little compared to other games its competing against.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Walking Simulator 2
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those of you familiar with Call of the Wild, this is in a word easier. Same kind of locations, much better UI, simiar animals that are less twitchy, simplified ballistics and 'cheaper' upgrades. A little less realism, but also no distracting glowy trails. Free Dog that you don't have to pay for and actually works. In all a superior experience with less depth. I paid peanuts but it's worth the same as CotW.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont start with white tail start with elk free money
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly one of my favourite games of all time A great hunting experience for the family. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just started playing this and I have to say am enjoying it. I have already bagged 2 sheep after a short play. The developers seem to understand its no fun to be searching for animals and not finding them. Another famious hunting game I have played I gave up because I couldn't even bag a rabbit after hours of play, it was like there was no prey for miles around. It really give one a sense of accomplishment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game (boring asf)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun hunting but where th is elk mountain and i heard that if you hunt too many animals, they dont come back is that true???
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good for beginner pc players.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really like this game but there is alot of stuff the devs should really change and cotw is much better but overall 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it is hard at first but it is fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst hunting game ever, I paid for DLC ♥♥♥♥ and it didn't make it better, I tried to hunt a damn bear for hours, this should be called the follow trace and ♥♥♥♥ simulator, after chasing the damn thing for hours I finally was able to put a shot on it, a headshot, and the stupid ♥♥♥♥ kept running even more than before, it should be advertised that all animals have Wolverine genes inside because the damn thing healed itself, I chased that ♥♥♥♥ for so long that it wasn't even bleeding anymore, I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunting Simulator 2, developed by Nacon Studio Ghent and published by Nacon, aims to deliver an authentic hunting experience built on realism, patience, and immersion. Rather than focusing on fast-paced action or arcade-style shooting, the game places players in the quiet solitude of nature, where observation, timing, and precision matter far more than reflexes. It strives to recreate the rhythm and atmosphere of real hunting—long treks through dense forests, scanning the horizon for movement,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty fun, very slow though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hunting Simulator 2 delivers exactly what it promises. That said, the game’s pacing can be a serious drawback. A lot of time is spent walking long distances, waiting, and sometimes even going in the wrong direction. For many players, this leads to a sense of frustration, especially when you're eager for action or progress. If you're looking for a more fast-paced or engaging experience, this might not be the best use of your gaming time. While it’s clear the game does what it sets out to do,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have bought this game on sale at 90% discount. Actually I also own theHunter CoTW on Steam and Epic (was free there), but on my GTX1660 CoTW is running hot (60-65C) even on medium settings. On the other hand Hunting Simulator 2 runs nice High Settings (60 fps, 44 C), no stuttering and looks beautiful. The base game includes 6 maps (4 US, 2 EU), you immediately get a dog to track traces, and even as a beginner in hunting games I could shoot some ducks and wild boars just after starting to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had initially seen a few people playing Hunting Simulator 2 and describing it as a relaxing experience. I was skeptical—how could hunting animals be relaxing? However, when I decided to give the game a try, I was genuinely surprised. The realism is striking, not only in the animals' behavior but in the entire environment. The attention to detail in the landscapes, weather effects, and even the sound design creates an immersive and serene atmosphere. The game offers a sense of calm that I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so far its pretty good dose has some glitching at times but for a hunting game it fair
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst Hunting game I ever played!! This hunting game is not very good for many reasons. First of all, you will be walking so long without finding an animal and it is hard to kill an animal. And when you do find a animal, you get fined if you do anything in this game because it claims to be a "Serious" hunting game. Secondly, this game doesn't have many maps, guns, and this game overall is pretty boring. If you want a good hunting game, go play hunter: call of the wild or any of the cabala's…
