How to Survive 2
Developer Eko Software
Dead or Alive? Make up your mind, stranger. We don’t like that undead business here in Louisiana…Survive solo or with friends as you look to fulfill your basic needs of food, water and shelter, crafting your own tools and weapons while you secure your camp and face flesh hungry zombies. Be kind to yourself and go get Taco Bell, you'll have a better experience than with this game. And yes, I'm including the -bathroom- time you're going to get. Story: Just like the previous entry, no real meat here. There are different questgivers to talk to, just like in the first, but only Kovac has voice over now, rendering all other NPCs less interesting and boring. Some of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun game that I acquired long long ago. Though it's plagued by P2W DLC and I could never recommend spending money to support blatantly consumer unfriendly business practices. After playing more of the game, I can also say that it's INSANELY grindy. The zombies get more powerful every time you level up, so you constantly get weaker by leveling up until you grind materials to get better gear (at specific thresholds). There's like 6 different buildings you keep looting over and over and over…

I joined the discord to find out what the scoop was, figuring it was just out for a day or something to zero response. I don't understand why we cant host games online without the servers, but here we are. It's a shame because this game seemed to have some potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't have the same charm as the first one. I would suggest you go play that one instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow manages to strip out most of what made the first game fun. The crafting feels watered down, the combats clunkier and the charm's just gone. It tries to expand with the co op and base building but both end up feeling like afterthoughts rather than real improvements. The atmosphere’s dull, the missions repetitive, and it never captures the same effect of the original. It’s less how to survive and more how to regress. Remember to put your session to private and/or make the players guests…

unlabelledView post →I am a 45 -year -old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father raising my son, who is now 14 years old. My son won this game from his uncle, so we installed him on his computer and he started playing. Until the end of the week he had 24 hours in this game. This was horrible for me, because it was hard to find ways to spend time with my son, because he is always with friends or just watching Youtube. So I decided to do a Steam account and get this game to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you know those times when you've just finished with a game and you really don't know what to play, nothing really stands out, there's a few games you'd like to try but they're way too expensive, there's a few you have halfway but don't feel like going back to, and you just start browsing your vast, VAST library of Steam trash for something that you might have left relatively untouched for one reason or the other in a desperate attempt to avoid throwing more money into the always hungry maw…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad game that paved the road for many top-down ♥♥♥♥♥♥ zombie games. This was one of the first! Learn from your elders! Or don't, I don't care. No one cares. No one is even reading reviews on this bad game or will ever play it again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big downgrade from the first title. The combat is worse than HtS1 because charged attacks can't be released when you want to but have a fixed duration, also there is a weird lock-on on enemies that makes it hard to hit multiple enemies at once. The game is way less focused on exploration than HtS1, it is mission-based with uninteresting, underdeveloped and not even dubbed characters. The base building aspect is interesting, but even here there are problems: you have a "trunk" (a chest) where…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After over 300 hours I gave up. Supposed to kill a deer that I never find. Game does goofy things at times like kicking me out to different screens making it impossible to finish what I had started. The see-through scenery graphics plays havoc with peripheral vision, making it appear that something is flashing (to be picked up) when it isn't. The layouts are pretty well done, but the game play is erratic and awful. Will avoid any games from that company in the future.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games that starts off pretty well and then becomes boring and grindy. You can't build anything cool like a base or house. You just run around killing zombies to get XP in order to upgrade your camp. It also quickly reaches the point where in order to build anything you must build/craft something else that requires a ton of resources that can only be obtained by repeating previous missions and completing other missions that you often have no idea how to even start. There is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not as good as the first How to Survive game. Very boring grindy repetitive quests. Very poor story. I've probably attempted a fresh playthrough of How to Survive 2 like three times now and every time, I simply don't feel like playing it after a couple of hours Still retains the crafting system of the first game which is nice, and infact even expands upon it by allowing you to build a base and stuff. But the game fails at everything else. Lacks the charm of the first game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No good cheaters weapons and equipaments
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the first one was better insane grind in this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unexpected Gem Key features Deep and complex crafting system, Cool finish moves, Unnecessary experience grind for skills and buildings https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3401267474 Lots of fun moments Honestly, I didn't expect much from this game. I knew it was old and thought it would be a few days trip. Ha. Haha! I ended up running in cities, collecting tinned food and moving heavy garbage containers. I had to hunt zombified animals in swamps and lure unique trophies…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Progress too much depends on some boring, not immersive grind-tech/loot line.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The level design is the biggest offender. Every single quest boils down to the same loop: go to a location, kill the same handful of enemy types, loot, come back. Over and over. The enemy variety is almost nonexistent, and the game outstays its welcome by a long stretch. Levelling up feels meaningless because the skill tree is bland, it's progression for the sake of a number going up, nothing more. Playing solo is a miserable experience. Co-op makes it more bearable, but that's a low bar.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I may have played the game wrong, but after a couple of hours the progress just abruptly slows to a crawl. I’ve tried about four different playthroughs throughout the years (about 25 hours of offline playtime that isn’t registered), and nothing ever improved. It’s really fun for the first 4–5 hours, since you make progress and can actually fight the zombies efficiently. Then, suddenly, your encounters with zombies get way harder. Zombies turn into bullet sponges, and every encounter is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TWO weeks without connection. We can't connect to play co-op or see our camps. So much time invested in this game, only to be left without support.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played this on console, I figured it might be better on PC. I was dead wrong. I'll keep it short and sweet: -Quest tracking is nearly non-existent -Dialogue feels written for children -Combat is like any other cookie cutter isometric game -Low effort story The only reason I bought this game again was because I figured they would've done a bit more QoL updates, fleshed out the mechanics, and ironed out the non-existent quest tracking. They did none of these things, and just did a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first game was a little bit better than this one but still. It is the same thing with a few new enemies and clunky gameplay (the game is made for consoles, wich is why the controls are a bit clunky) ((**Remember to grab the machete on your first run on the middle locker room or arsenal room on Kovac's bunker you will need it to chop wood and make arrows and other things**)) The camp mechanic is....meh but it gives you another reason to go out and murder zombies, everything you do…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not nearly as good as the first. honestly not really worth the discount buy either, because it's just not worth spending your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first How to Survive game had story, this game does not have any story and is more of a pay to win quest grinding game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its absolutely downgrade from hts1, the campaign mode is not realy adventure that you can explore the island, its just feel you spawn in a some level with square little maps, its just not feeling the story of the campaign mode, the combat is feel so hard, everytime you die you just spawn in start postition in the map. Just play the hts1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game grows progressively harder past the learning curve, and your reward for beating the storyline is an enemy type that has guns. This game sucks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad progression design, by the time I realized I got weaker by just grinding stuffs, I stopped caring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first game did everything better.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yo! No idea why its only "mixed"... you may read things like "pay 2 win" and people complaining about timers, or that there isnt any story and the such, but ignore those. As someone who played and completed the first one, as well as owning this game for years and playing it a lot too, let me tell you whats really the case here. - No its NOT pay 2 win, you can do just fine without DLC weapons and pets. Its making it easier, yes, but you dont need it, especially when playing by yourself or…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't recommend at all! It's another scam from Steam and game developers!!! The game's resolution is out of range, and the settings are absolutely dumb and limited! Steam and publisher don't give a s#it, and no chance to contact the developers! Don't waste your money for this bugged s#it!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun, especially the couch co-op with friends & xbox controllers work great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bare minimum How to Survive 2 is a disappointing sequel, plain and simple. While it starts on a somewhat promising note, it very quickly devolves into this never-ending, soul-wrenchingly grindy slop. It is one of those games from the survival genre that people often (rightfully so) meme on - ZOMBIE! SURVIVAL! CRAFTING! OPEN WORLD! (EARLY ACCESS!) All keywords which, when combined together, often result in a concoction of sh*tty game elements slapped together in laziest way imaginable…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How to Survive 2 takes the basic formula and adds more crafting, base building and missions, but I found it considerably more tedious. The missions get repetitive very quickly, there's a lot more grinding, and it loses some of the survival feel of the first game. It's not terrible, especially in co-op, but I'd much rather play the original.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spent way too many nights running from zombies in the rain with my buddies. This game is like a messy, hilarious trip down memory lane that still feels awesome to play. Building a crazy base and finding a dirty hat for my character was the highlight of my week. If you want to smash some ghouls and laugh at your friends dying, this is still the best pick!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →how to survive 3 coming when
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its okay, How to Survive 1 was pretty good in comparison, with the limitation in Coop of both players having to be on the same screen, however Welcome to ParadiZe is much better and recommend skipping this one and going directly to their newest release.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →classic trash "zombie game"
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/6wJF1O4fHbQ Despite a definite improvement in graphical fidelity the core gameplay loops still feel the same along with the original control limitations.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really great co-op experience! Developers really should make third game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst local co-op game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Survival depends on what you do, not what you think.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its just an OK game...very so so game just playable....in comparison to the first one. The first one is amazing ...as for this...not so... bad bug, ..repeat gameplay and graphic...fighting mechanism is bad as well.... no a lot of interesting things though...i drag myself through the first 10 hours...... not sure if Im gonna finish it..... Nope...change to not recommend bug...door bug...cant even door especially mission related door... like at the cemetary and farm shed. this is total rubbish…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good afternoon, having played more than 70 hours, I decided to share my opinion and impressions of the game, the game with its mechanics and atmosphere is somewhat similar to “Project Zomboid”, but here it is not a completely open world, but divided into locations. In general, the game is interesting, a lot NPCs, well-written dialogues and plot, but this is only a single-player game, and if we talk about multiplayer, then there are problems, the first is that the online is very small, you meet…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first it felt like a hidden gem but after 77 hours i can say that the game is a bit boring repetetive and buggy , worst part is the achievements are glitched and imposible to obtain - SO NO PERFECT GAME . Tryed contacting 505 but they dont seem to care about this isue. So like i said it was fun at the start everything looked good, graphics are not bad game play is fun , but it becomes a huge grind at the end, recomend playing with a friend it gets really lonely doing it solo.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great zombie survival game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is nothing like the first base building has no aesthetic. plot is really weak and pulls a haha twist for the conclusion. returning characters get no development and provide nothing to the overall story. any plot points from last game have been swept under the rug. leveling is boring and upgrades are a nightmare to grind any progression in power is quickly turned into a nonstop catch up against enemy scaling.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty bad so far started with it loading in to a small window seems you have to go in to the files to run something to set the right size window as there no in game settings, there is quests in the game which you must have a skill for but the game won't tell you before you stated the quest only finding out when you need it, the game been pretty mid so far.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally removed everything that made the first one a good game and added generic survival slop. Feels extremely rushed too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →early on the game is fun to play and good and fun... later the try and mix up the missions and it becomes a buggy, unplayable mess... where random mobs will spawn into walls, and you have to, kill them... move boxes to trucks that don't recognize you moved them tot he truck and last...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game, pretty relaxing too. There is some grinding to do, but it's not something to hate. It's also great that you can play with friends. Definitely worth it's price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat feels really bad, user experience and interface is still pretty bad, tool tips for a lot of stuff would be required. Needed to craft a trunk but saw no option in the crafting menu, needed to kill a deer but couldnt make arrows because i didnt have a knife... It's a another game, like the previous one, that requires a player to go online to search for answers. I just couldn't be bothered
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so fun but full of mi8stakes, you can destroy items but get nothing. Bullet upgrades really don't mean anyrthing. You may have lead bullets but then you get the next level and it's just a ten point difference which you will not see in damage or play. This game has true potential to be great but just to many aspects are broken.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now after playing this game, I am ready to go to America and fight the new zombies (in America there are drugs called zombie drugs, search for them)
