What people are saying
Mixed to negative reception; VR port lacks depth and polish.
Many players find the VR version a disappointment compared to the original House Flipper, citing missing features like wall demolition and fewer items. Some say it feels like a butchered or watered-down copy. [2][5][19][20][31][32]
Controls are widely criticized as clunky, counterintuitive, or broken, with some players unable to complete the tutorial. Performance issues and abandoned updates are also noted. [18][23][26][27][30][33][35]
A minority enjoy the immersive cleaning and renovation experience, calling it therapeutic or fun for a while. However, even some positive reviews note limited content and repetitiveness. [1][4][6][9][10][11][12][14]

60 of 197 · most liked firstWhen I purchased this game, I expected it to be similar in quality to the house flipper game. It is not. It is low poly, terrible texturing as compared to the normal one and props that are shown in the trailers do not appear in the game. They should have worked on VR support for the original rather than make a bad copy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2 You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/RiRwpp8gSSk I definitely think that with some re-tooling, House Flipper VR can be a lot better than House Flipper (pancake). However, as it stands now, I find House Flipper (pancake) to be a more fun, & addicting game than House Flipper VR. House Flipper VR just lacks the depth of it's Non-VR counterpart. House Flipper VR basically has two modes. There's a jobs mode where you basically go from job site…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the second worst game I have played in VR. I gave it what I thought was a fair shot. I flipped 10 houses. I did a number of jobs for letter-writing NPCs. I have no personal experience of this game on pancake mode, but the VR version is rushed, poorly conceived, poorly tested and a terrible addition to VR. Perhaps in the weeks since I played it, things have improved. My counsellor says I'll recover, and part of that healing process is to write a review without getting too angry. 1)…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is technically fine. But I could have just cleaned my own house and saved the money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are very bad, most of the stuff is not working. Devs stopped updating this game about a year ago. Unplayable ... DO NOT BUY!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are looking to compare this game to the flat screen version you will be disappointed. This game lacks some of the best stuff from the flat screen game (breaking down walls, the amount of items, can't change the floor..) and some of the tools just aren't as satisfying. BUT if you are playing this without thinking of the flat screen game then its a pretty good time! Yes the controls are kind of fidgety and take some getting used to but it is still satisfying to clean up a place and make it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are coming here after playing the actual House Flipper game, and expect the same game but in VR, as I did, oh boy are you in for a surprise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So.... as someone who has put a lot of time in House Flipper... I love the game. I really do. It's all the satisfaction of cleaning something that is filthy without any of the work.... all the satisfaction of home renovation.... without the work or cash. It's a fantastic game. Has it's fair share of issues.... but a great game.... The VR version though... is not -_-. It's just not. You would think this game would translate amazingly to VR but the controls are so annoying that I just can't. 1)…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't see the stuff in the trailer as the stuff in the game. In the game you can't install sink, toilets, heaters, throw the hammer etc... But in the trailer it shows all that stuff!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The cockroaches are way worse in VR. This is another one of the games I played in my own little quest of playing every worthwhile VR game on Steam, and this is one of the better ones, even if it doesnt suit me. I have played the vanilla nonVR version and this port is pretty much the same. The large majority of it is just cleaning virtual homes, which isnt really for me, I do enough cleaning in my everyday life to really get a kick out of this. It works well mechanically though, one of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lack of gameplay compared to the pc version. No option to build/demolish walls. Bad controls, it is really hard to open/close a cabinet or fridge. Sometimes a object freezes, and you can't open/close it only pick it up. Lack of details, Highest settings and everything still looks like it's on low. Not worth the money. I really hope their going to update it, to add more details. gameplay and better controls
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A poor VR port of house flipper Conceptually this game is fine, but the VR implementation is clunky and frustrating. Here are some frustrations that immediately jump out: - Poor performance. My system isn't high-end (RIP all the GPUs this year) by VR standards but titles with much more complex graphics than this don't exhibit the constant juddering this game shows for me - Clunky movement. Only a tiny slice at the top of the Vive trackpad is accepted for teleport movement, and if your thumb…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has a lot of potential but it looks like it has been abandoned, no update since 2021
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Claims to work with HTC Vive. Does not.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game in non-vr mode, but here it feels like a butchered version of the original. The controls are extremely counterintuitive, but the worst™ part is that you can't move freely and you can only teleport to move around. Because of this, I couldn't even finish the tutorial without needing to restart the game multiple times, since I kept getting stuck in the walls. Maybe it's a skill issue, but for casual gamers, just play in desktop mode at this point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far it makes me feel like im cleaning in real life. guess ill clean in vr instead of real life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →honestly why couldn't they make the first house flipper, vr, just make it a DLC
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game since I love non-VR House Flipper, but this is just an awful experience. Repetitive tutorial dialogue, inconsistent menu positions (sometimes it'll follow your wrist, where it can be pinned, and sometimes it'll spawn a bigger version farther in front of you, which is much harder to use), menus that only use pictures and no words, and awful controls that you can't change make this a mess. I tried to give it a chance, but it was just too bad for me to give even an hour…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Found the original better than the VR. Don't play it in VR. Tutorial? Told to open the door... moved the door more often than not. Open tablet, but not tell you what button is it and spend more time wondering why you just pressed. Finally got the tablet open? The amount of time you spend jabbing at the air while it does nothing, you try to push a button on your controller and it also does nothing... so you jab again at the air as it shows "pressing" the button, but continues to do nothing for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the controls shown are only for the Oculus... which is great for anyone with an Oculus but sucks for me because I have the Index. Gameplay doesn't even feel close to the original. Ignoring the fact that it was a journey trying to figure out what buttons on the Index were the equivalent of what it was telling me, this is just worse than the original. You know those "I want House Flipper" "We have House Flipper at home" kind of memes? This is House Flipper at home.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not gonna lie. It sucked. I immediately had issues with controls to the point that i couldn't make it out of the tutorial. They seem to have also abandoned this build of the game, because it's been on the Christmas update for quite some time now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What I write for this review is the experience I had with the game, everybody will experience things differently. This is my honest review if you don't like it well tough. Also no game is safe from a review whether its early access or full release, now onto the review. House Flipper VR is essentially the regular game House Flipper just water downed & in VR. The game is basic, buy a house, fix it up & sell it. I bought this thinking it was gonna be very similar to House Flipper just more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Content is SOO much less than the original house flipper. Only one or two variations of each major fixture to buy and place. It really lacks the creative component that the original had that allowed you to really make a place feel like your own. If they add a TON of additional content, then this could be fun. right now it feels like you're doing the same thing, and placing the exact same furnature in every house. not really worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT GET THIS If you wanted House flipper, you are not getting it. This game feels like a complete dissapointment. It feels like a kids game, and not much like House flipper. In fact, i'd even go as far as saying its nothing like the acatual game, and i mean that in a bad way. If you are going to port the game, port THE game, dont make what feels like a knock off mobile game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most important thing is it's not the same as the desktop game. It is its own game I accidentally tore the front door during the tutorial and couldn't put it back. The controls feel like they were made for a different controller that doesn't actually exist. Feels like you need to use a play space mover to have proper control The game looks pretty bad compared to other vr games, as if it only has low settings. Worst of all though is it doesn't have that satisfying feeling that the desktop…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i only got this game for like 80 pence and man its not even worth that imo, i was expecting something closer to the actual game but moving feels horrid and the gameplay is very far from what the normal game is, even if it was free i wouldnt recommend it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So incredibly tedious. Poor controls. Not fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what were they thinking, worst movement system on smooth locomotion ive ever seen, item selection is bit awkward and limited, physics set own weird and non logical limits what you can do and where to place, changing house itself is weirder, you cant change floors nor have too many options for custom remodeling, not to mention garden changing isnt there at all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to give this a bad review, but this is a disappointment compared to the original game in just about every way. I love the PC version of House Flipper, but this is a joke in comparison. The graphics are cartoonish to the point that it feels like a game for kids, even on the highest settings, and the controls are extremely fiddly. Opening doors and cabinets is difficult, picking up and moving objects doesn't feel at all natural, and moving around isn't intuitive or easy. The tutorial is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got BF the index and he let me buy House Flipper because i play the normal one while listening to videos late at night. Literally the worst freaking controls, poorest tutorial I've ever seen and I some how put a couch half in the ceiling and half in the second floor. Streamed it to friend group in discord and none of us understood what I was supposed to do. 0/10 returned it after playing for a grueling 20 minutes I wish I could get back.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big disapointment, if they made it just like House Flipper PC version, or added VR to House Flipper game as a paid DLC i would mind it at all, but they made this very simple looking and playing VR version that just don't feel like the first game at all. Yes it would work best on a stand alone VR headset without all the detail holding down proformence, but for PC VR it don't work. Don't buy this game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To start I'll say i have almost 150 hours playing House Flipper - it's one of my favorite games ever. I'm enjoying my time with House Flipper VR but it really needs some polish. To start I think there needs to be an option to have the tools stationary. I can never see them and always grab the wrong option - and looking down so much is setting off motion sickness way too quickly. I can play Catch and Release for like 3 hours at a time and be fine afterwords - House Flipper VR I can take like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked the original House Flipper you'll like this version of it. It's really cool to be "inside" the houses fixing them up instead of just clicking around in the original House Flipper. There are a few things missing from the original House Flipper that aren't in HFVR that I would like to see added back: Wall demolition Wall building Lawn mowing/grass My only complaints: - Sometimes you grab the wrong thing out of your belt because they're close together - Sometimes cleaning up…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A therapeutic style game. My daughter and wife literally love this title. You aren’t just cleaning, some customers will contract you to buy new furniture and things for their home. It’s true to its theme.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect for when you don't actually want to clean the house, but you do want to feel productive. This is so far the VR game that i get totally lost in and walk into walls.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of uncomfortably long bending over- and that's from a relatively young healthy person with no back issues. Also, should be called VR Cleaning. It is very good at making you feel like you're cleaning in real life... I understand that cleaning would be part of 'flipping' a house in actuality but I bought this game in hopes of doing the refurbishing aspects, not cleaning. I didn't even get to the parts I was interested in doing because I realized I would have to spend 20 minutes literally…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →at this point i would call this game a fix-er-upper. you cannot even fathom how many times i've aciddently picked up things i did not want to pick up or how many times my tools dropped out of my hands. it has potential. but in the far future and not right now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truly, I like this game, including the normal House Flipper and this "VR" version (bought both), with a -10% discount for all people and a -33% work your way bundle , however, NOT EVEN A SINGLE DISCOUNT FOR THE HOUSE FLIPPER PLAYERS!! This isn't the problem of how much the discount should be or the value of the game, but just the attitude towards the players, the followers who supports to your games. Interesting, does this mean House Flipper VR not related to House Flipper? SO WHY DON'T JUST…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two things that would've been nice during the tutorial. You need to highlight the doorknob to open. If you hold the door itself, it'll just teleport away a little because your not supposed to move it and it snaps back down. Then because it teleported further into the house, you can't open the door to walk in. Ignore the X on the job page, even though it looks like its part of a slider (the slider is how much of the job you completed, why on gods earth is the restart button on the progress…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game would have been fine except for the fact that its control's make it a horrible experience and not fun to play. please save your money and play a different VR game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well it plays good, but I don't know why the tutorial assumes I am using an oculus device when I don't own one and since there's no joystick on the original Vive's remote, i'm stuck in the tutorial, the Quests are vague on how you do them, I'm stuck on the first job cause I can't interact with the Blue explanation points.. Maybe in the future include a tutorial that tells me how to play the game using a Vive
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is extremely frustrating and near impossible to use in VR. Unimpressive graphics and gameplay. I wish I would have saved my money for a better VR game..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok. In my opinion is the whole movement of this game really clunky. Also the gameplay itself is somehow a lot more repetitive than I initially thought. The only thing you actually do is go inside a house, clean it down, get some equipment and...that's it. No actual "rewards" except money, with which you can buy a new house from time to time or some decorations that have no practical influence on the game. I'm really sorry because I thought of so much more. The skill tree also is just a plain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this games controls are really touchy and it feels like a cleaning simulator rather than flipping a houser
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for 20 minutes on Valve Index and due to controls not being set up for Index, every item I tried to interact with ended up being lifted out of the game. Turn on a tap? Nope, pick up the entire sink from the kitchen. You also can't move or turn if you have items in your hands.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought it would be fun to play. But I think I would rather fully clean my house, floor to ceiling
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried House Flipper VR mainly because I liked the original game, and doing renovations in virtual reality turned out to be surprisingly immersive. Actually painting walls, cleaning up trash, and placing furniture with motion controls makes everything feel more hands-on and satisfying. It’s not perfect — sometimes the controls can feel a bit clunky — but once you get used to them, the experience becomes really relaxing. There’s something genuinely enjoyable about transforming a messy space…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In theory, this is a good formula for a game, but, sadly, house flipper VR suffers the same cardinal sin as many other VR ports: terrible controls. Between this being seemingly abandoned for two years and pretty much everything else being a straight downgrade from the base game, I wouldn't recommend even trying this for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe it's because I was using Index controllers, but the VR control in this game was trash. The game was playable-ish, but not worth the hassle for what is probably an underwhelming game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every VR game has clanky controls that's the different reality. If you get stuck restart and figure it out. This is a great game once you figure it out.

I decided to refund this game due to this, if it ever gets fixed (I highly doubt it), then i might consider to buy the game again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i didnt play for long so maybe it gets better in time but if your a fan of house flipper pc i suggest just sticking with it as i dont think it translated well to vr
