Of course it's a comedy. It's just not an effective one. But horror movies? For some reason THAT's considered fair game.

A TTRPG that replicates the Home Alone vibe is surprisingly hard to find, so we used the game that works for any scenario: Husband Daddy Protector Hero by @superdillin.bsky.social!

unlabelledView post →Let's set some standards for each with three different medias that are similar, but unique. "Home Alone" is Legit Good. A xmas classic. "Home Sweet Home Alone" is a soulless cash grab that feels bad to watch. "Bone Alone" is so low production and weird it avoids being Bad by sheer weirdness
unlabelledView post →Would probably ignore Home Sweet Home Alone then, since that one establishes Kevin works in home security.
unlabelledView post →Yep. And HA4 is still infinitely better than Home Sweet Home Alone where the kid is the bad guy and the "thieves" are just trying to recover a doll they think he stole. It's like a MAGA HA movie. Whocould have thought this was a good idea?
unlabelledView post →This is goofy but honestly pretty sweet. Just try watching HOME SWEET HOME ALONE and you will know what praying for the sweet release of death looks like.

unlabelledView post →Of the multiple problems with Home Sweet Home Alone, I'm not sure why they misunderstood the appeal so bad they thought struggling parents being brutalised would be funny. The hook in earlier films was always that the antagonists were utter creeps, not seeing adults suffer.

If only we could make this happen: "Maybe we can send [Columbus'] interview back in time and see if anything changes. unlabelledView post →It's the main thing Home Sweet Home Alone gets wrong. Not that any of the Home Alone knockoffs are very good to begin with.
unlabelledView post →94. Home Sweet Home Alone (film, 2021) Fuck you.
unlabelledView post →There was a lot of internal agonising over whether Home Sweet Home Alone was a remake, and it's not as if we could find anyone who actually saw it
unlabelledView post →1: HOME SWEET HOME ALONe (2020) STARDUST is probably a worse movie, and I'unno what I was expecting from the sixth HOME ALONe movie, but this has to be the single most obnoxious film I've seen the whole decade so far. Actively pissed me off, and I'd watch any of the others again before this.
unlabelledView post →*rereads wikipedia to refresh memory* oh yeah in "Home Sweet Home Alone" the robbers are a mom and dad who're going to lose their home, and think the Home Alone Kid stole a doll from their house they could've resold to keep their mortgage going, and so they try to take it back etc etc
unlabelledView post →Wrapping up my mission to see all the #HomeAlone movies this year, I finished with the sixth and final (so far) installment: Home Sweet Home Alone! This one is a Disney+ Original so it has a few advantages: a production budget that blows its made-for-TV predecessors out of the water-- /1
unlabelledView post →Dudee have you seen Home Sweet Home Alone. Nobody is rooting for the kid in that film
unlabelledView post →The last one kept the original title "Home Sweet Home Alone" in English, but also added the original localized title "Mamma ho perso l'aereo" as a subtitle so that an Italian audience would know what movie it was

unlabelledView post →4 (also known as "Taking Back the House") is also about the McCallister family although none of the actors from 1 & 2 reprised their roles. 3, "The Holiday Heist," and "Home Sweet Home Alone" are all about different families.
unlabelledView post →My ranking from best to worst (my personal opinion, feel free to disagree): 1: Home Alone 2: Home Alone 2: Lost in New York 3: Home Alone 3 4: Home Alone: The Holiday Heist 5: Home Sweet Home Alone 6: Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House
unlabelledView post →Home Sweet Home Alone... well, it's better than 4. The plot could've easily been avoided, the cast is not bad, the music is nice (got some reprisals thanks to John Debney), and the traps are pretty good. Buzz's cameos might be the best scenes in it.
unlabelledView post →Definitive #HomeAlone Movies Ranking: 1st - Home Alone 2nd - 2: Lost in New York 3rd - 6: Home Sweet Home Alone 4th - Home Alone 3 5th - [Blank] Last (Tie)- 4: Taking Back the House & 5: Holiday Heist
unlabelledView post →I remember direct to video Home Alone 3 I remember the most recent direct to da plus Home Sweet, Home Alone… Did not realize that was Home Alone 6 though. Also apparently in 4 (“Taking Back the House”) it’s supposed to be the same characters not just another kid like in 3,5, and 6.
unlabelledView post →The most recent sequel (Home Sweet Home Alone) actually does a decent job of accounting for the fact that people have cell phones now, Alexas exist, etc, in a way that is surprisingly effective.

unlabelledView post →The recent Home Sweet Home Alone is very good too! Starring Rob Delaney and Aisling Bea.
unlabelledView post →Yes! Two is fine as well but a bit longer, same-y, and more mean spirited. Haven't watched the direct to video first set of sequels. My kids made us turn off the 2021 Disney+ original "Home Sweet Home Alone" since it was boring, mean, and not funny.
unlabelledView post →129. Home Sweet Home Alone (2021) I feel bad for not only the parents who just wanted what was theres, but the people who made this movie, cause this is one of the most insultingly boring movies I have ever seen. It ruins the magic of the first 2 Home Alone movies, AVOID! 1/10
unlabelledView post →You mean Home Alone 3, 4, Holiday Heist and Home Sweet Home Alone weren't remakes of the original?
unlabelledView post →Oh fuck no. In this house, it goes HA1, HA2, and then Home Sweet Home Alone (the most recent one)
unlabelledView post →And I also like the most recent one, Home Sweet Home Alone. I do not, however, acknowledge the existence of any Home Alones between those two!

unlabelledView post →I just watched the latest Home Alone movie they made called “Home Sweet Home Alone”. Let me just say this respectfully………. Don’t make another damn Home Alone movie !!!!!!! It should’ve stopped after 2!!! Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are CLASSICS! Let the classics be classics !
unlabelledView post →HOME SWEET HOME ALONE was my least favorite, bigger-budget holiday release of 2021 "An unfunny, unnecessary retread that tried to layer plausible plot over cartoonish violence—none of which worked, wasting its talented cast and not insubstantial budget" sleepykittypaws.tumblr.com/post/6725679...
unlabelledView post →My very official ranking: 1) Home Alone 2) Home Alone 2: Lost in New York 3) Home Sweet Home Alone 4) Home Alone: The Holiday Heist 5) Home Alone 3 6) Home Alone 4
unlabelledView post →5 Minutes into Home Sweet Home Alone and genuinely wondering what the hell Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell were thinking??? How do you start your movie off by having a very likeable child actor being a little shit lol. We're literally supposed to root for this kid???
